I went to the new ramen spot and I got... A burger?! Who does that? I guess me. I was in this shopping center to charge my electric vehicle, and figured why not try this spot. But I just wasn't in the mood for a lot of liquid. The interior is certainly a lot of fun with a variety of seating options, such as their hexagon booths as well as more private booths. Of course these do get taken first so there's no guarantee that you will sit in the fun seats. There were plenty of staff who were mindful of my needs, and they also used robot servers to carry food out. The burger was okay. I liked the texture of the rice bun, but it could've used a little bit more flavor (an additional sauce or spread) as it was fairly one note. We were a walk in on a weekday for dinner. There was ample seating when we arrived during dinner time. Parking is a spacious lot that you can easily walk if you part further. It was quiet, and we were seated quickly. I ordered the rice patty burger. I thought the taste was okay, it was a tad bit under seasoned but the sauce kinda made up for the flavor. The concept of a rice burger is interesting but it does get really messy because it breaks apart easily. The fries were delicious, though! The popcorn chicken was breaded nicely and had a great crunch and flavor. My partner loved the fried oysters. The squid was alright, it was a bit too chewy to bite into to tear. Updating my review a few months after my original tasting; Trying the Omurice Katsu again but this time it came with a combo! Combo included the Omurice Katsu, and a matcha dessert. SUPER VALUE, I highly recommend ordering this. The omurice was super wet, very rich/flavorful. But not too overpowering, great balance between saltiness, sweetness from the glaze and richness. Katsu was super crunchy not too dry, just overall great. Matcha dessert was my favorite, you can really taste the high quality Matcha Powder they used. The space is huge and interesting spaces that can create different experience, cozy in the honeycomb booths, open in the spacious center dining area, or solo ramen eating at the bar. I came specifically to try the omurice, which I saw videos in Japan of this fried rice with egg omelette on top that's then split open and topped with gravy. It's a cool video for social media. I also tried the sapporo miso ramen and gyoza. The omurice was a show, but I enjoyed the comfortness of the rice and egg and gravy all mixed together. It was really tasty. Absolutely amazing food!! From drinks, to entrees, to desserts, Kyuramen has knocked it out of the ballpark in all categories. Our dishes have always come out hot, flavorful, and fresh. We come back all the time because it is that good. They have spices at the table to enhance the ramen flavor if that's what you like. Service is usually pretty attentive, but you can always press the button if any additional assistance is needed. Their seating is unique with honeycomb seating, private booths, and regular tables. You ring a bell on the side of the booth if you need service. Such a gorgeous space. The ramen was superb...on the more expensive side but you could tell it was very high quality. I got a beef one as I usually have pork. It wasn't my favorite as it tasted super salty and the beef was over cooked. Next time I'll get the regular pork bowls. This place is great! Upon walking in you're greeted by their friendly staff then invited into this beautifully decorated and layered out dining area. Loved the decor!!! Loved the seating area as well food was excellent. Opted for the Yinyang combo that was basically one bowl with separated divider so you can try a two toes of ramen. It also came with omurice and added katsu for an additional $4 and got it was the curry gravy. Can I just say how much I love the was the make katsu here! Absolutely love that the pork cutlet is coated in tempura and lightly fried to perfection! So good! Never had good Katsu like this before. Omurice presentation was pretty cool. This dish was pretty good. Rice was flavorful and the egg with gravy was good. Very filling. The amazing lemonade which was infused with cucumber was refreshing, perfect summer drink. It was not overly sweet at all. The meal ended with two desserts. Blossom jelly and a matcha pudding. Again these were not overly sweet at all either. Perfect dessert to end a meal. OMG! I've been meaning to get out here for a while now. I am so glad I did. I'll just say that I am writing this review with a very uncomfortably full stomach, and I would happily do it again. Came here with a friend and ended up ordering two ramen to share with the bar and drink pairing with an order of omarice. The noodles were packed with flavor and bouncy. We loved both the spicy tonkatsu and the dry noodle dish. The bar was probably our most favorite dish from our visit. The pork belly melted in our mouth and the bun was perfect. I was surprisingly most excited for the omarice, but sadly disappointed. The table service was fun with the server cutting through the egg, but I thought the flavoring was just okay and the rice was sub par. I stumbled upon Kyuramen after I had some family in town. After a day of shopping and exploring Portland in the pouring rain, ramen was the perfect meal to fill our stomachs. Thankfully Kyuramen was able to accommodate our large party at a such a short notice. As far as ambiance goes I do like their hexagon seating, which I feel like I've seen on TikTok. The food was good I had ordered their Sapporo Spicy Miso Ramen. It was good just wished it was spicy. And their portion was rather small in my opinion. Or maybe I was starving and didn't order appetizers to hold me over. Also my cousins had ordered their omurice and by the looks of if, they loved it. I came back twice over the past two months and this is my favorite ramen. It's consistently the same and delicious. The ambience is so Instagram worthy and fun. This cute and unassuming Ramen shop in a lot shared with a Walmart is one of the most aesthetically pleasing restaurants in Portland. The seating booths and their honeycomb like setup is so cute! We showed up about 50 minutes before closing, and we were worried they would be impatient. But they were very welcoming and we didn't feel rushed at all. Our server was very friendly and helped answer a good amount of questions I had about their calorie counts and ingredients. The food came out pretty promptly and was very fresh. I wish my ramen were hotter in temperature but I generally like things exceedingly hot. Everything was delicious though! From the appetizers to the Ramen, I had no complaints and would easily come again. Beautiful interior to this restaurant, everything is Instagram ready. Unique booths so perfect for romantic dates or friend outings. Only one room had a space large enough for 8. Most of the fun booths, including the Instagram famous hexagon booths hold only 2 to 4 people. We came for lunch and there was a special, where you order a ramen and get 1/2 off an appetizer. In addition you can get 50% of a drink from the boba place next door (still served with your order). I had the spicy ramen, takiyaki, a dish that included pork cutlet on top of an egg and rice (forgot the name of it but would recommend this over the ramen if you like curry, egg, and rice). My favorite was actually the dessert which was a cherry blossom jelly - super light lychee taste. Also I got the milk tea boba with tapioca and I was happy that this place did not make it too sweet. Environment: worth going just to enjoy the way this place is set up. This is my first time trying out Kyuramen and the decorations and the way the restaurant's set up is super pretty and fun. I sat in one of the hexagonal seats. Staff: they were kind and checked on us numerous times. Food: 1. Takoyaki: it was fresh, crunchy and the batter with the squid's proportion was very good. It wasn't too mushy or flour and the squid piece was big enough. 2. Omurice with their special sauce/gravy. It was flavorful and good EXCEPT it was wayyyyyy tooooo salty. I didn't know what to expect otherwise I would've told the server to pour less sauce or sauce on the side. The sauce was very salty and peppery. If I just eat the egg with the fried rice, it was good and the egg was nice and fluffy. 3. My food also came with a drink and I got the amazing lemonade with water diluted as I was afraid it would be too sweet. The lemon flavor was good but I personally didn't like the cucumbers in my drink. It felt like I was drinking a sheet mask hahaha. But that's just me, I'm sure others are okay with it. The stars were docked off because it was too salty. My friend had the ramen and she said it was alright. I also found the prices everything was a bit more than other ramen places, too. Honestly it's probably worth coming at least once just for the vibes alone. The aesthetics are super deceiving from the outside, as it looks like any other restaurant. However the interior is amazing! Between the intimate booths in the back, the table that resembles a sake bottle, and the hexagon/bee-hive booths on the wall, you have a pick of fantastic seats. Food is limited primarily to ramen, what did you expect from the name, so although they do have other items like donburi's and yakitori skewers, you're most likely going to be eating ramen. That being said I saw their Katsu Omurice and decided to give that a shot. Presentation was great as they bring it table side and cut the egg in front of you. I've never had omurice before, so I can't really compare to anything, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! My wife had the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen with Black Garlic, and I will say that unless you like garlic I would stay away from this one. The broth is incredibly garlic-y so it could certainly be off-putting if you are not a fan. read more

Guess I'm countering some of the Yelp vibe as I loved my experience here! You don't find Omurice too often, so was happy they offered it. First, the egg split beautifully just like that on a YouTube video. In hindsight I would opt for the Demi-Glacé rather than the curry sauce. The latter was flavorful, but topped with the tonkatsu, the dish resembled a typical Japanese curry dish. The Pork Bao was tender and hefty, quite the value actually. The Katsuobushi Pork Ramen was satisfying as were the not-from-frozen Tokoyaki Octopus Balls. Which finished our desserts: matcha Tiramisu, who knew? Love the ice tea Green Tea with milk foam with 25% sweetness. A nice surprise was the condiment tray you find on every table: the sauerkraut pepper was a nice touch. The ramen was okay. Nothing special but still good. I think the style of the restaurant is the appeal. It's very pretty inside. There was no wait, but we had a baby which I guess confused them. They had a hard time cleaning a table for us and getting it ready. It took 3 people to do it and it took 10 mins. We saw the whole thing. They seated other people after us too. It was very confusing. The services was very confusing and slow. The server would just stand in the corner looking at us and waiting for something... And other servers would pass by and ask us things instead. What really bothered me was when we tried to get our baby comfortable, we thought to put him laying down in his stroller. I guess that bothered one of the servers so she carried a chair she was moving and instead of going in any other open direction (the place was not packed, there was space literally everywhere) she decided to bump into our stroller with our baby in it. Didn't even say sorry or excuse me. It felt very intentional. I'd give it 2 stars but the food wasn't bad or good. So I think 3 makes the most sense. read more

I went to Kyuramen excited to try a new ramen place. It's taken a few hours for me to settle on the fact that it was disappointing. I got a Chicken Bao. On the website, it's advertised as fried chicken, but it was really tough and chewy and not battered in any way. I have the Yinyang ramen, which is a duo of ramen. It was okay. There was one inch by half-inch cube of pork belly and the tonkotsu broth had a weirdly bitter flavor. The miso broth was quite nice by comparison. Service was good, but the restaurant was slow, so it felt like service-to-avoid-boredom. The restaurant itself has really interesting decor and I liked that they chose to do something different. I'm not sure if I'd go again; there's things on the menu I'd love to try, but this experience was sort of meh. read more

This place is just so COOL. Talk about a fantastic buildout, and great styling. It felt like we were traveling while only being 15 minutes from home. The staff was efficient and kind. The ramen itself was tasty, and felt like a good portion size. I ordered the #4 Sapporo Miso ramen, mild spicy, and it had a good amount of kick for me! The only reason I docked this one star is due to the lack of changing tables in the bathroom. We came with our 4 month old, and they seated us in a private booth which was amazing! In the private back booths, there is a call button for service that differentiates between orders or a request for the bill. The ambiance was fantastic - beautiful finishes and great artwork throughout. Would have been a five star experience for the value and convenience however we had our four month old baby with us and while the team was very accommodating for seating, there was no changing station in either the men's or women's restrooms. Everyone gets the omurice or ramen here but this burger was super good, the chicken was moist and crispy, the rice had a good sear without being too oily and the sauce was a touch sweet to counteract the salty fries. The food was amazing! Nice presentations. We started with the pork bao and the sampler platter. We also had the ying yang bowls. Loved the ingredients. The wait time was short. You just walk in a sign onto a waitlist on a tablet. Then they call your name out when your table is ready. The service was great! They were very prompt and attentive. They use a call button service. Finally had a chance to try out this new ramen spot in Tigard. The set up and decoration is very neat and unique. They also have rooms to accommodate bigger groups. Service was great and I ordered what was recommended to me since it was my first time therespicy tonkatsu ramen and fried oysters with the grapefruit aloe tea. The broth was rich with a hint of spiciness. I added some of the sauerkraut pepper to it and it was the perfect bowl for me. Try their sauerkraut pepper and thank me later. The fried oysters were my favorite. The panko breadcrumbs were fried to a golden perfection yielding to a perfect crunch with every bite. The drink was also tasty and a nice way to balance out the meal. I got the ramen with half off appetizer weekday lunch special and it was just the right amount of food for me. Came here with friends as I'm always down to try a new ramen spot. They had a unique one on the menu the yin yang where you can try 2 different ramens at once. I originally was gonna go for the yin yang, but at the last second the katsuobushi pork ramen caught my eye as it said braised pork belly. The broth was pretty flavorful, with a tiny bit of spice. I saw others on here complain about their pork, but mine was very tender. Noodles were good, but not the best I've had. There is a sign on table that you can win a free ramen if yours says win at the bottom of bowl, but only with certain ramen. Although I'm not one to drink the soup, I made myself drink it to at least where I could read my bowl. Of course, I didn't win, none of us did. Overall pretty good. Service was good & the overall ambiance of the place is really nice. Very cute place for a photo op, many cute booths & decorations.
