Chicken Katsu Curry Don; Follow me @RimyEats on Instagram

Another local gem we stopped by for dinner in Beaverton. It's a nice cozy local spot. I was shocked to see how large the nigiri were! The 503 roll was really loaded and lots of flavor, I'd get this again! The chicken katsu curry was also really good, the curry paired really well with the crispy chicken. Definitely a great spot to come back to! Staff was super friendly. Lots of parking in the plaza outside.

This spot has really been hit or miss lately, depending on what you order. When the original owners ran the place, the food was much more consistent and generally very good. Since the change in ownership, a lot has changed -- and not always for the better. Service has also been inconsistent. Sometimes it's great, other times it's slow or inattentive. On a positive note, the ambiance is still nice and clean, which makes for a pleasant dining experience overall.

Average sushi place. I probably wouldn't go back just because the food was so basic and lacking something. Price for quality meh. Price for quantity is good.

Going back to the Basics.... The sashimi basic plate. Period.

Sometimes a good test to see how fresh the fish is at any particular sushi establishment is to simply order sashimi... with nothing to hide. Nothing covered in sauces or fusion-whatever. Just the sashimi itself. Honestly I just wanted to taste the fish by itself. Shoten opens at 11am and now on Sundays as well and it's the perfect time to go there for a nearly lunch with friends. The staff have always been polite, courteous, and helpful with anything you may need. They have recently changed their menu and I wanted to see how they were doing. I was pleasantly surprised that they are doing very well. My friends ordered various things, but I had one thing I needed to get out of the way. They simply nailed it. A plate of basic sashimi. Presentation was pretty, the slices thick, and more importantly fresh. Each fish, the Tuna, the tataki, the hamachi and the salmon. Perfect... pared perfectly with the warm bottle of sake I had ordered as well. You cannot go wrong with something so simple and perfect as this. I enjoyed every single bite. With that out of the way, I will come back to try their nigiri-zushi at another time. Well done Shoten. I will be back!

yaki udon with chicken

was craving for yaki udon and ordered togo within 1 hour of closing. Take out order was quick, less than 10 minutes. We ordered scallop volcano, this is a really good dish and fully cooked, very yummy sauce over baked scallops with spicy mayo sauce and on top of california rolls. Yaki udon was disappointing because it was drenched in sauce that was too sweet and chicken was over cooked. It was enough wok to be considered stirfry, would not recommend anyone ordering that. Total price was $29, affordable

This is my new favorite. The Beaverton roll. Also the awesome roll is a close second.

Great place for family with kids great service. We tried the "Beaverton Roll" it was amazing also the "Awesome Roll" a close second.

Shoten definitely hit the spot for fresh oysters and sushi (they also serve bento's). The restaurant has a laid back atmosphere, and the service was quick and friendly. Serving sizes for the sushi rolls were enough for two people. They also serve alcohol if you want to pair it with what you're eating.

One of my go-to spots for sushi. The rolls are huge, the prices are unbeatable, and everything we order js delicious every time. Great service!

Hawaiian roll- thick cut fish, and mushy.

Unfortunately I have had to many awful experience that I needed to change my review. This is solely for the food. Today was so bad. The spicy tuna roll looked like the tuna was canned. The rice was oddly sweet. The Hawaiian roll was weirdly heavy, mushy, thick cut fish, and mostly imitation crab.

Awesome roll

My parents love coming here with their friends and my friends in HS loved this place too. They have a lot of takeout orders and are a little understaffed during lunchtime so it took maybe 10-15 mins to get seated with no one else waiting in front of us. Awesome Roll - pretty tasty, nothing super memorable since it's just seared salmon with shrimp tempura but large rolls make you feel like you're getting your moneys worth Sashimi Deluxe - enough to split among 3 people, thick cut sashimi and tasted fresh Eel Avocado Roll - my personal favorite, really flavorful and the eel was deboned well, didn't eat any of the fine bones you sometimes get elsewhere (would order again!!) Overall really good value for the food we ordered (under $60 total). We also got the large house sake for $8 which was nice to split among 3 people too.

Excellent deal, great fresh food. I got the lunch Bento take out which was a very generous portion. Service was quick. Everything was delicious, rice was excellent and sushi was made well. Will try eating in next time since it looked nice

Dynamite Roll

All I got was the California Roll with tons of sauce and scallops. Probably one of my favorite sushi dishes I have ever gotten. The price for it was about 15$ and it was so worth it. The service was good but I just picked up my order. They said it will take 50 Minutes to complete my order but since I only ordered one dish I checked in after 25 min and it was ready. The ambiance was nice and clean. Would definitely recommend this dish.

Lots of menu items to select from. Food is pretty good, although not stellar. The quality of the fish doesn't measure up to my standards.

They do have a large menu besides sushi so I've been branching out into their other items. This time I tried the miso ramen, and the broth was flavorful, not too salty, and it felt complete without needing to order extra add-ins. Better than some dedicated ramen shops I've been to. They might still get busy on weekends, but we went on a weeknight, it was pretty quiet and the food came out quickly.

My partner and I have been craving sushi and wanted to try a new spot, Noa Sushi was heavily…read morerecommended online- and I'm so glad we gave it a try! Their menu is pretty large, with so many options to choose from if you're not really wanting sushi or just wanting to change it up a bit. We were sat down pretty promptly for a walk in at 6 pm! The space was nice to sit down with friends and loved ones for a bite to eat. We came starved, so we practically ordered the whole menu hahah. Nigiri: the salmon was superb. Very sweet, melt in your mouth, perfect mouthfeel! That was our first bite of the day and it really set the tone for the rest of what we ordered. We then had the kanpachi, madai, escolar, and ikura. I really enjoyed the madai and the escolar. Those were both buttery but had a great texture/chew. The kanpachi was fine, I wasn't expecting it to be slightly charred, but that's a personal preference! Next was the ika and the Hokkaido scallop. The Ika was delicious! Everywhere I go I always order the ika, and the Ika here was just as tasty and chewy. They added a shiso leaf with it, giving it more of a different flavor profile, slightly spiced/bitter. But I quite enjoyed that. The Hokkaido scallop was soo incredibly tasty. It was soft, bouncy, and sweet! No fishiness that can sometimes be found with scallops imo. Lastly for nigiri we got the spot shrimp. I thought this was just okay, similar to how I felt about the ikura. Not bad but there were better hits with the nigiri we ordered. Rolls: hamachico was my favorite roll we got out of the two. The yellowtail was so light tasting it almost felt like a palate cleanser with all the food we ordered, it was really good I'd order this again! The lobster roll was okay, I think the chunks of fried lobster on it was great, the base was like a slightly more elevated California roll as my partner described it. It was overall good. Negimaki: this was so so juicy with each bite and full of flavor! Would definitely order this one again. Lobster karaage: the breading to lobster was spot on. These were large fluffy chunks of lobster with just the perfect amount of crunchy breading. Paired with the spicy mayo and the tartar sauce- so delish! Miso soup: it was packed with clams, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, scallops, tofu, etc. the pot was PACKED. I didn't even get a photo, but I absolutely loved this. I'm not really a miso soup girl, but seeing how much others raved about it, we had to order it and I'm so glad we did. Best miso soup I've ever had! The star of the dinner was their ankimo, hands down. I've tried so many others, but this was so soft, creamy, perfect umami. I would've ordered seconds if we didn't have so much other food already. Overall dinner was delicious, and I definitely have my eye on so many other menu items to try next time!

Seaweed Salad (3/5): Fine and fresh, but pretty average. Sake Nigiri (3/5): Okay, but a bit heavy on the rice compared to the fish. Grilled Steak Roll (3/5): Steak, avocado, and cheese. It was fine, but the cheese flavor was too strong and there was too much rice, which took over the bite. Seared Salmon (5/5): Wow. This was the highlight of the meal. Very tender, perfectly seared, and full of flavor. This alone is a reason to come here. Smoked Salmon (3.5/5): Good and nicely balanced, with fish that was not too thick and a decent amount of rice. Edamame (3.5/5): Beans were good inside, though the pods were a bit firm and cooler than expected. Service: Friendly and helpful, always with a smile. Ambiance: Small cafeteria-style setting with rotating sushi on a conveyor belt. Simple, casual, and good for a quick meal. Overall, some items were just okay, but the seared salmon really stood out and made the visit worthwhile. I would come back for that and try a few other plates.

I ordered a roll special with a spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll. The salmon roll was slightly larger but fewer pieces, and the tuna was the opposite. Honestly, not one role was good. You know it's bad when a sushi lover has to literally spit out the roll. Literally throughout the entire order. Except the miso soup, which was just kind of normal miso. And my son ate the shrimp tempura, but he's three years old and my other son ate the white rice. The sushi was just complete garbage not fresh tasted fishy. I am not one to complain. In fact I have never once complained and this is my very first yelp review but I just have to warn people that this is garbage and you are better off going to a fast food place. Such a bummer considering $90 is a lot to spend and to just throw away in the garbage.
