Unfortunately, what everyone else has said is frankly true I didn't believe the reviews at 1st. Thought It was just a bunch of people that had a one off, but it's not. What Zach says is basically exactly it. Only thing I would add is that they will say they did certain things and not complete them, but put them on your bill. Worst dental practice I have ever experience! Do not bring your children here at all! They have terrible bed side manner, my daughter had a tooth that needed to be extracted, and they had to give 4 numbing shots and she could still fill the pain. Their front desk is and beyond UNPROFESSIOONAL and RUDE. They do not know how to properly run insurance claims and will overcharge! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! read more

The dentist, hygienist, and reception staff were all professional and courteous. However, the conversation I had with the office manager (billing coordinator) was highly unprofessional. Based on other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated incident, and she continues to lose the practice business. Because of the way she spoke to me and the incredibly unprofessional experience with her, we have decided to seek dental care elsewhere. Hygienists are wonderful! But front office staff are terrible in person & even worse on the phone. Although their scheduler was very nice, the person I spoke to w a billing question absolutely let loose on me. Wouldn't let me speak & when I said Stop talking over me she yelled Then SPEAK! Today I had the most horrible experience with the office staff and in particular the office manager who was beyond rude and unprofessional. I had made appointments for my husband and myself for teeth cleaning. My husband is significantly disabled, walks with a walker and is unfortunately slow in his movements. We were 10 minutes late, received a call and informed them we were about to enter the parking lot. When we arrived we went upstairs where we had gone before, was escorted downstairs and informed that we were now 15 minutes late and wouldn't be seen. This policy beforehand or when they called was never explained. I asked to give him my appointment the next day. They said no because his appointment would take longer due to X-rays and a plan being made.we only wanted a teeth cleaning and the horrible office manager claimed it was our fault for not asking what was involved in a cleaning.We have never been treated so poorly. I admit I lost my temper but the sarcastic way office policy was becoming the role of the patient, was presented in a horrible way by the sarcastic , supposed office manager. The professional staff is fine but they need a new office manager who doesn't have a hollier than thou attitude.Rather than dealing with clients her time may be best spent putting together a handbook on office policies so future clients, like my husband is not put through the horrible experience that we both were subjected to. read more

After being a patient here for a few years, I contacted them today and said that I have a tooth that is in pain. I explained that I have been having a problem for a while but with the pandemic, I have been putting it off. I was told I needed to come in for a cleaning and they would do an x-ray then i could see a doctor in 2 weeks. When I refused the cleaning, uhm, I'm in pain and would like that taken care of, I was told I could get an xray in 2 weeks then wait another 2 weeks to get the tooth fixed. Almost every dentist I've ever heard of will leave some room in their schedules for emergency patients. I didn't expect to be seen immediately but I thought that within a week would be reasonable. I went through this with them before. I made an appointment for a broken crown. When I got there, i was told it was actually an appointment for a cleaning. When I told the hygienist I did not come in for that and didn't want it, she was nasty and rude. I tole them at that time I will never have my teeth cleaned by her. If you are making an appointment with them, be sure to confirm what they intend to do. as for me, it's time to find a new dentist who treats patients better and has some empathy for someone in pain. read more

I've been pleased with the service thus far. However, I'd like to address some of the objectionsto x-rays raised by other reviewers. I, too, am reluctant, or perhaps had been reluctant, to get x-rays. That changed when the hygienist's husband lost his years long battle to mouth cancer. He suffered through many surgeries, including partial removal of his jaw. His wife shared how people would stare at his deformity wherever they were out, causing heartache for his kids as well. Even after that, i had an appt and she informed me of need for x-rays again, and i started to raise an objection stupidly. She returned with the lead apron, gave me a look and proceeded. This is the worst dental practice that I've ever had the misfortune of visiting. I went here once as a new patient and was immediately treated with hostility and unprofessionalism. The receptionist (Kristen) handed me the standard new patient form, and curtly informed me that "we need your email", to which I replied that I didn't feel comfortable giving my email and that the office could reach me via phone. She then went on to insist that I provide my email, again advising me only that "we need it". I soon understood I was not dealing with the most refined person, and that the unpleasantries may continue. And they did. While I was waiting in the patient waiting area with other patients, she read my confidential new patient medical form aloud to me, condescendingly questioning the validity of the previous dental office I listed on the form. Not only was this inappropriate and unprofessional, but also a violation of my privacy. When I was called into the back for my actual appointment I immediately asked to speak to the owner of the practice, Dr Constantin Darzenta. When I explained what had happened, he just stood with a blank stare and offered no apology or any assurance that he would speak to his employee regarding the very hostile and inappropriate experience I had checking in with Kristen. It's also worth mentioning that my husband, who was already an existing patient at Mashpee Dental Associates, experienced nerve damage to his tongue during crown work performed by Dr Constantin Darzenta when Dr Darzenta injected the numbing agent onto my husbands tongue (seemingly accidentally) during the procedure. Please don't go to this unprofessional and highly negligent practice. read more

After getting multiple harassing phone calls from this dentist's office, I advise you to triple check what kind of dental insurance you have so you don't owe these people anything. I was misinformed that my yearly cleaning was covered by insurance. My husband didn't even get dental work done, just an x Ray. They wanted over $300 to cover the cost that my insurance didn't pay. I am under a lot of financial and family stress and they don't make it easy for you to make payments. Instead they harass and threaten you over the phone. Bad business. read more

They now require x-rays every twelve months -- that can be correct for some people but not everyone. If you ask about that (for example if the American Dental Assn recommends 24-36 months for someone like you) they get very aggressive about telling horror stories because of not getting x-rays, and any further discussion is with the business manager. The dentist himself will not speak to you. It looks like their first priority is to sell X-rays. Other dentists in the area are more patient-focused. read more

I agree with Graham S. right now the hygienists are overly aggressive. I told them I didn't want x-rays I just wanted my teeth cleaning because insurance may not cover them and was left waiting for 20 minutes while they checked with MY insurance! I said I would reschedule for the x-rays but was told I couldn't have the cleaning unless I had x-rays, so basically they wasted my time. I have gone to Dr Gary for about 5 years and like him very much, very professional etc but the other staff leaves a lot to be desired. This also happened the last time I scheduled a cleaning I was told I HAD to have a periodontal exam for their records without knowing if ins. would cover it! Guess what I'm the paying customer I don't need to be treated rudely and was very disappointed especially after all these years. Looking for a new dentist office now!!! read more

This is an awesome place! Like most people I have anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. I put it off for 10 years. Coming to Mashpee Dental was an amazing experience. Dr. Galovic was so nice, thoughtful and easy on me. He really cares about his patients. My kids go here too and love it. read more

Recently moving to the cape I was concerned about finding a new dentist as I have had and continue to get extensive work done. Dr. Cindy Adelstein is the most incredibly talented dentist I have ever been to. She cares about her work and it shows. I needed three crowns/bridge and she did a phenomenal job making sure it was perfect and that I was 100% happy. Attention to detail like I have never seen and I have unfortunately had very extensive work done. Never mind her assistant(s) are fabulous as well. I could not sing her praises and the praises/professionalism of the entire practice more. read more

I have been a patient for many years. When I presented for a routine cleaning and exam I was told that xrays were mandatory. I had a full set last year and am opposed to unnecessary radiation. When I refused I was told to "leave and find another dentist as you will not be treated without yearly xrays". I offered to sign a waiver but that was not enough. I was asked to leave. I feel this is an unlawful and a disrespectful practice. read more

I would not recommend going here to anyone. We had a very bad experience with these dentists. My son was told he had 4 cavities!! He has been to the dentist every 6 months for check ups and cleanings since he was 4 AND YES I said 4! Red Flag!! We went back for the next scheduled visit and I asked to have these 'cavities ' shown to me. The dentist snickered and ignored my request telling my son he was going to start on the left side of his mouth. I said 'oh no you are not I asked you to show me the 4 cavities !' He said "can you read amalgams?"?????????? I saw the X-rays sitting on the counter before he entered the room and I saw no sign of any cavities!! I told my son "get up we are leaving!!" We walked down the hall when Dr. Gary Galovic was whispering to the receptionist at the desk that you see before you leave the office and whispering and laughing!! I called our former dentist immediately as I got in the car .. BTW we are new to the area and this dentist was recommended to me!!! I made an appointment with our former dentist and brought my son in the next day. Guess what!!!! He has NO CAVITIES!! NOT ONE!!! I called Dr. Darzenta to discuss this issue. He told me his associate Gary Galovic made a "judgement call!!" I was never offered an appology! Actually Dr. Darzenta was very rude and tried to be condescending to me!! The key word in the sentence is tried!!! I said, "who makes a judgement call telling someone they have 4 cavities when he didn't have ONE???? I am moving forward with this and contacting the Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau.. I think you should question any and all dental work done by this office !!! I am thankful I did!!!! NO STARS!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! read more
