I ordered a birthday cake from this pastry shop for the first time, and it exceeded all my expectations. It was exactly what I wanted--excellent quality, incredibly tasty, and most importantly, very fresh (which is especially important for cream cakes). The staff was also very polite and helpful throughout the process. Highly recommend!
Nice little Armenian bakery that we stumbled upon today. The staff was really nice and welcoming to us. Theres only one table inside but they have more outside for customers. They have all types of cakes, pastries and baked goods. I'm not really familiar with Armenian food so I was in awe when we walked in. We picked up 2 slices of birds millk, a red velvet and a cakepop. They all look good. Tried the birds milk and it was delicious! Definitely a bakery worth returning to. Thank you Masis bakery!
First time at Masis Bakery. I'm so glad we decided to visit the place and pick up some pastries. As soon as we walked in Masis Bakery the sweet smell of pastries and cakes welcomed us along with 3 friendly ladies at the counter. They immediately said good morning and to let them know if we needed help with a smile. We felt so welcomed. Masis Bakery has pretty much everything you need and want in a bakery and cake shop. They have everything from pastries, cake pops, sliced cakes, cupcakes and custom made cakes. They have a huge display of refrigerated pastries and cakes by the counter. They also have a huge display of custom made cakes by the huge glass windows. Today's purchase, I picked up 2 birds milk sliced cakes, red velvet sliced cake and a chocolate cake pop. Love the birds milk sliced cake. It was not too sweet and you can tell it's freshly baked. Deliciously topped with chocolate. The red velvet sliced cake was also delicious. It wasn't too sweet. It was proportioned in size. The cake pops was a larger size than Starbucks cake pops which is great especially for the price and the taste. The cake pops are quality cake pops. Can't wait to tell my friends and family about Masis Bakery especially for custom made cakes. Will come back to try other pastries, cupcakes and sliced cakes and will definitely try their customized cakes for our upcoming family events.
I ordered a cake from Masis Bakery and it was absolutely stunning and delicious! The design was beautifully done with so much attention to detail. It looked almost too perfect to cut into. Not only was it gorgeous, but the flavor was incredible too. The cake was moist, fresh, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, with frosting that was creamy without being overwhelming. Everyone at the event kept asking where the cake was from! From start to finish, the experience was seamless; the staff was friendly and helpful.
I ordered a cake for a special occasion for about 80 people and when I cut into it, I found a hair bake into the cake. This is definitely something you don't expect from a professional bakery. I called the next day to address the issue and even sent a picture of the hair in the cake. I spoke with Ma,,,,,,, who took my payment initially, and she assured me the owner would call me back to resolve the matter. However, I never received any follow up. I understand that mistakes can happen but it's incredibly frustrating when there is no effort to make things right or respond to concern. Specially when I paid over $250 for the cake, after this experience, I won't ever be returning or recommending this bakery. A simple follow up and better customer service would've gone a long way. I waited six days before posting this review hoping I would've gotten a callback from the owner and trying to resolve the issue, but still no follow up from their end.
We ordered a cake and went through the decorations at length before hand with photos etc. on the day of my event, a cake with bees, horribly made pink strawberries, and the worst fake plastic flowers arrived at my baby shower. We never discussed having bees on the cake and the flowers were just a disaster. Moreover, the decorations were sliding off the side of the cake creating ugly lines. We ordered a cake from here because the recipes are generally good tasting, but don't order cakes and expect any decent decor. It was just a nightmare. Just beware.
I arrived at 7pm and asked the woman at the front door if they were open and she curtly said 'no' wouldn't let me order. As I walked back to my car, an older gentleman (I'm guessing he was the same ethnicity) walked to the door and she allowed him to come in, ask questions, and place an order. So I went back to the door and she just stared at me, so I just "great, I'll stand here and just write a yelp review."
This review is long overdue since I've ordered and purchased ready-made cakes from this bakery for years. Each time I have placed an order at this bakery, they have made a mistake or made false promises with full knowledge that their employees and under qualified bakers can't fulfill. I haven't complained once because it wasn't worth the headache but yesterday I had enough. Both my mother and father separately purchased cakes from this location and one was full of mold, even after being assured by their employee it was fresh and the other cake had a hair in it. I contacted the bakery and spoke with Liana and she had a terrible attitude and implied that the cake was fresh and maybe it was their refrigerator. The cake was anything but fresh because it smelled old and was full of mold. Even at that point they were unapologetic and full of attitude as if I would lie about the quality of the cake purchased. I didn't even bother mentioning the hair in the other cake, since all they do is deny and try to flip the blame on their customers as they clearly do with everyone judging based on the other reviews, but I will attach a photo of it here for everyone to see. Liana stated that the manager will be calling me but I'm still awaiting a call from the manager even though it's very evident she doesn't even care. Today, I decided to take the cake back to the bakery to prove to them that the cake was indeed old and full of mold since Liana was quick to respond that the cake was fresh. The employees are welcome to eat the cake to prove themselves wrong, just as they expected their customers to. When I got there, the two employees had the worst attitude and acted like I owed them something. One shook her hands at me and said choose something from the fridge and after I stated they humiliated me and ruined my celebration by lying to sell a cake and asked for a refund since I will never purchase from them again, the cashier just tossed me money without saying anything. Losing the attitude and apologizing would've been appreciated but their employees are so snarky and full of it that they have no customer service skills. For that reason, they deserve this review and everyone deserves to know how absolutely disgusting this bakery is--not only their "pastries" and outdated cakes full of mold and hair but their customer service and business skills as well.

I love ordering custom cakes from here. I love buying cakes from here on my way to events. So fresh, best price in town, and the designs never disappoint. I order from here for all the kids bday parties. I just got off the phone with janna from Masis bakery. She asked for a picture of the cake I wanted for my sons bday, gave me a quote right away, and placed the order and charged it. All within 10 minutes. I wish all of the party planning was as easy as the cake ordering was. Love this place for cakes. I mentioned that already. read more

One of the best Bakeries in Los Angeles. Always fresh and delicious. Friendly staff and great customer service. Variety of cakes to chose from. Also custom made cakes for any occasion. They also sell fresh khachapuris, piroshkis and byoreks. Fresh bread and cookies. Variety of chocolates. Decorative chocolates and gift baskets. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I ordered this cake and got a cake that looks like a 2 years old did it. I was charged $60 for a cake I could've had a 1 year old make. Don't go to this place. read more
I have been ordering cakes for different occasions, many years now. They have never disappointed me and my guest with the design and flavor. Cake has always been fresh and my favorite flavor is vanilla with custard! Prices are also reasonable especially now when it seems like prices have increased! Plenty of parking and great customer services. read more

Horrible experience with this bakery. They totally messed up my order. Wrong shape, wrong color. You ordered a strawberry cake ,good luck to find one in your slice. Talked to the manager and instead of hearing that they are sorry (a little bit) about what happened, I was told that they can make it big deal too. read more

Super poor quality very Old and stale I bought different things and everything tased poor and discolored my cheesecake had three different shades of Yello super dry cheese tasted like it had been sitting there for weeks . Here is an actual pic of my cheesecake I only took one bite and the rest the trash. Iam surprised there still in business . I gave this place another shot on 9/15/19 for a birthday cake that I paid $200 for and got a frozen cake . They should Be Ashamed of themselves but who am I to Judge they know what they are read more

I could not give a better review! I called them three days before my son's birthday, and asked them to make a custom cake that was nature themed. Not only was it beyond delicious, but the cake could not have been more beautiful! They were ready on time, and everybody asked for their number. I give them 10 stars plus! Ordered a customized cake from them and there was HAIR in it, which found one of guests in my party while eating. When I called to the bakery next day the employee asked "what was the color of the hair" and stated that "they didn't have anyone with this hair color" (hinting that we put it there). Then she said that "I'd supposed to bring those piece with hair to them during their business hours (!)" (so they could start investigation to find out who's hair was that). She's never apologies and refused to connect with manager, just told "she was not there at the time". When I called to the second cell-phone number to which they accept all cakes pictures and which usually keeps their manager, a women answered and pretended that she's not affilated with Masis bakery. Hide and seek. Just ridiculous. I ordered cakes from them every time, but not going to do it anymore (as well as guests of my party). Just because of such treatment. You must learn customer service, have respect to your clients and not to put hairs in cakes. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. I cannot imagine how someone can literally raise their prices by 40% during a pandemic. Any business owner that does this is only doing it out of greed and taking advantage of their customers. My girls wanted the chocolate egg candy and they charged me over $4 for each! I bought one pastry, 3 egg chocolates, and bread and they charged me over $50. It's insane! I will not be supporting them anymore. I hope the owner gets a piece of his karma if not all!! read more

I always get my sons birthday cakes from here. They never disappoint, except this time... the cake was beautiful they made it just the way I wanted it. However, the filling was a little disappointing. I always get fresh Berry filling and this time there were barely any berries inside. It was almost just a plain white cake inside. I was really excited for the filling but got disappointed instead. read more

Fantastic service and quality of food, every time. This has been my family's go-to place for years while we lived in Burbank and it still is even though we moved 20 miles further out in the valley. Their cakes are not only presentable and tastefully decorates, but the cream, fruits and chocolate and vanilla mousses are always made fresh and deliciously. I would also highly, HIGHLY recommend their perashkis--notably the potato one (made with dill...to die for). Their beef ones are also very tasty and I believe it has a hint of barberry in it for that tangy balance. This is a Russian food that has been incorporated in Armenian culture for a long, long time. Although all the Armenian markers and bakeries carry perashkis in this area, not all places make it the same. Depending on the way the dough is made, it can either harden immediately or stay soft throughout the day. I've tasted this at many places but the ones made at Masis actually stay tender and soft throughout the day if you want to buy a batch and warm or toast them up to eat later. Not to mention, they're only a few dollars and it's nearly impossible to only buy one... I also recommend ordering your custom cakes here. They're relatively inexpensive and so delicious and competent compared to the hundreds of bakeries surrounding them. I recently told my coworker about this place and she ordered it for her daughter's sweet sixteen party and everyone was so incredibly pleased by it. On Christmas Day, I needed to buy several cakes to giveaway to family and friends. I originally planned of buying them from Porto's but decided not due to several reasons. First, Porto's is closed on Christmas Day meaning you will need to purchase the cakes on Christmas Eve. Second, I have no room in my fridge to store all the cakes I intend to purchase which might also end up being stale the following day. Third, the line in Porto's on Christmas Eve was two blocks long. Fourth, my family and friends are kind of tired already of Porto's so I thought get them something different. I started calling around for bakeshops that are open Christmas Day. This shop is one of them so I went ahead to check their website and reviews in Yelp. I decided to come here and glad I did. They have ready made cakes available and they were reasonably priced. There's also lots of pastries and breads to choose from. The store is kind of small but clean and merchandise is very organized. It looks like a family owned and run business. As expected, the store was super busy that day but the lady who assisted us was very attentive and didn't make us feel like being rushed. We ended up buying three different cakes - tiramisu, sunflower and chocolate fondant. I was only able to try the tiramisu which vanished rapidly as soon as it was served. It was really good. I came to the store because I have friends that live in Burbank and said great things about it. I looked through the menu before stopping by and was going to order food as well. I was really disappointed when I found out that this particular location doesn't serve food :( I ordered a slice of the tiramisu cake and a slice of the mango cake. They didn't have any mango cake so the cashier recommended another pastry that had the same mango filling. I took my order to go. When I got home I was so excited to try the cake. I took a bite of the cone looking desert that had mango filling and it was so SWEET to to point that I couldn't chew it. I gave a piece to my little girl and she refused it after tasting it. The 3 pieces we ordered will probably be going to the trash :( The tiramisu cake had a thick layer of coco powder which I have never seen before. It made me cough at the first bite so I dusted it all off. The cake was terrible. The flavors just didn't make it for me. I think I'll just stick with PORTOS. The place might be cheap but the taste isn't there :( read more

I keep giving this place a chance because they once did a really nice cake, but this is it. Whomever is doing the drips on these cakes, needs to be let go of. I paid $60 for this cake, not including the $15 that I paid for the sprinkles that I ordered from ETSY and $40 for the character cake pops. This is the second cake I ordered this week. The other was another simple green drip cake with the worse drips. Very disappointed. read more

During these difficult times we need to support small businesses around the community! I decided to buy 2 of these and they were amazing! It is 11 inches all around and they were freshly made! All the fruit was fresh and yummy! I was going to go to Porto's but honestly Porto's is over rated and this actually has really good custard with a nice layer of bread with a tart and especially the fruit was nice and fresh! Wish I had known about this place sooner. I walked in to check out their cakes and to get an idea of what they have or make for birthdays etc... I was greeted by Mary, she was a sweetheart! As soon as I told her what I had in mind, she right away showed me pictures and told me she would make the changes and deliver a beautiful emerald color cake with some splash of gold. Which is exactly what I had in mind. I honestly, still was nervous not knowing what I was going to get the day of my husbands birthday. To my surprise, they delivered a gorgeous cake!! I was so impressed and happy with the results, not to mention the taste. The first layer I chose was chocolate, hazelnut, and for the bottom I chose the honey with crunchy nuts. Oh boy, if I tell you I saved the whole bottom of the cake and ate it alone believe me. I hid it from my guests lol it was delicious!!!! Without any hesitation, I would definitely go back to them for my future events and trust them in making the cakes. I've had horrible experiences in the past with cakes, where you order something and they make you something totally different after paying 100s of dollars. My family and I always buy our pastries from here, disrespectful staff and manager. We ordered a cake which we were supposed to pick up at 1 a.m. and we only PICKED IT UP and was READY FOR PICK UP at 2 a.m. by the time we got to the location our guests were at, it was 3 a.m. My mom has been going about with the manager for a refund for quite some time now, and honestly she is not a manager the workers do more than she does. She is rude and ignorant and does not know HOW TO MANAGE the bakery, excuses or excuses about a thing as simple as a phone call. NEVER ORDER CAKE FROM HERE, this recent cake was the most ugly looking cake I've seen in my life, looked like a kindergarten group project. WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE THEM A ZERO STAR IF I COULD. I don't understand, if they know they can't make it, why the hell do they say yes?!?! read more
