Another Porto's hit!! This time, I brought a plate home. The Plato de Pollo is my favorite lunch/dinner order! Burbank is one of their older locations, so it doesn't have a dedicated coffee bar like Northridge. Plenty of outdoor sidewalk seating, and you can make it a date to walk along Magnolia Blvd.
Menu with price update. Food and service are great as usual. Ordered ham and cheese croissant, guava strudel, apple strudel, chocolate twist, mixed berry muffins, churro cookies, chocolate chip cookies, Plato de pollo platter, carnitas platter, ham and cheese croissant sandwiches, tamales, meat pies. Chicken empanadas and guava smoothies. We will hit Porto's again on our next trip.
Hands-down, I would always come back to this place to get some cheese rolls !!!! their bread is so fresh!!! the service is always amazing!! there's always a long line so be prepared to be in line for at least 15 to 20 minutes! You can always order aHead as well through the app! Super clean inside!
We ordered a few pastries: blueberry cream cheese danish, almond croissant, quesadilla, and chocolate twist. All very tasty! I wasn't sure what to get, they have all sorts of pastries, tarts, cakes, and some savory options too. Everything was priced fairly, I'd say. We also got a un Plato de Rios Vieja, it was really good, the meat had good flavor and the portion was perfect for 1-2 people. The drinks here are also good, my party ordered a strawberry matcha and a honey coffee. There's a lot of options, something for everyone. The service is also great. There is a long line, but it moves fast (15 mins) and you can usually find seating if you're dining in. The servers all have a good attitude and are more than happy to give recommendations if you want some. I'd come back! The atmosphere is pretty casual. It's a good spot for lunch or a coffee break. Music isn't too loud, either.

Great service -- I estimated there are likely 50 people working at this place, front and back. Everyone I met was courteous and cheerful. You are unlikely to get this level of service at any other cheap eats in town. The ambiance is busy and lively. You have to self-serve but they are efficient and fast. Unbelievable prices in today's market! Whenever I come, I get bags / boxes of take-outs Lastly, one thing I love about them is, while everyone is asking for 18% to 25% tips, their cashier machines do not ask for any! Can you find another place in town that does this?
One of my favorite bakeries, it's always busy for a reason! Staff is very welcoming and patient. This specific location offers indoor and outdoor seating, with indoor seating sometimes requiring you to go on a wait list. I suggest trying their seasonal desserts, they never miss! Porto's has one of the best Caesar salads I've ever tried, 10/10 always so fresh and the chicken never tastes dry. My first time trying their smoothies as well and the passion fruit colada is a must have
An update review after 8 years from my last review: Porto's in Burbank is still 5 stars in my book! Came here today to kill some time and at 5pm on a weekday, I breezed through the line and sat down in less than 12 minutes. I always get friendly, fast service here, not feeling rushed nor hurried. Porto's have had great customer service for the past 15 years that I have been going there. It makes it difficult to try new spots on Magnolia Blvd since I am a repeat customer. The coffee and the juice/smoothie bar is just as high quality as their baked goods and food. It has gotten progressively better year after year and I have seen their menu expand. You have to have great coffee with the amazing desserts they serve! My current favorites are the mango mousse, the chocolate chip twist, the cheese and jalapeno potato balls, and of course, the guava cheese pastry. I also love their chopped chicken and Caesar salads! Ample seats both inside and outside. If I ever get parking and see open seats, then I take it as a sign from the cosmos that I am meant to get Porto's.

You really can't go wrong with Porto's though, it's like a one-stop shop for pastries, Cuban food, cakes, and drinks. I've had pretty much everything over the years and I still keep going back. It's perfect for parties, events, or honestly just whenever you're craving it. The quality and consistency are what keep people coming back, even with the crowds.
A first at this location, I completed a mobile order for some pastry's and the Dulce iced latte. This location did have a small parking , but the spaces were tight . I can only imagine during rush hour or weekends . I visited this location at 7 am and was slightly busy. Upon arrival, it was a bit confusing on where to go for mobile orders . I made a left where I thought was mobile , and it is actually a right. I wish there was more signage or directions for mobile order in the app as well. To pick up my order was very quick, the lady mentioned they were making my coffee. I waited an extra 5-10 minutes , I followed up by asking if she can check on my drink. My drink was ready in a different location where she grabbed . Porto's food is always 10/10 , the functionality of mobile pickup is an area that requires improvement .
Had to stop by one of our favorite bakeries in SoCal. It was on the way home. It was my son's 9th birthday and we got some Porto's famous cheese rolls for his birthday party. I got a Cuban sandwich togo and plantains with garlic sauce. I haven't had it in a while and I missed it. It was amazing. We tried a dozen seafood potato balls. I think I ate 6 by myself. They were good! I tried the strawberry cheese croissant. I liked it but my wife didn't like it. I got myself a 1 guava cheese strudel and I loved it. My fav is dulce de leche coffee and fresh orange juice. I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat until we got home. Service always amazing and friendly. The line is usually long but it's organized and clean inside. I've never had a bad experience at Porto's. Thank you Porto's!
The line for this place was insane on a Sunday at 1:30pm. Line was down the street. Lots of people eating inside. There have a full menu I didn't consider. I only wanted to box boxes of pastries to bring back home! Lots of Cuban sandwiches and other lunch options! Thank goodness my husband suggested looking into ordering online! We ordered about 2 hours before we were going to arrive and it was ready! Everything is good! My favorite maybe the guava & cheese strudel.

While walking around the area after brunch, it was hard to ignore the crowd surrounding Porto's. I generally avoid these situations but decided to brave the madness for some amazing treats that can only come from Porto's. It was difficult to see the ordering line through all the customers picking up, dining in and waiting on orders, but the team member at the entrance was so efficient in calmly directing everyone -- she highlighted the clothing of the person that each new customer needed to stand behind. The line was long but moved surprisingly fast. We were called up to the counter by Catherine. She was friendly and super helpful in describing the items we were not familiar with. We weren't rushed as we asked more questions and decided on our order -- Potato Balls, Cheese Rolls, Tiramisu, Mango Mousse Bomb, and Flan Caramel. She let us know that she would be packing up our order and had us wait by the register as she disappeared into the Porto's abyss. While we waited, there was a basket filled with little bags of Churro Butter Cookies that kept calling me! :) Catherine returned several minutes later and apologized for a wait that honestly didn't seem that long considering the insanity of Mother's Day. She worked with Raul at check out who was another impressive team member. As Catherine finished our transaction (after adding a bag of Churro Butter Cookies btw), she wished me a Happy Mother's Day and let us know that we could come directly to her, without having to stand in line again, if we needed anything else. Delivering incredible customer service and impeccable food quality in such chaos is a testament to the well-oiled machine that Porto's has created and maintained over the years. It is a standard that others should strive to follow. We'll be back again....and again! read more
I've had Porto's pastries before from gatherings with friends and such but this was my first time actually visiting a shop. Wow! I was not prepared by the crowds!! If you can order ahead, you should so as to avoid the wait! The pastries and Cuban sandwich are solid. read more
Can never go wrong here! Everything is good. Yes it's always packed but it depends on the time. Service is pretty quick here! This tuna melt was tasty! The picture speaks and it slaps! Their honey vanilla latte is really good as well. Chicken Cesar salad (not pictured) is my all time fav! And can't go wrong with the desserts!!!! I had to go to the O.G of all the Porto's in Los Angeles. The Burbank location has the vibe. The service was fast and organized, they had an employee in the front directing traffic. Of course I took a box home for the family to enjoy. I recommend this place. read more

I've seen a few celebrities at this location and no one is ever paying attention to them because they're more interested in the food. Love portos. The food is reasonably priced and so delicious. The parking lot at this location can get pretty full but I have parked in the nearby neighborhood and walked. I come here about once a month. My favorite items include the napoleon slice, cheese rolls, chicken croquette, rellenitos (fried plantains filled with beans, sooo delicious!), dulce de leche besitos, dulce de leche roll, and I can go on and on. Portos is known for being popular and often crowded so just prepare to come with patience. Overall I think they do a nice job at getting the line to move fairly quickly and the customer service is always nice. read more
Food is always top notch. Potato balls is a staple and can't go wrong with a Cubano sandwich. I really haven't tried much else. Don't let the long lines fool you. The lines always move quickly with the efficient workers. Ordering to eat here I feel like the food comes out faster. I've ordered to go and it felt like eternity waiting in line. Very loud in the dining area. I needed to make some calls but had to switch to texting. Staff is very attentive and helpful. Everyone has a great disposition. I've never had a sour grape. This Porto's location is crazy busy with lines wrapped around the outside and people everywhere inside, however they clearly have a system and work as efficiently as they can. And I can say for the price and quality of their food it was well worth the wait. We tried sooo many items including their coffee, matcha latte, turkey and ham sandwich and a bunch of their bakery items and it only came out to $40 which was shocking. Your money can go a really long way here and I appreciate their price point for the items. I thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried here. My favs being the croissant sandwich, the potato balls, and their cafe drinks. I wish they had a West LA location but we happened to be the area and my bf insisted we stopped here since he loves it so much. Overall incredible food and drinks and we will be back! read more
Parking in the back lot but small lot. We were able to find a spot. We went for dinner a large party and trying to hold 3 tables not so easy with long lines as expected. A ton of Togo's stacked on the side. Two lines that were long that moved pretty fast. We ordered smoothies mango, passion pinacolada and strawberry matcha. Cubano, a few plates including the beef and pork and another sandwich. The beef stew was yummy with the plantain, rice and beans. I ordered a few empanadas and cheese rolls. We ended up ordering 3 dozen to go. Cheese rolls, guava and cheese and guava strudel. I took a sip of the matcha and oh yum. Not too sweet and not bitter. The napoleon dessert was light, creamy and with a slight crunch. So good. When we are back in LA I'll make a stop to pick some more items. read more

You cannot beat the price of Porto's in this economy! Came on Christmas Eve, rainy day so no line. But usually there's a line wrapped around the building. Amazing service, staff explains products well, patient despite busy atmosphere inside I loved the spinach danish and potato balls. However, I was very underwhelmed with the apple danish, cookies, chocolate twist. Even toasted up, I felt like they were similar to grocery store quality. The sandwiches here however were FANTASTIC! I got a crispy chicken on a brioche and **chefs kiss**!! Overall, great spot for convenience next to the warner bros studio! But not somewhere I'd come back to everytime I'm in LA honestly. Just adding to the positive reviews as this is the place to go for friendly, delicious and cost effective savory & sweet treats. Stopped over for the 1st time and finally had the pleasure to enjoy all the offerings from empanadas, cheese balls, croissants and cuban beef sandwich and nothing was below expectations. Hoping for a NorCal location but this will always be a must stop in SoCal. read more
Visited Porto's Bakery while in Burbank. The atmosphere was lively and bustling, and the service was efficient despite the constant crowds. We tried a variety of items -- from their famous pastries to a steak plate with rice, beans, and plantains, plus a steak sandwich -- and everything was fantastic. The steak was flavorful and well-prepared, the sides were comforting and satisfying, and the sandwich was packed and delicious. There's more than empanadas and croquettes at Porto's!!! I ordered the Plato de Ropa Vieja- a Cuban stewed beef that comes with rice, Cuban beans, and fried plantains. Everything was very good except it comes on a paper dish with a plastic fork and no knife. And by the time it came to my table, everything was cold. The restaurant is busy and noisy with great Cuban music playing outside- if it's playing inside there's no way you'll hear it!!! The people are very nice and helpful. Also ordered the spinach and feta empanada. Not much spinach not much cheese and the pastry is pretty greasy, but the flavor was great. read more
We were staying nearby and decided to go to Porto's to pick up some breakfast items. Both DH and I lived in LA in our past lives, so we were well acquainted with Porto's. We got the classic guava cheese pastry. Super flaky with delicious guava flavor and creaminess from the cheese. This one is always a crowd pleaser. He also got ones without the cheese, which was also really good. These are big enough to cut in half and share. It's a really good value at $1.39 each (with cheese). The chocolate croissant is also huge. It is very flaky and has a streak of chocolate on the inside. It doesn't seem like much, but the chocolate is very rich and dense. We enjoyed these too. The chicken croquette is DH's new favorite breakfast item. These are not that big, but they are packed with cheesy flavor and a nice crunchy outside. The breakfast empanada was also really good. DH really liked the croquette more. They have milk available for the kids, either hot or cold. The workers were very nice and friendly. DH said the guy serving him even had his order memorized and was very fast and efficient. Overall, highly recommend this Los Angeles favorite for a great food at a great price! There's really endless things I could say about Portos! I no longer live near one, but if I visit my mom (who is) once, twice, three times a week - I will make sure I go to Portos on every occurrence What I like about Portos is it could suffice for a quick snack, a full meal, or just a coffee, if necessary. You'll always have to predict if parking and standing in the outside line is suitable for the timeframe you have to pop in. However, once you're inside, it goes by very fast. Every person I've introduced to Portos loves it. There's something there for everyone and the prices are extremely fair. Every single birthday or holiday we get something from Porto's for the family. It's a staple and a necessity all in one! If you're easily overstimulated, this place is going to be rough, but if you can get through it, this chaotic place is worth it! read more
It's not a proper visit to SoCal without stopping by my favorite bakery ever! Delicious and fresh pastries, bread, sandwiches, and much more at super reasonable prices IMO. This time around, I ordered 10+ bakery items and total was only $25. You really can't beat this price these days. My favorites here are: - meat pie - cheese and spicy peppers potato ball - guava and cheese strudel I also tried the chicken croqueta, cheese rolls, pear danish, and dulce de leche besito. SO yum! The besito specifically was perfectly sweet and had a rich filling. Next time, I'll definitely try their popular Cuban sandwich. Highly recommend ordering ahead on their website where you can select a pickup time and skip the line. Line is always long even when I went on a Monday afternoon, though it does move relatively fast. Environment is a bit chaotic but the staff is friendly and organizes the lines well. This is such a convenient location right by the Burbank airport. You can stop by right after landing or pick up some deliciousness before a flight, which is what I did! read more

Why is the menu so limited on Uber Eats?
Is the meat pie's filling the same as the potato ball's filling?
Not really. The Potato ball is Harty while the meat pie is more of a flaky crust with about the same amount meat. Hope that makes sense 😅
What happened to their southwest syle steak Salad it's no longer on the menu?
I remember this salad, it was removed from the menu, haven't seen it during any of my recent visits
