I have been coming to Yummy Cupcakes for probably over a decade, ever since I was in high school. I'm glad that they survived the decline of the cupcake fad, because I love their really unique flavors! Some flavors are definitely better than others, but honestly everything here is good. Cupcakes are around $4.50 a piece, and I would say are slightly larger than the average. Parking is usually easy to find right outside or on nearby streets, and I've never had to wait in line for too long.

I had a birthday deal to claim and decided to go in on a Saturday morning (what better treat to accompany my coffee). It's a small shop right on Magnolia, so there's definitely street parking available and other shops to browse and stop by, if you want to make a mini walk out of it. The place is clean and very simple. There's a display with all of their cupcake varieties. They did have samples available but I think if you want to try something, you can ask them and they'll give you a small taste. They have cupcakes, mini cupcakes, and also cookies! Prices are reasonable. Service was great. There were a few people ahead of me in line but it honestly went by pretty quickly. It seems most people have their go-to favorites already in mind. I opted for the espresso cupcake. It's a chocolate cupcake with espresso frosting... and omg, it was delicious. It was SO good. It wasn't overpowering or too sweet, the flavors blended so well together. I never eat the frosting on most things, but I definitely ate all of this cupcake together. Make sure to put in your number at checkout to get their deals :) Also good to keep an eye out for their seasonal flavors; they all looked good too.

Yummy cupcakes really are yummy! It's been a few years since I've had one of these tasty treats and since I parked in front of the shop before heading into Palm Coffee Bar I decided to stop in before going home. They've definitely expanded their offerings since the last time I was here. In addition to traditional cupcakes they have vegan, glutenless, GL vegan, Apple Cider Donuts, biscuits, cookies, croissants, cupcakes in a jar, and even cupcakes for your pups. There were so many delicious options to choose from that I had a hard time deciding. There are a lot of unique flavors that you won't find elsewhere. I selected the Brown Sugar Cinnamon cupcake, because it was something different, and a chocolate chip cookie sandwich. The Brown Sugar Cinnamon is a moist vanilla bean cupcake with a brown sugar/cinnamon crumble and a swirl of creamy vanilla buttercream frosting on top. It was like having a crumb cake with frosting. Yum! I'm not sure who came up with the idea to put frosting in between two chocolate chip cookies but this was a match made in heaven! The cookie was huge with lots of chunks of chocolate chips and a creamy vanilla buttercream center. This could easily be cut into quarters and shared with 4 people, but I was glad I didn't have to share it with anyone. Oink. Oink. If I lived in the area I would be here every day until I worked my way through the entire menu. Next time you want to treat yourself (or someone special) stop by Yummy Cupcakes. Your tummy will thank you.

Cute little cupcake shop. My go to spot if ever craving some sweets. They offer a wide array of options, including vegan cupcakes, which is absolutely wonderful. Not only are the cupcakes so pretty, they all taste amazing. What do you do when you can't decide on which one to buy? Just buy a dozen, or two!

I was in search of vegan dessert - was going over to my friend's place for xmas, she is vegetarian but her hubby is vegan, which limits what we can bring over. I was in Burbank for a doctor's appt and decided to stop by this place and pick up some desserts. They were unfortunately out of vegan cookies, so I got half a dozen vegan cupcakes - sugar cookie, vanilla, vanilla chocolate, chocolate chocolate and two others. They were very pretty and packed nicely. Brought them over and they were a hit! I honestly can't tell the difference. They also had regular cupcakes and cookies - got myself a regular chocolate chip to go. Overall a great place with a variety of choices.

They have lots of coffee drinks and pastries but if the name says "pie," you need to get pie. The cherry pie was wonderful. Cherry is not my number one pie flavor but it was great and not too sweet. The crust was wonderful. The chicken pie had a ton of flavor and had corn and carrots inside, so I guess you could say it was healthy-ish. The Thanksgiving pie was wonderful, even though it is August and a million degrees outside. The spices were perfect and made me think of Turkey Day. No passport required to visit this Republic.

If you're gonna make key lime pie, it needs to taste like key lime... and it needs to knock you on your ass. I LOVE key lime pie. I make the best one outside the Keys. I do. I'm sorry, it's just a fact. It's perfect. Buttery chewy graham cracker crust with the perfect balance of sweet and buttery, perfectly set key like custard with just enough sugar to sweeten it but mostly sweetened from the condensed milk and enough eggs to make it a real delicious custard. The like is sharp and hits you nicely without being acrid. Perfectly tart and sweet, the way it should be. The crust should never be brittle. If it crumbles when you fork it, it's wrong. It should sink in. So what happened at RoP? Well, maybe they need a meeting of Congress to put in a bill for less sugar and a denser, chewier graham cracker crust. The density of the custard was perfect, but the taste was... well, it was kinda bland. Kinda boring. I tasted the condensed milk over the lime which was just barely there. The crust shattered if I put my fork into it and... Well, look: I ordered two slices for delivery after a terrible experience at House of Pies which was basically horror pie on a plate. RoP apparently won awards for their pie, blah blah blah... it was fine. But the real kicker is that it was over $20 for two slices and it was... meh. It should be better than that. I'm still on my hunt for the best key lime pie since my relocation to LA, so if you have a suggestion, please let me know! I will literally go anywhere in the LA area for it. To summarize: 1. Little key lime flavor 2. Too sweet/condensed milk-ish 3. Crumbly crust 4. Next!

Parking is pretty difficult, and valet is $5. I can easily see the parking lot getting gridlocked on a busy day. I sampled a few of their gelato flavors, including the jasmine lychee and soy sauce. Both were okay, but I just wasn't in the mood for either of them today. I ended up getting the Pandan Toast to try. The pandan flavor was really good--not too grassy and didn't taste too artificial. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

This location is in the heart of Burbank with plenty of street parking. As i walked in, the store was not packed or crowded. Staff were polite and attentive. I wanted to explore one of their famous drinks so I ordered their Halo Halo drink: Signature Halo Halo. Includes Coconut Jellies, Jack Fruit, Boba, Frosted Flakes, Scoop of Ube Ice Cream and Flan. 5/5 The presentation was so beautiful and well crafted. The drink itself was topped off with a small flan and Ube ice cream scoop. Such a fun drink to enjoy, as you indulge in crunchy flakes, coconut jellies and boba, exploring this drink was nothing but fun for my tastebuds. The Ube ice cream was creamy, rich and delicious, not too sweet. I highly recommend the Halo Halo signature drink, you wont be disappointed. I must come back and try their other specialty drinks. For the pastry section, i went ahead and ordered their "Ube Crack Cheesecake" 5/5! if you are a cheesecake lover such as I am, then this is the pastry you must get when visiting them! I've had those before from Northridge and Artesia locations and didn't find them overly sweet so this really threw me off. On the bright side, my in laws liked the ube leche flan and crinkles, so at least there's that.
