Beau Roper arrived at our property on time, introduced himself politely, and gave us a quick overview of what to expect -- how long things would take and when we'd get the report back. We walked the property together so I could point out any issues and he could ask questions. He then got to work, explaining that the inspection would take about an hour to an hour and a half since he needed to be thorough and photograph everything on the property. We ran some errands and came back just as he was finishing up. He walked us through everything he'd done and made sure my wife felt comfortable with the findings before leaving the property clean and orderly. Moving forward, Groundworks kept us updated on the status of the report and what to expect next. Everything arrived exactly on time. I can't thank them enough -- this was an exceptional experience compared to other contractors I've dealt with. Groundworks provided a very thorough report, complete with the licensed engineer's information, which made a real difference. Quick note for anyone in Texas: there's no state license or requirement to be a foundation contractor here -- all you need is a shovel. It's a pretty wide-open, unregulated space. That's what made Groundworks' transparency stand out even more. As it turned out, our house didn't need any foundation work, so we don't know firsthand how they'd handle an actual repair. But if we ever do need one, it'll be with Groundworks -- because of how Beau Roper handled everything, start to finish.

I selected Steve's company for a concrete project despite receiving lower bids from other…read morecontractors because he presented himself as a professional and assured me, both verbally and in writing, that the work would be completed properly. Before work began, I specifically discussed the importance of properly preparing the subgrade and using a mechanical plate compactor before pouring the concrete. In my observation, no plate compactor was ever used on the project. Instead, ground preparation appeared to consist primarily of manual tamping in selected areas. Based on what I observed and the resulting condition of the slab, I do not believe the site preparation met professional standards. The concrete was poured on a hot, sunny day, and initially the finished product appeared satisfactory. Steve instructed me to begin watering the concrete the following day to assist with curing. The next morning, I discovered extensive cracking throughout the slab. This was not limited to one or two isolated cracks. Instead, there was a widespread network of cracks covering nearly the entire surface. I immediately notified Steve, provided photographs, and requested that the issue be addressed. When he later inspected the slab, he attributed the problem to the concrete supplied by the ready-mix company. However, during our discussions, he also mentioned that another recent project had experienced similar issues. That statement raised concerns for me regarding whether the problem was solely related to the concrete supplier. Over the following weeks, there were numerous discussions about having the concrete company evaluate the situation. Despite those conversations, no meaningful resolution was ever provided. More than two months have now passed, and I have received neither a repair proposal nor an offer to correct the work. This delay has prevented me from moving forward with the next phase of my project and has resulted in additional costs and inconvenience. To make matters worse, this project cost over $13,000--significantly more than several competing bids I received. I even provided an additional $500 tip because I believed I was hiring a contractor who stood behind his work and would deliver a premium result. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to thoroughly document all discussions, verify that proper site preparation methods and equipment are actually being used, and ensure that any concerns are addressed before final payment is released. I hired this company expecting professional workmanship, accountability, and follow-through. Instead, I was left with a cracked slab, unresolved issues, project delays, and the prospect of hiring another contractor to correct the work. We hired Cure-Rite Concrete for two major projects. The first was installing a brand-new three-car driveway with additional sidewalks and replacing the damaged concrete supporting the pillars of our garage apartment. The second project required them to travel nearly 20 miles to my parents' home to replace an aging boardwalk with a slanted cement walkway leading to the entrance, and to bulldoze a 50-year-old cement-and-brick pillar to make room for a small side patio. Their crew worked seamlessly across both properties, and impressively, both projects were completed within a week and done beautifully. We had a few minor hiccups along the way, but Jasper and Cristian were quick to respond and addressed every issue promptly and professionally. SOOO happy Cristian responded to our review in the manner that he did -- perfectly shows who he and his company is, what they stand for, and what awaits you as a homeowner. 1) Admits that one of HIS EMPLOYEES DID make those promises to us. This is the only reason we decided to move forward with the job -- "nothing will scratch this product". Particularly our dogs and entry foot traffic. If we would've been told that there was ANY risk of scratches, we would've never moved forward and co toned looking for other treatments. We were deceived. 2) "Employee is no longer with us" Just because you fired someone one later, doesn't mean that the promises (lies), and work (mess) they did while representing your company magically go away. It was your employee, working under your name, take accountability, that's business. 3) "Sorry we couldn't keep your dog from scratching your floor" Again, dodging accountability and flipping the blame back to the homeowner. Outrageous statement to make after having admitted that his employee did make promises of "nothing will scratch this product", and us having specifically asked about - dogs, shoes, rocks, and dragging furniture. But what he will tell you now is, "you should've known". As if the homeowner is expected to be the expert. Extremely childish. 4) Despite whatever he may say now, IN WRITING, he agreed to pay back 50% of the job ($2500) over 10 months. And after 5 months, only $200 has been paid. He will dodge every call, every text, and when you do finally reach him, he will LIE and say "oh yes, I'll send it right now" , and then have you start the monthly chase cycle again. He made this agreement himself. Not a former employee. So what's the excuse now? Yet another example of Cristian and his company failing in their promises and commitments.
