Amazing food !!! I have had the burgers, nachos and Mac and cheese this is a great place to eat

Highly disappointed in tonight's service. It was empty! Our server wasn't anywhere to be found throughout our meal. My husband had to ask another server for a refill as well as the bill. When our server did come over to us with the bill, she mentioned she was dealing with drama. As a customer, I don't need to know things like that. The food is decent. Stopped in for breakfast. Busy but not crowded. Ricky took care of us. Had the corned beef hash omelette with REALLY crispy hash browns. Yummy!!! Nice crunch. Wife had pancakes and fruit bowl. After searching online for a restaurant with a patio to have a drink on a gorgeous day I came across Mason's which I had previously dined at years before but do not recall them having a patio in the past so I was looking forward to checking it out and made a visit there with a friend to see it for myself first hand. so when we arrived there was a woman working there who seemed very friendly and easily approachable so I asked her about us having a drink on the patio and she said it would be fine which at that point everything seemed to be going good until the actual hostess who seats people greeted us and when I told her we would like to sit on the patio she said due to the heat it was closed and we would have to stay indoors which was a big disappointment seeing as my whole reason for choosing this establishment was specifically because of the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. When I expressed my disappointment and explain that the entire reason I chose Mason's was so that I can sit outside and that while it was hot out the heat was not unbearable and probably about 92° tops so she said she would ask a manager but when she came back she said that because of the heat it would be too much of a "hassle" for them to service outdoors which I found a bit off putting since it's not like I was asking them to sit out there and have a meal with us and all that would be required of them is to take an order go back into the air conditioned building and not have to come back outside until they served us which would not take more than a minute or two but seeing as we were already there I told her I would settle for a seat close to the window so I could at least get a view of the beautiful Day instead of actually feeling and she said that would be fine so I showed her where I would like to sit and walked towards the table and was just sitting down when I noticed two ladies attempting to open the patio doors so I explained to them that I was just informed by the hostess that the patio was closed due to the heat and they seem surprised and told me that they were just told the patio was open and they could go out there which at that point I was also surprised and wondering which one of us was misinformed? Right after that one of the gentleman waiters was walking towards them and opened the patio door so I told him that the hostess told me and my friend that it was too hot out to dine on the patio and that it would be too much of a hassle for them to service us out there which he found amusing and assured us that it would be fine and opened the door for us and at that point I had to take a look at the hostess who told us otherwise only to find that she had a shocked look on her face and did not seem all to pleased but he's told us not to worry about it and that he would gladly take our orders outdoors and agreed that while it was hot it was nowhere near too hot and I appreciated him for being so accommodating and also friendly. I am glad that we got lucky because Mason's really does have a beautiful patio with tables that double as long fire pits which obviously we had no use for but would definitely love to enjoy when the colder weather arrives as much as I am not looking forward to that lol. We arrived during their happy hour which includes a buy one get one free special on any drink!!! Many establishments have happy hours in Kenosha but a buy one get one free any drink is not common and I was quite surprised to come across such a great deal so we chose the margaritas which came in a Mason's jar glass and I thought that was very cool and visually appealing and while I have never been a big fan of margaritas I thought it sounded like a nice drink for the weather and I'm so glad with my decision because they were absolutely delicious and easily the best margaritas I have ever had plus they use their own housemaid syrup which is so much better than the classic margarita mix that is used in most casual dining restaurants and really separates them from places like Applebee's or Chili's so I will definitely make sure to return for another in the near future now that's my entire opinion on Margaritas has changed and I realized that up until this point I just haven't had a good one. While I cannot remember our waiters name I do want to thank him for the incredible service and even better attitude which really made our day and cannot express enough how grateful we are for his kindness. The only reason this is not a perfect five stars is due to the hostess who once again told us that it would be too much of a hassle to serve us on the patio which I did not appreciate and personally feel that she used a poor choice my wording but I'm glad the waiter who served us was able to change our opinion and will be the reason we will definitely make sure to come back soon so thank you again because it really made our day. read more

This is our family go-to place. We love it there, and really don't want to eat anyplace else. The food is always good. The drinks are always well made. The place is always clean. The staff is always not just courteous but downright friendly. Breakfast is as equally good as lunch or dinner. Dessert is limited but good. There is cheesecake. There is a delicious chocolate chip brownie-cookie topped with ice cream (share- it's rich). And then there is the cotton candy! WHEN have you ever been to a place that offers cotton candy for dessert? It is yummy, it is FUN. What would I change, in spite of our preference? Wellllll... *Pulled Pork Nachos* Needs more pulled pork, and less chips. Charge a teeny bit extra. Patrons can substitute ground beef or chicken, but not brisket. Please consider less chips, a decent amount of brisket, and an upcharge; or call it Brisket Nachos Supreme, with the upcharge for brisket. *Get a gluten free sandwich bun. * Get corn tortillas instead of offering only flour tortillas. * If you ask nicely, I'll *give* you a recipe for a gluten free sheet brownie that nobody who has tasted it ever suspected it's gluten free. I heard about Mason's through a radio station I listen to. It used to be a Tilted Kilt,"but they closed this location. I'm glad they did, because this place is awesome! From the time we walked in, and throughout our meal, we were pleasantly surprised at the courteous, professional and welcome atmosphere. I had the John W. Burger with fries and a cup of their famous beer cheese soup (which I highly recommend)! Excellent place for watching sports, full bar and plenty of room for gaming. Enjoyed our visit. Styling is "modern Irish sports pub"; nicely done with lots of dark woodwork. Bar is in the center of the establishment surrounded by tables with booths along the walls/windows. Nicely decorated. Tv's were common but not intrusive. Clean restrooms. Service was good; friendly and timely. Menu is pub fare but on a higher level than you would normally find in a sports bar. Nice selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups and appetizers. Unique selections that made choosing difficult. Prices were typical to maybe even less than typical and portion size was generous. Food was tasty but not served hot (just warm). The place was only moderately busy and there was just 4 of us. I was also surprised by the quality of flatware; very thin for a nice place like this. Great selection of 36 beers on tap and more are available in bottles. No choice on drink size, however (some were 12 oz, others were 22 oz). I understand the reasoning (mostly tradition) but not everyone wants a 22 oz beer. Maybe the less-than-hot food was a glitch but definitely worth stopping. read more

I'd give it a negative review if I could. Went at 10am.. breakfast took 30 minutes to get food. It was cold and bland. There were 10 or more kids chasing each other around the bar screaming. No one controlling them or asking them to stop. One even ran into a server. Manager did nothing. If you like loud obnoxious places with bad food, then this is your place.. we will not be returning ever! read more

One of the joys of ordering sliders is the small individual burger you get on each bun. Each slider burger should be seasoned and grilled on its own so you have all the flavor and crispiness of a burger. I ordered sliders at Mason's and what I got was a large full-size burger placed on the grill with no seasoning, torn into three pieces and placed on slider buns. Instead of nice crispy flavorful edges, I took a mouthful of undercooked cheap meat. Food services. Food is terrible, services, lacking, and cleanliness is not in their vocabulary. read more

Mason's is a great place for casual food and game watching on their ton of televisions. Stopped in for a late dinner. It's nice they are open on Mondays and the kitchen is open late = bonus. We ordered the spinach dip, burgers and create your own mac & cheese. Everything was tasty that went well with the ice cold beer. Service was amazing. Mason's is worth checking out. I was skeptical at first, not knowing what to expect. (This space was formerly home to a slimy Tilted Kilt restaurant.) The restaurant is locally owned and operated and one of the owners is almost always on site. The menu is huge and offers a lot of made-from-scratch options. Atmosphere is clean and inviting - plenty of room for larger groups. Appetizer menu is great - highly recommend the huge pretzel, quesadilla, and their spinach dip. Reuben is awesome! read more

Back again! Time and time again this place ROCKS! This time we got the Mussels (AGAIN, still amazing). Also got the Brisket Sandwich. That was KILLER! Finally tried the Sheppards Pie. That was SO unexpectedly good! Also, the soup of the day was Tomato Basil. Seems boring. Was NOT! THE be wouldn't stop talking about it for DAYS! Haahahaaaa. This place never disappoints. Second time at Mason. Service was good. Food was excellent like last time. The only negatives is when you can tell the owners are trying to be cheap. Chips are $3.00. Fries are $3.00. But when you order fish and chips and you want them to give you fries instead, they want to charge you a $1.00 extra for any changes. Feels petty. Also the silverware you are given is 1 fork. That's it not even a knife and sometimes when you are having a meal you may want to cut something. I don't understand why they feel this is a cost cutting measure. Okay, have to rave about Mason's! Had the Fish and Chips with a side salad and garlic fries. Scrumptious! The fish and chips with the tartar sauce was delicious and everything was fresh and tasty good. My husband an I love the Mac N Cheese and shared a large portion ( which is a lot) with BleuCheese bits option, Wow, what a treat and we loved it. By the way, did I mention we ordered thru GrubHub and it was quick delivery and everything was fresh and delicious!!! I was here a couple of months ago with a friend for breakfast. It was good enough so my wife and I stopped this morning. We were both impressed with the decor, very nice. We were promptly seated. We both ordered the Bloody Mary, $7. The waitress asked if we wanted a beer chaser, in Wisconsin, you always get a beer chaser with a Bloody Mary. We said yes. When she came back with our drinks, she said that there was a problem with the tapping system so we couldn't have our requested beer but brought others. That was fine except it was warm. I noticed when I paid the bill, we were charged $8. Since I already paid, I let it go. I guess they changed extra for the beer chaser. Unheard of in Wisconsin. My wife ordered the Irish skillet. Has browns, corned beef hash and fried eggs. Came which a side of pancakes. The waitress didn't bring any syrup. Couldn't flag her down. By the time some was brought to the table, the pancakes were cold. She said her skillet was just ok. I ordered the Sicilian skillet. Hash browns, sausage, peppers, mozzarella, and tomatoes topped with fried eggs. Imagine my surprise when the sausage turned out to be thinly sliced breakfast links. I was expecting Italian sausage, remember, Sicilian skillet. I guess the cheese made it Sicilian since there was no other "Italian" type seasoning on the food. The fried eggs on top were hard fried. No runny yolk to mix into the food. The whole thing was very bland. Good thing there was salt, pepper and hot sauce on the table. I got a cup of coffee before my food arrived. The one and only time our waitress came back, I had to ask for another cup of coffee. I got that when I was done eating. By the way, $2.75 for breakfast coffee seems steep, especially when refills aren't very forthcoming. Will I be back? Probably not. The food wasn't very good. The waitress was not very attentive. The young hostess spent most of her time sitting at a table chatting with her friends. All the time a manager was walking around asking how everything was. Didn't he see my empty coffee cup when my wife had to ask him for the maple syrup? Didn't he see the hostess sitting with her friends? Wake up and smell the coffee and get your staff on the ball. I went here for a drink with a friend a couple nights ago. This place is really nice, has a large bar in the center of it and has decent food. I ordered the custom Mac and cheese (create your own) with mushrooms. It was delicious. They had a ton of beers on tap and available for purchase. The sandwich was delicious and of good proportion although fries were a little limp reason for giving 3 stars they could've been a little crispy for my liking. I'm so dissatisfied with my most recent visit here. It took almost 15 minutes for a simple greeting. We ordered an appetizer and it came over cooked. Both of us ordered a burger. More like hockey pucks. They were extremely overlooked and dry. The fries were over cooked. We asked for salt and condiments. The waitress dropped it and said "oh shit". The bartender greeted another table then turned and flipped them off. Very very upset with the service and probably won't ever go back again. The device was so so and the kids food portions were the same sized as the adults. The time it took get our food out was entirely too long for what was ordered. Service - She did a good job, wasn't overly knowledgeable about the menu. Food - Unfortunately the food was just average. Previous reviews went above and beyond raving about certain menu items, we did not have the same experience. The Veggie Tacos were basically a black bean veggie burger chopped up and put into two flour tortillas topped with LTO and served with chips and salsa. Not what was advertised in the menu. The pulled pork nachos were OK, nothing special. Lastly the Chili Mac was probably the best item we had but again it was just OK. Stopped in for a quick breakfast while my car was being serviced at the near by dealer. So much for quick, 20 mins after ordering and not having had a refill on my coffe, my order of 2 eggs over easy, bacon and english muffin came out, Had to ask for more coffee as she didn't notice my cup was empty. The plate had my order but also hash browns, which I didn't order, but no big deal. Took a bite of bacon...it was cold, not warm, cold. Had a bite of eggs those also cold and not completely cooked, the whites were runny And my wonderful english muffin, barely toasted nor buttered. No waitress around...several mins later she returns with more coffee, asked me if all was good, told her no it was all cold, she said Sorry and walked away. Waited again for her to come back and told her I wasn't able to eat a cold meal and give me the check, left my money on the table and left, I was too upset with the waitresses lack of concern as well as her absence I left and will not return. This is the 3rd time in as many years that I've been there and the previous times were not great but this was the worst! We came here to celebrate a new grand baby coming in our family. Our waitress was fantastic and very attentive to our order and drinks. I got the 3 meatball sliders with very tasty marinara sauce (it was a lot of great food). My hubby got the prime rib sandwich which he said was great with sweet potato fries.
