Friday afternoon. Recommended by son-in-law for their pizza and wings. Nice little bar/tavern. Loved the atmosphere. Wife went with the pepperoni/sausage pizza (thin crust) and I decided on the beer-battered fish fry (cod....also available baked). The batter was crisp and light, not heavy. The cod was flakey, not dry. DELICIOUS!! House-made tartar sauce and coleslaw was also very good! Had a potato pancake and applesauce as a side. Was also delicious! Had their Marinara Logs (aka mozzarella sticks). Think Chinese egg roll size. Awesome! Had very little room for sampling the pizza....but I did. Crispy crust, ample sausage and pepperoni. Up there in my top 5 pizzas for Kenosha area!!!!!!! And a couple of beers to wash it all down. Oh yeah. Wife wasn't sure about the Margarita so she had to have three of them. DELICIOUS, of course. Came here on a Friday evening. Typical Wisconsin tavern. The fish fry offers beer battered or baked cod, but both are excellent. Large pieces of cod are flaky, not dried out and not watery (exceptionally good). The baked cod is served in a butter sauce with sweet peppers and onions...absolutely delicious! I had the fries, but you can also choose potato pancakes, or twice baked. The homemade coleslaw is creamy and delicious. If you are in the mood for fish fry, and are OK with cod, give this place a try! Other delicacies such as hamburgers, pizza, etc., are also available. Reasonably priced! Full bar, and the staff is polite and accommodating. Plenty of free parking! read more

Well a place that I truly enjoy and have given good reviews in the past truly let us down. We sat at the bar and the place was not very busy. We quickly got served our drinks from a very nice bartender and we ordered 4 potato skins. After a 40 minute wait we put in our main courses order. We waited at least another 15 and still no potato skins so we cancelled our entire order payed out bill and left. I understand if they were busy but waiting an hour for 4 potato skins(couple next to us was also waiting for the same but even longer) is ridiculous. We will return but probably just for drinks. read more

Friendly staff, yummy food, great environment! We got "The Works" pizza and it was so delicious. We also loved the white cheddar cheese curds and southwest salad. Staff was great at preempting our needs and bringing us extra water and silverware without having to ask. Owner is very kind. Also, a jukebox to choose music! read more

I wish I knew what happened to this place. The recent reviews ring true unfortunately and the staff is the best part of this experience now. The food prices go up however the quality significantly dropped of the last few years. We understand how Covid affected prices however that is not a valid excuse in a quality decrease. Bartenders are the best thing about this place. Friendly and speedy service behind the bar. Food...only ok at best. Half price pizza used to be good. Now they've changed the sausage and gotten skimpy on the toppings which are charged for each item. The kitchen staff could use a clean up, get some aprons or at least a branded t-shirt if you're going to let them out of the kitchen. These guys were a MESS and did not make my meal more appealing! While you're at it, the entire place could use a scrub down and a good mopping! Also, how cheap are you to charge the customers a transaction fee when using a credit or debit card? Add that into the cost of the goods, it's a cost of doing business not to be tacked on to the bottom line of the customers. read more

Dude, what in the dude with this place? It took us over 40 min to get a burger and a couple of ham and Swiss Sammie's. When they finally served us they were burnt, dry and taste like mayo covered bark. I really liked the bar staff, she was really genuine and attentive. Clean your grill, guys.... read more

We have been there 4 or 5 times to have a hamburger. The pretzel buns are great, but the hamburgers not so great. Every time we have ordered medium well, comes back blood red and still dripping. We sent them back and it was returned to us warmed, but still blood red. The hamburgers were cut in half when we sent them back, how hard is it to look at the color of the meat before you return the food still raw. Not to mention the owner of the bar sat at the bar 2 feet from the discussion between my wife and the bartender about the raw hamburgers, and he didn't blink an eye or step in and rectify the situation. I guess his beer and pizza were getting cold, so our bad experience wasn't worth bothering with. Never again! read more

This is a rustic watering hole in the midst of transition. I was dragged there kicking and screaming as I had been there multiple times under past ownership when it was really dirty and icky. It is now very evident that there are upgrades being made to the building, and decor. It seems there have also been some serious upgrades to the food. I can recommend the steak sandwich in particular although the chips & salsa seriously lacked salsa and the cheese curd appetizer portion was minimal. The poppers appetizer was good. The drinks were good too. The place really used to be a dingy dump of a local bar, but the new ownership is clearly transforming it into a community asset. I can't wait to see the final product. WARNING: Major construction on highway 45 will make it very difficult to reach throughout the summer, but persevere, as it will be worth it. Cons: still a bit dingy, not enough tables/booths as 2 pool tables take up too much space, and some seating is too hard & uncomfortable, and they were a little understaffed. Hard to tell if they are going to make dinning more of a focus, or just staying a bar. Pros: the food is an upgrade from area pub grub, the bathrooms are new and CLEAN, good sense of place, very pleasant views of lake from some tables, terrific tv size meant a clear view of the Blackhawks, bright new floors & newer lodge themed decor will be a winner when complete, and a very long bar. Outdoor, lakesideish sand vollyball courts. No mixed/frozen drinks, unfortunately. read more

Only a three star rating on yelp. No way, this place is great! Excellent service, a good selection of beers and the food is Pub food, but so much better than any I have had. My bf loves pizza and it's pretty good, the burgers are the best I've had and I'm from Chicago. I also have tried the blt- really good, cheese curd not greasy and yummy. We also shared the potato skins (the half order) and it they were good. And more then enough for two. They also have a good selection of salads, but try the hearty not healthy stuff! read more

Don't bother if you are hungry. Kitchen is always busy and you will end up waiting over an hour to eat. Place was empty and waited over an hour for our food. Bartender was less than friendly and gave us the excuse carry out orders were backed up. Same excuse last time we came. Owners need to address this issue. Telling customers there is a wait for food when ordering would have been nice. We wouldn't have wasted our time. Took pizza home and the crust was raw and soggy in the middle. Should I even say this? Lol ok.... Here's the secret Seriously... "BEST Fish fry EVER". I say this not knowing the staff or the locals. Just stopping every time we're close! The food at Lake George Lodge absolutely fabulous. Friday fish fry is to die for . Home made twice baked potatoes are so good. This place unfortunately get so very busy. I would call ahead to dine-in or carry-out. If you call first the food can be ready when you arrive. Great staff!! I would definitely recommend giving them a try. read more

Will never go back!!!! They have a great fish fry and the girl cooking is great, but the bartenders are horrible. I have given this place a try several times and I don't know if you just need a penis to get service there or what. I have been in this industry for several years and I am currently in the industry and this was the first time ever I did not tip. It took about 10 minutes to get a beer, after one bartender walked passed us several times. We quicklky ordered food, got our food (served by the cook). The cook then came back and cleared our table, while the bartender/server again walked passed us several times with our empty beer bottles pushed to the end of the table. Finally the cook asked us if we were ok. We now just asked for our bill. Still sat for another 20 minutes. There were 2 bartenders and 5 people sitting at the bar, got service. Guess what they were all men. Finally sitting for a half hour with our credit cards in hand, i dug in my purse to find enough money to hopefully pay our bill, I wish I had enough cash to tip the kitchen staff cause they were doing a great job. A tip for your bartenders/server acknowledge your customers. This is not the first time I have had horrible service here but will be the last!! read more

This is a great little bar. I come here for food especially the pizza and fish fry. They use Spotted Cow beer in their batter and it's one of the best fish fries in the area. The pizzas are homemade with fresh ingredients and phenomenal. They have a beautiful Brunswick pool table and shuffleboard, which are free to play. I have never seen this ever. read more
