Delicious lobster and crab rolls. The crab bites were also good but I actually loved the remoulade even more. The lobster bisque was disappointing (not very viscous or flavorful, plus you definitely have to add lobster meat if you want any texture) but the rolls were so good that I didn't care. Hopefully they add a location to Short Pump or somewhere closer to the city.

I got the classic lobster roll ($21) and it was made in about 10 minutes. The lobster was great and tasted amazing with the butter and lemon. The bread was buttered and toasted. I really enjoyed the sandwich but the size is definitely a little small which made me want to get two to actually fill me up. Inside was a bit small and they had some patio space outside. I really enjoyed the overall experience with this lobster roll and it was definitely on the more affordable side compared to other experiences I've had. I've been to the northeast once before and definitely crave a good lobster roll from time to time, which Mason's Famous Lobster Roll meets that satisfaction. We chose to order Mason's soup combo, which consisted of $1 off one of Mason's famous lobster rolls and choice of soup between lobster bisque or clam chowder. We decided to get the class roll (lobster served chilled with light may & lemon butter) and clam chowder. The bread roll was crispy and buttery. There were decent sized lobster chunks. I personally would have enjoyed it with a little more mayo to make it creamier. The lobster roll also came with a pickle that was crunchy and juicy. Clam chowder was delicious and creamy. It would have been nice to have a little more clams since there were a lot of potatoes. Customer service was 10/10. The employee was very accommodating and offered to cut our lobster roll in half, since we were sharing one for a light bite. She also gave us two bags of the oyster crackers for our one soup. Overall, the store is small with few tables and some bar seats along the window, but very clean.

I've visited Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls twice, and both times, I had a pretty good experience. On my first visit, I tried the Connecticut Roll along with the lobster bisque. The roll was simple but satisfying. It was warm and buttery. The bisque was rich and creamy, though I would've loved a bit more depth in flavor. The second time around, I went for the lobster roll again but also tried the new warm crab roll. Both were good, but I really enjoyed the extra side of butter I ordered to drizzle over everything, it took the richness up a notch. Service was quick, and the space had a casual vibe. My only small critique is that for the price, I expected just a bit more in portion size or flavor complexity. Still, if you're craving a quality lobster roll without traveling far, Mason's is a good choice.

My first visit at this new restaurant that has been open for a month or two. A quaint shop with chill atmosphere and simplistic light decor! Instantly greeted by staff and offered the special of 15% off grilled Mac n cheese lobster roll. I unfortunately could not accept due to dairy intolerance. There are several styles of lobster rolls but I went with their classic roll to start with & very light butter. Came with a dill pickle! Delicious!

First of all, the customer service was 10/10! They were all so nice! The place is a little small but it was clean for the most part. No complaints there. We got the classic lobster roll, the crab roll, the clam chowder, and the lobster bisque. It is an extra $6 to add lobster meat to the bisque but it was worth it. It was delicious. Clam chowder was just okay. The butter on the rolls were 10000000/10!!! To me, that was the best part. The crab roll was a little sweet and had a very strong lemon flavor. Not my favorite but it was good. The classic lobster roll... the only thing that could have made that better was a side of melted butter to dip it in. That is big back activity but if it was offered, I would have gotten it! We will be back!

Mason's is now on my list of go-to's to satisfy a lobster roll craving. There was a fair portion of lobster in the roll and mac & cheese. I thought the lobster roll size was slightly larger than some competitors and priced at $20 which is cheaper than most. I liked that the roll came with a pickle because it helped contrast the butter. The mac & cheese was too runny for our taste but it has potential and was still enjoyable. It's a casual place with limited indoor seating and waiting space. They do have some outdoor seating available, which I would recommend to get some fresh air away from the kitchen smells. They have online ordering and an app. I'd order in advance next time to avoid waiting.

Got take out from Mason's recently after seeing it in passing and wanting to try it out. Forgot to take a picture once I got home but I got the Connecticut and husband got a warm crab roll. Both were simple, yummy and just what you would expect. Happy to have a place to get a good lobster roll in Midlothian. We ended up getting tots and the lobster Mac and cheese as sides. Our order total was about $70. I know lobster rolls are always pretty expensive so I wasn't mad at the price but it'd be nice to have a side included even if it added a couple dollars for a meal price. If I went back I'd get the rolls and skip the sides because they were lackluster compared to the sandwiches. The restaurant was clean and decorated for St. Patrick's day, and the staff were sweet to my toddler who was pretty inquisitive while we were waiting. Overall good experience and if I'm craving a lobster roll, I'll come back again.

I stopped by the new location and got a lobster salad that was simply amazing. The lobster was fresh and delicious and the ingredients in the salad complimented it very well. House made dressing delicious as well. I also got a free red potato salad (just say I love lobster at checkout) which was also delicious. Nice addition to Short Pump.

Make the lobster bisque edible. The cream base was curdled and grainy. The extra lobster I paid $7.00 for was two measly pieces.

It's a nice option to have in Midlothian since I don't love a deli sandwich! I got the Lobster Salad roll, the mayo, celery and lemon were light, but surprisingly flavorful. I've learned that while I love to eat whole lobster in drawn butter ... I don't love a warm lobster roll, it's just not as flavorful as a cold lobster roll. I also tried the clam chowder, it wasn't bad, but is it bad for me to say that the Clam Shack's refrigerated clam chowder you can get at Costco/BJ's/Sam's club is chunkier and tastier? At any rate, it was good to try, not sure I would frequent it all the time as I think getting something like a poke bowl I get more bang for my buck, it's actually cheaper! Still a good option to have in Midlothian though!

You can not go wrong with the lobster rolls here, if lobster isn't quite you're thing, crazy, but they do offer crab rolls and shrimp rolls. The rolls are buttery as werll as toasted and you ca get your protein hot or cold as well depending on your preferences. They have some combos depending on if you want size and or a drink. I did see they had a single dessert option, the whoopie pie if you want a little sweet treat. The clam chowder was good, lots of hearty chunks and piping hot with some oyster crackers. Standard fountain drinks and a small assortment of beers. The staff here are friendly and upbeat, the parking lot is a decent size, no problem with parking and the prices are standard for seafood so it is not super cheap. I think two combos were a little over 60 bucks, so don't be surprised, but the meal itself was delicious. I would come here again if given the opportunity.

Perhaps they do not know how to make it. Flavorless. 2. Ordered pork and shrimp egg rolls. Order came out in about 3 minutes - evidently not fresh, and they were also greasy -- see pic. 3. Ordered pho broth with noodles. Not much broth and all the noodles were actually clumped together (had to pull them apart) - see pic. Broth had a one-note, overly cinnamon flavor. As seen from pic, no space left for broth because so many noodles. Cheap way of serving food. 4. Ordered pork and sausage fried rice. Came out very quickly (evidently pre-made). Was very greasy and had an "off" flavor. Came at a non-busy time, and had food that was not prepared well. Will not return to this restaurant. I prefer Pho Tay Do, as do many Richmond-area chefs.

I'm so relieved that none of those traits got left behind at the old location! There's usually a wait, but they now offer outside tables for waiting or dining. So that's a plus. Where all the cakes and pastries are on display and for sale. So that trapped us on our way out. :-) And there's a dedicated door for take-out only, so if you order ahead you don't need to swim upstream of the other waiting diners to get in and grab your food, Here's something really innovative: Their parking lot is on the small side. I went with the soup of the day which was chicken orzo. My mom chose the lamb gyro sandwich and for her side she went with the veggie of the day which was roasted Brussels sprouts with honey. Overall I thought the food was good. It was definitely well-seasoned. The orzo in the soup was a little mushy for my preference, but the fettuccine was a good texture. The white clam sauce was loaded with clams and garlic. I really enjoyed my dish. My mom enjoyed her gyro sandwich, I did take a small taste of the lamb and it was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were probably my favorite of everything though. They were roasted perfectly, still a little firm with some crispier toastier leaves in the mix and a sweet glaze.
