Cute little bakery/coffee spot in Midlo! Ample room inside to sit and eat, study, socialize, etc. I think this would be a great place to co-work too! The staff were kind and accommodating, able to explain ingredients to avoid my partner's allergies. We sincerely enjoyed our sandwiches, both of which were served on their fresh sourdough bread! I love the variety on the menu, and I really enjoyed my latte as well. Tons of parking in the lot outside, and decent prices. My ONLY complaint is that I did think this was a local bakery, but found out they're part of a chain (although they could be locally franchised, I'm not sure). First of all, we used to visit the Great Harvest location in Annapolis, MD on a weekly basis. We loved that place. Today, cruising around Richmond, we were really excited to see that there was a Great Harvest Bread company CAFE! We learned from the very knowledgeable fellow who took our order that this is the first corporate-owned store! The rest are all franchised. While we waited for our ordered, we perused the fresh breads available for purchase. I pointed out one that sounded fantastic, but they were out. A young lady overheard me, poked her head around a rack and said conspiratorially, "They JUST came out and need to cool before we slice them, but if you want one unsliced, I can make that happen for you!" They were unfortunately out of bacon when we showed up for a late breakfast, so we had to pivot a bit. I ordered a Classic Ham: ham, egg, and cheddar on whole wheat bread... it was AMAZING! Seriously, probably the best sandwich of its kind that I've ever had. My wife ordered a roast beef sandwich, which she said was a bit fatty, but it had great flavor. As we were leaving with our order, the lady who made it asked if my daughter could have a treat, which I appreciated. She gave her a cookie as big as my head! My daughter's eyes lit up. Despite being out of one of our favorite things, we had an absolutely perfect experience today. They overcharged me by almost $4.00 for two sandwiches. When I brought it up to the cashier after I paid she said she would mention it to her manager. She obviously didn't. I asked another person who said they were the manager. They offered me a free pastry but not my money back. The takeout menu also has a different price than the prices list on the menu board and was different from what I paid. Service is terrible: we ordered a reuben on rye and it came on wheat bread. We asked for a loaf of rye with caraway seeds to take home and when we got home it had no caraway seeds. Our friends asked for 2 checks and they put everything on one. Very disappointing first experience. Ordered a costly loaf of white bread. It was so salty that I couldn't eat it. Did delivery, and I'm unable to drive for several months, so I couldn't return it. Also ordered a Rachel and it arrived on the wrong bread. The lack of the taste of rye bread changed the sandwich completely. It was an okay sandwich, but all I received for the inconvenience was a sticky note saying that she hoped I liked the honey wheat instead. A more professional response would be to subtract some of the cost, or include a future discount, for being given the wrong bread listed on their menu. I had a great lunch at Great Harvest Bread Co today! I was out running errands and found myself super hangry, but didn't have a lot of time. I popped into Great Harvest for a quick sandwich and was really impressed! The service here was really, really friendly. I loved that they asked for my name and continued to refer to me by name throughout my visit. It made it feel really friendly and homey. The atmosphere is really cozy and there are plenty of tables. I imagine it would be a nice place to meet a friend for coffee or to study outside of pandemic times. I ordered the Spicy Apple Bacon Grilled Cheese and can't wait to go back to order this again. The hot honey, bacon, and thinly sliced green apple combo is out of this world! They had a few other sandwiches and salads that looked really tasty too. There is also a pretty extensive coffee and tea menu that I look forward to trying next time I visit. Overall, I recommend Great Harvest. It's obviously a great place for lunch, judging by the crowd that was there when I visited. With excellent service, great food, and a cozy atmosphere, you're in for a treat! read more

This is a very calm and cute cafe. They have freshly baked bread and other bakery treats like scones and muffins. They also server espresso drinks and coffee. I got the kickstart breakfast sandwich a blue berry scone, and an americano. The portions are very good for the price, I had left overs and was happy to enjoy them later. I was visiting from out of town and decided to check out Great Harvest for breakfast. I'm vegan, so while ordering I asked for vegan options. I ended up getting a sandwich and coffee, and a pumpernickel loaf. Everything was delicious. As I was leaving, they told me vegan muffins had just come out of the oven! I am so excited to have another bakery spot in Midlothian; especially one that serves actually food and not just desserts. My husband and I walked here on their second day of opening. As expected it was incredibly busy and the staff was trying their best to keep up. We had a bit of a wait but again not a surprise due to the demand and newness of the business. I had the cinnamon roll which was MASSIVE! It's not like your traditional roll as the cinnamon and mixed into the dough. I would've preferred more icing but was happy overall with the consistency and flavor of the roll. My husband had a breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed it. While I waited outside with our pup an employee came out and gave us a sample of their homemade dog biscuits! They also give out free samples to their human customers. I love that everything is baked fresh. I'm looking forward to coming back for lunch! The sandwiches look delicious. There is a patio but it isn't furnished yet. The samples are AMAZING and so is the food! We had lunch after a softball game and it was the perfect spot to bring the whole family for a quick and good bite to eat. I will admit that the samples are rather filling but it did get me to purchase two loafs of delicious bread to enjoy at home. Our group had an assortment of soups and salads and even the kids loved the PB&J! Highly recommend!! Went here for the first time today with my sister for lunch. The praline latte with oat milk was amazing. My sister had the Portabella Bahn Mi in white bread. I had the melted rueben on marbled rye and a cup of the potato soup. We got bread to take home for my husband and doggy treats for the pup. I wish I had taken pictures inside it was great vibes, the staff were so nice and the quality and price was so agreeable. They also have membership points system. Omg so disappointing. Used to have one of these where I grew up in NY. Saw there was one in Richmond and got super excited! Well that quickly faded with the disgusting over-processed chicken that came in frozen and the salty, thick (not creamy) broccoli and cheese soup.
