In Boston one must hire a commercial waste hauler to dispose of a carpet. I hired MassJunk to remove the following items from my basement studio: 10X10 carpet; two large items of furniture ( a tall dresser and a tall bookcase); about 20 bankers boxes filled with books and 3 cans of paint. Can only join the chorus of praise for these guys. I had the world's heaviest ancient sleeper sofa that I needed to get rid of: all lead inside, or plutonium, maybe? I live on the second floor -- stairs only -- and the monstrous item didn't look like it would even fit through the doorway let alone around the hallway corners. But MassJunk dealt with it perfectly. I submitted a request on a Sunday, got an email within 2 hrs scheduling a next-day time, and they showed up within 20 minutes of the time estimate. I asked these 3 polite and cheerful folks if I could add on several additional items of junk besides the sofa, and was offered a reasonable charge for the additions which I accepted. These guys are great! I called about having an old hot water heater (still half full of water) and laundry machine hauled out of my basement. They came out the same day. When they arrived, I couldn't get the bulkhead door to open, and they cheerfully helped take care of that. There are no stairs in and out of the bulkhead, so things have to be lifted up about 8-10 ft to get them out. In addition, getting things in and out of the doorway into the bulkhead (inside the basement) is narrow and cramped. These guys removed the stuff quickly and easily. They were professional and friendly. I will most definitely call them in the future. As a bonus, they even helped screw the bulkhead door back on, which saved me the time and struggle. read more

Mass Junk was extremely easy to reach and responded promptly with a reasonable quote after a brief conversation of what we needed done (removal of sofa and loveseat from 2nd fl apartment with not much room to work!) Scheduling was flexible and fast and the actual task itself took no more than 10 minutes! They were right on time, too! Charged $200 for the job, which after much research looking for donation places that would pick up (hoping for free) and finding that our beloved couches were not in as good a shape as we who loved them thought they were, we had no such luck, and still would have the problem of figuring out how we'd get them outside ourselves for WM curbside pick up. So, we felt it was a reasonable charge we were willing to pay for the lack of hassle, sweat, (swearing) and tears it probably would have caused. Thank you Mass Junk! I needed a box spring lowered from my balcony because it couldn't fit down the stairs, and they handled it perfectly (and agreed to lower it on a rope rather than drop it three floors to the ground, after I expressed uneasiness about the latter option). MassJunk Gets the Job Done, and Done Well. We were left high and dry by Salvation Army when they didn't take our couch. Scheduled with them (SA) 3 weeks ago and on the day before our new couch arrived they refused to take it. (I thought they gave them to needy families, turns out they sell them.) We'll the review isn't about them, it is about the folks at MassJunk and how they politely and professionally bailed me out of what could be a mess. Talked to the owner the night before and he asked me to text him the info (cause he was driving). Told me no problem and that it would be gone the next day and he will do what he can to get the guys and the truck there before the new couch arrived. He even kept me up to date with texts the morning of the pickup. We'll I can report I am happily writing this review from my new couch and the old couch is gone. The Mass Junk guys stuck to their word and the price was more than fair. I just had a tenant move out of a rental property and I wish I had know about MassJunk back then.
