This last time left an unpleasant impression on me, so I'm looking for other places in the future. My husband had a rented suit from a friend's wedding, where he was the best man. We went in, and he tried it on. To me, the colors seemed off. He was wearing a dark gray suit and a vest. My husband's vest was light gray. I didn't think anything of it because the groom, when my husband asked, said it seemed correct. Fast forward to the wedding day, and my husband's vest was the wrong color. Thankfully, another groomsman had a spare vest, and he gave it to him. When returning the suit, I walked in and told them what happened and how the vest color was wrong. The guy I initially dealt with was apologetic, and I made sure to reassure him that accidents happen. A second man walked over, and that's when things turned. This second man working said, "Let me see the ticket," and went to look at the ticket. He said, "I've worked here for 20 years, and I've never seen this color." I was like, "Okay... yeah, I don't know what happened. All I know is you can see the vest and suit don't match." After that, he looked at me and went, "I don't even think we carry this color." That's when I stopped being nice because it seemed he was insinuating something. Past that point, I stopped talking to that man because what was I going to say? He's the one who's worked there "for 20 years." I didn't know what to tell him or why the vest wasn't a match. That was a Men's Warehouse mess-up. Not ours. They all sit on their phones in the main area and barely look up at you when you walk in. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Fast forward to 8/23, I drive over an hour to get to the store just for them to tell me that the tailor is working on another customer's stuff and would get around to mine shortly and to come back in 30-60 minutes. If they can make the adjustments while you wait, then why did I have to drive down twice for a total of 4 hours in the car? And what's the point of scheduling a pickup time if you're not going to have the items ready and make the customer wait anyways?

I have gotten great deals on the clearance racks along with the discounts. I find the store to be clean and the employees to be nice and helpful. I've bought jewelry with my Kohl's cash and ended up paying $0 to just a few dollars. Some of it is pretty cheap so if it falls apart after just a few months as a few pieces have, it doesn't upset me. What I can't stand about Kohl's in general is when you submit a review, they do not allow you to include details of the transaction (your overall experience), you may only review the product. I recently purchased two pairs of shoes on-line and ended up returning both. I received one pair in a few days, it took two weeks for the second pair to arrive. My review was not accepted twice because I mentioned the shipping time and the loss of the discount, even if I were to exchange for the same shoe in a different size. They tell you to call customer service about this kind of thing. That prevents potential customers from realizing the kinds of problems they may encounter when ordering on-line.

When I got there nobody greeted me so I went to the counter and the woman said that I was at the wrong counter so she pointed to another counter. Nobody was there so I was holding all my clothes that I was bringing to put there. Finally a woman came and said I needed to fill out a form and to leave the clothes. Their brochure said "Consignors can set up an appointment to meet with a staff member" so I was surprised that I wasn't meeting with anyone after having to set up an APPOINTMENT so I asked when I would hear. She said "set your clock for an hour and return". When I got home 15 minutes I got a call that asked me to come back to pick up my clothes because they weren't going to accept them. They could have done that right at my APPOINTMENT and saved me a lot of time. The main reason that they didn't accept my clothes was because they were too big. It would have been nice to have indicated that in their brochure so I didn't have to be embarrassed on top of my frustration with the whole process!

They never try to swindle or oversell. They will pull apart every shirt in that store for you to try on if you asked them to with a smile. These folks are professional. Is it different than the old "John Farley's", yes of course it is, it's under new ownership. I had not been shopping at J.F. for an incredibly long time, so I was not a yeas-long customer before they closed as many were, but I've had really great experiences at both. J.F. was a bit larger, and seemed to concentrate more on tailored suits and tuxedos than off-the-rack sport wear, outer, and casual, but Farley's still does tailored suits and still uses some of the same manufacturers. This means that if I need to replace a pair of pants on my charcoal suit which I bought at J.F. four or five years ago, I can. they have a lot of variety and carry a wide range of sizes across all of their brands, and they know which brands run small and which run large and will tell you! I'm a big, somewhat strangely proportioned dude, and yet just about every time I go here I manage to find something that I can wear comfortably. I remember on time we were talking about different manufacturers sizing and to prove the point they had me try on a Peter Millar XXL shirt and a Rodd & Gunn XXL. Millar fits me quite well, still a tad snug in the shoulders but fine. The Rodd and Gunn however wouldn't even come close to buttoning, there was about a 3 inch gap between the buttons and the holes! They predicted as much. So if you have a question about a brand, they will know the answer. They also carry 34 Heritage jeans, which are one of the only brand of jeans I wear for general use. The bottom line is that this is a top notch shop with top notch employees. It may not be quite as formal as J.F. and the below reviewer's situation is unfortunate, but when a business closes, gift certificates are no longer valid. It's a risk one takes with buying/giving them. If J.F. had sold the gift certificates after they had planned to close, they should have informed the person buying them that they needed to be used by a certain date and wrote that on the certificate. You can't really expect a store to give away free merchandise because someone sat on a gift for a long time or the former store failed to inform the purchaser of a potential close. I also know for a fact that John Farley informed people of their closing far in advance because every time iId go in to buy something for months before closing I was reminded at check-out.

Upon my first visit, I mentioned some issues I had with my feet, primarily my left foot, and how I was required to wear a shoe lift which might make fitting me with a pair of boots more difficult. Lee remained patient as I tried on several pairs of boots, all the time offering me suggestions. After about an hour, I decided on a pair of Timberlands. I bought a couple different pairs of duck pants along with the boots. A few days later, I unfortunately had to return the Timberlands because they became too uncomfortable due to the tongues cutting into my ankles. I also had to return a pair of pants because they were also uncomfortable. My returns were taken back with zero trouble. Lee recognized me and immediately went to work yet again finding me a comfortable boot. I must have tried on another fifteen pairs, and again, Lee remained patient and helpful, even while there were several other customers requiring his help. I had just about decided on a pair of Terra boots, however I still was not completely satisfied with how they felt on my left foot while walking. Lee took the boot out back and stretched it for me in an attempt to free up some space, no charge, and even brought the boot out to show me exactly what he was doing. With the Terras in hand, I went back up to pay. The gentleman behind the counter asked why I was unhappy with the Carhartt pants I returned. I explained how they felt like I was wearing a parachute, however I very much liked the Key duck pants that I had also bought, but they only had my size in one color. He offered to order me whichever Key pants I wanted, so I had him order two more pairs in different colors for me. When all was said and done, my balance was about a dollar, which he refused to take from me. Lee also appeared once again, and gave me a container of leather conditioner for free. All in all, I am very impressed with the customer service I received at HCWW. Lee is a true dying breed- I would never in a thousand years receive the same service from a big box store. I appreciate all his time and effort in ensuring I left with a comfortable boot. I will be back!
