I must be risky because I saw the reviews for this location and booked anyway ( and earned the Maverick badge in the process). I only had good things to say about my experience. I booked online on a Saturday for a Sunday appointment. I was called not long after my online booking and spoke with a staff member who walked me through everything that I would be getting and took my credit card number to hold the appointment. She also explained because it was 24 hours if I canceled I would be charged a fee, which I acknowledged. When I walked in on Sunday about 30 minutes before my appointment as asked, a staff member greeted me promptly, offered me water and had me fill out some paperwork. I was called back to the more serene waiting room where the lights were dimmed, and there was a fountain before my masseuse, Eugene came and got me. The room was very clean and peaceful and I received a full body massage and for an extra $10 a lavender sugar foot scrub. I liked my experience, everyone was attentive and pleasant and I recommend giving this location a shot if you want a massage. read more

I have had a subscription since Oct of 2025. Every month after my massage I would book a month out that way I didn't get charged extra. I only wanted my massage when my package covered it. Fast forward massage envy pulled a fast one on me. I went July 22, 2026 and then wanted to book out my usual month that way I did not get charged an extra $75 on top of my $85. The girl booked me me out for 26 days instead of 30. So, not only did I get hit for the $75 and then $85. So, I called and explained my situation and how the two charges took my card over the limit. They acted like they didn't care and stated it was partially my fault for accepting the date. So basically massage envy did not want to refund their mistake. I had a membership and never was able to get the person I wanted. It took time to close out my membership and yes they did on schedule take money out of my account which prompted me to close it out. Long story short I was a member of massage envy in 2024. Quit in June. Everything was fine. It was a battle to get the membership canceled. Got it done. All of a sudden this month they charge me. I've called everyday for a week to get it resolved, left messages and all. No call back. Went to the location today to talk to the manager, again who was supposed to call me back last week. She can't fix it for me. Only the franchisee owner can. Well the woman Alicia who owns it is of course no where to be found. Doesn't call back nothing. It's fraud what they are doing. It's predatory consumer practices. It's only $75 and I disputed it with my bank. Everyone I talk to about it has had similar experiences. They have class action lawsuits in other states regarding this. My venting rant. They have the worst customer service. It's why I quit. The girls at the front desk and the manager Brittany all act like you are bothering them. If you do get an appointment they cancel it on you. If they run late it cuts into your time. Only putting 5 stars so it will be seen. If I could I wouldn't put any. These stars are for the Therapists I worked at this location. As many reviews state, the owner DOES NOT care about the clients. There were multiple times people were canceled to put in a "higher tipping" client. There were paid gift cards in the desk that I was told NOT to give to the clients because "they already paid for it, if they forget about it it's not our problem". The Owner, Alicia treats everyone like they're below her and makes it clear that if you do anything she doesn't like your hours will be cut or you'll just be fired. After which I had to wait over a month for a check I could cash, and the only reason I was able to get it was because I went in and grabbed it personally after she blocked my number. (the first one was written in a way that no bank would cash). I was not an isolated incident, everyone I worked with has quit following my departure and has had almost identical experiences. I would highly suggest going ANYWHERE else for your massages. Unfortunately for the Therapists here, THEY ARE ALL AMAZING. She owns this location, the one in Christiana, AND Dover. read more

I came here for some RnR and no. Never will I come to THIS location again. I even emailed the company and have yet to get any response from the manager/owner whoever. So I'll drop my email right here from my June 29 visit. It is as follows: I am sending this email in regard to my experience at your location today. Today, I came in at 3:50 for my 4:00 pm appointment with Amy. Upon entering, the front desk receptionist was on the phone so I sat down. 5 minutes to 4:00 pm she told me I could go sit in the back area. In which I asked her the way to restroom and went back. I had been sitting in the back until about 4:08 because I was never checked in and Amy wasn't made aware I was waiting. I received a great massage with Amy. At the conclusion of my appointment at 4:58, I dressed to go check out. At front desk, I waited for receptionist to finish on phone again. Then, it took 40 WHOLE MINUTES for me to be checked out. This was extremely frustrating after coming in for a massage for anxiety and stress. I remained as calm as possible as I learned the receptionist was new and it was a horrible decision to leave her by herself if she is unaware how to do the job alone. She had to call someone named Cody (if I recall correctly) multiple times just to try to see how to check me out. This whole ordeal not only reversed all of the relaxation I had, but it added to my anxiety. I could not help but be as patient as possible as I knew it was not this woman's fault that she was not fully trained. But, to be held 40 minutes to check out was a pain. This was my first time at this location and this alone tells me not to come back. The receptionist didn't even know how to charge my card correctly. Then finally, charged it for the tip for Amy, but because the $10 for the aroma therapy wasn't added, I had to wait longer for her to figure out how to do that. If anything, I should've been able to keep my money for waiting 40 minutes AFTER my massage. I strongly feel like I should be compensated for my time and something needs to be done to adequately ensure that all employees are properly trained before leaving them alone. Very disappointed with my massage appointment. I have been to several massages places before and I was hopeful I would have a good experience. However I can confidently say I will not be returning. To start, my appointment started 10 min late due to a room not being set up on time for me. Then for the last 10 min of my appt, all I could hear was a loud squeaky vacuum cleaner outside of my door bc I guess someone was trying to get out of work fast and couldn't wait to do that until the end of my appt. So that wasn't really relaxing. As far as the massage, when I signed up online, I asked for a 90 min deep tissue massage. At the end, it asks if you want to add hot stones for an additional price. I thought why not, thinking I would get a hot stone treatment at the end of my massage. Instead, I was just rubbed with hot stones the entire time. It was relaxing, just not at all what I was looking for. I receive massages to alleviate tension in certain areas that I clearly write on my forms, not to just relax. The areas I very specifically asked to be worked on were treated the same as every other muscle in my body and no extra time was given. There was no extra time spent on tight areas. I believe I walked out just as tight as when I went in. If you are going for a relaxation massage, I think this could be a place for you (excluding someone vacuuming right outside your door), but other than that I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience. read more

The franchise owner literally does NOT care if you leave, there is absolutely ZERO loyalty when you are a weekly client. I have spent no less than $400.00 a month at this location for over a year and I can no longer walk through the doors. My therapist Colette is off the chart however EVERYTHING else is horrid. The owner continues to raise prices and thier services continue to get worse. They can't seem to answer the phone when you call however when your trying to check out and leave they won't get off the phone to assist you. I've had staff literally making me wait while they talk to the franchise owner about daily operating procedures. The last straw was, I had a standing appointment on Fridays, someone made an error and put someone else in that slot, the "new" manager didn't want to correct the error so we cancelled our membership, and again the manager could have cared less- I guarantee you my therapist was appalled as she got to hear it all on speaker phone. When I spoke to the owner after alot of these shenanigans and I told her I'd hate to leave and have to go to another place she informed me they were more expensive, when I responded that they weren't, she sure did NOTHING to keep me at her place of business and said nothing. I'm more than confident that my therapist will miss my cash tip every week and this owner LOST $400.00 per month in services because that's how much she doesn't care. I would not recommend this location or any other that are owned or operated by this owner- you will be disappointed and you will recieve nothing in return for your loyalty to her. read more

DO NOT USE- this location-The customer service is horrible and unprofessional.I was a customer since 2010 and while the therapist are good,the administration is terrible.They change managers and when I asked for the owner to call she did not bother.Due to back surgery I had several pre-paid(8)massages or more stored for use while paying monthly.I also had a breach on my credit card and called to update twice.They did not update and could not answer why so they continued to call me for payment.This went on for at least 6 months.At this point I remained concerned with where my credit information is and asked again for the owner to call-No call.One of the Representatives did call and after explaining yet again they offered me an discounted price for the missed months)?).I thought because they were careless with my credit card detail I did not owe them anything..They owed me an apology and a courtesy.They then sent me an letter via email and text indicating I owed for the past months or it would be sent to collections?. I was not going during this time at all.I again asked for the owner to call me.The manager was on vacation and they would leave a note for both.My intent was for this owner to understand that the front end is careless with private information,not professional and try to resolve the matter. Well, I hate to have do this, but this Massage Envy REALLY deserves this low rating. I have gone to over 5 Massage Envys across the US, some amazing, most are pretty good - this one was very disapointing. To start off, I entered the lobby and was greeted by an unprofessional front desk staff (also, no reminder call for the appointment, nor a mention of the "required" paperwork before the first massage). The front desk conversation was curt and I was "told" to go to the waiting room, not led. I went where I was ordered, experience told me where to go. I was not offered any water, which is standard Massage Envy Fair. So back to the front I went. The water arrived in a tacky styrofoam cup (usually in a nice glass with a hint of citrus - nice and refreshing). To say that everyone in the waiting was tense would be an understatement. The typical calming Massage Envy waiting room atmosphere was broken and needs fixing bad at this location! My review of the massage will follow later... Once my massage was over, I walked myself to the front, with no staff in sight. I was ready to make my typical large tip, when I was told that this Massage Envy does not take credit cards for tips - the only one I have been to that does not extend this courtesy/service. To make one thing certain, I will not be visiting this Massage Envy again. In fact my experience at this location was sooooo bad, I have considered the cancellation of the monthly massage program, which I have been part of for around two years! Please do not consider this location (which is unfortunately now my local Massage Envy) as a "model" for the Massage Envy "experience." So Massage Envy's corporate massage model is alright - for a decent monthly fee you get a one hour massage per month, and for me, having a membership also encourages me to go on a semi-regular basis. I've had a membership for about 1 1/2 years and this was the 5th location I have been to. Most locations are very professional and work hard to make your experience - all of it - relaxing and worth your time and money. My first impression was "meh" - the front desk staff was nice enough, but seemed a little less organized and less professional than other locations. My massage therapist (though not as warm and friendly as other therapists I've seen, but polite) gave me a great massage and addressed the areas I said were most tense - and even found some other areas I didn't even realize were knotty (I'd give him a 4-star review if this were just for him). But for the last 10 minutes or so of my massage, I could hear other employees talking extremely loudly from the break room; this is super unprofessional and I've never experienced this at any other ME location. Then when I went to check out at the front desk, I was shocked to find that they didn't have change for my $20 and they won't run a tip on a credit card. WTF? Your employees rely on tips for every massage, why would you not have change to enable the customers to do this? Every other location I've been to has change and will allow you to leave a tip on a credit card, I'm not sure why this location chooses not to but it's ridiculous. They told me to go next door to Trader Joe's to buy something and get cash back to give him as a tip, and they weren't even particularly nice or apologetic about it. read more

Went in today for my first prenatal massage. I was very excited as I have had massages before but not while I am pregnant. Everything was going fine until my massage therapist decided to talk during most of the hour appointment. I went in to feel relaxed and ended up having her talk to me for most of my appointment. I was also not happy that she was asking if I was vaccinated and telling me her thoughts and opinions. I did not go in to discuss my choices on vaccination during Covid and pregnancy and I do not appreciate her giving me her opinion. I was not able to relax and felt judged for my choices. If I wanted to talk about my opinions on Covid I would see my doctor. I still tipped as I work in the service industry and understand times are hard right now but I will not be returning to this location. read more

To start the woman at the front desk kept me on hold for 20 minutes when I called, when I arrived for my massage with Corey she had me fill out some paper work on an iPad. I was there for an hour massage which turned out to only be a 40/45 minute massage due to filling out the paperwork and waiting for my massage to start. Which was not that good to speak for itself. I see that many of these reviews are rather old but I agree very much with the last reviewer. I was so looking forward to my gifted massage from a friend. I have been getting massages on and off for more than 35 years. The guy was pretty good although his hands were rather chapped and I decided to try someone different the next time. This woman was okay - so gentle I could hardly feel it, though. I had decided to do the monthly membership of which I was told I could cancel at any time which turned out to be a lie. I guess that is how the rude front desk people make money for the business.I told her that the massage was too soft so she assigned me to another woman. This woman and the next one were so rough, I thought I'd break. I kept thinking they must feel that they are pushing too hard and maybe it would only be for a couple of minutes. I guess they are so poorly trained that they don't know their own strength? My sister is a professional massage therapist and trains others. They practice on each other a lot and give each other feedback. I am not paying to train therapists. I called to cancel and was told that I had to finish my year contract unless I get a doctor's note. No consideration of how these people hurt me. Only contempt. Be careful when transferring a massage. I was asked to pay the transfer fee of $10, which I paid. Then my husband was also asked to pay a transfer fee, this time it was $20. He did not know that I had already paid the fee, so he paid again (and more than he should have paid). When I discussed this with the front desk staff, they said they could not do anything about it and that I would have to talk to the manager who was not available. This issue never got resolved. I've been a member at this location for several years and have been consistently disappointed with the service and the inconsistent quality of the massages. I feel that as soon as you find a good massage therapist, he/she leaves. It appears from other reviews that this may not be the norm for Massage Envy locations, so I am going to try out a different location. read more

had a wonderful massage from Zena. However, the front desk staff, (as mentioned several times on this page) is miserable, rude, unorganized and unprofessional. Last night, I had a fantastic, relaxing massage from Zena. (Apologies if I'm spelling her name incorrectly). Walked out after massage to no one at front desk, waited 5 minutes for one of the women I could clearly hear in the back room to come out and wait on me. Then, a clerk comes out and sighs and says "I just want to go home" and starts checking me out. 10 minutes later, she still can't figure out how to do that and get the assistant manager. She's flat out miserable and unprofessional. Never speaks to me, no apologies for wait, tells me I'm difficult(b/c its a free massage) and then tells the woman behind me, "she's difficult, I'll take you now". WT?? Doesn't ask me, doesn't even look at me just moves ahead. So I sat down in a chair, its now about 15 minutes after walking out of the massage, and she's still said nothing nice to me or even explained the issue. Mind you- there are at least 2 other women in the back room at this point who could help check me or others out. Nope, she just kept talking about how difficult I was. and the only reason I waited was b/c I didn't want to stiff the massage therapist on her well deserved tip. I finally walked out, got cash and handed the tip to the massage therapist. The manager was at the front desk at this point and unless she was blind clearly saw I was upset and said- is there something wrong? Let me begin by saying I'm not a massage person. Not so touchy-feely. Hell, we even sleep on opposite sides of the bed (we love each other to death and the three dogs sleep between us) but I digress... but am definitely not an expert on the art of rubbing muscles (get your mind outta the gutter). I got suckered into a year membership- went in for a trial $39 massage and it was pretty good, so I impulsively signed up for a year long membership. It works like this- they deduct a certain amount from your checking account (maybe 60 or 70 bucks) each month and that gets you, at the minimum, a one hour massage. If you want to up your time to 90 minutes, your out of pocket is only like ten bucks. So, if you regularly want a monthly massage and are going to do at least 90 minutes each time, a membership is for you. If you don't use your massage for that month, it sits in your account. So, if January you don't go, you can go twice in February. Anita was my massage therapist the first time, and she was good- professional and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Went a few times when she wasn't working, and got another woman who was very chatty the entire hour. After my year was up, I still had two or three massages I paid for and didn't use. When I opted to not continue another year, I forfeited those, which sucked because I had already paid for them. Made a reservation for my husband once, by the way, and had to cancel (unfortunately) right before his scheduled time---- yes, I know, a sin in the service industry. But, hey, it happens. Massage Envy was far from understanding- actually had to speak to a manager to get my deposit refunded for the hour. read more

Do not go to this Place. They are all about the dollar and do not provide customer service to members. They operate like a sweat shop for massages. I was given incorrect information in reference to my account from one of their less than knowledgeable staff members and they cancelled my account and I lost over $600 in prepaid massages due to their lack of customer service and knowledge. My husband and I had a couple's massage today. Service at the front desk was fast, professional and personable. The massage therapists were wonderful. They were both accommodating, very professional, and provided excellent massages. About a half hour after leaving, I realized that my wedding ring fell out of my pants pocket, so I called, and they went into the room and found my ring. The place was clean, serene, and they didn't try to up-sell me on anything additional that I don't need at check out.
