So, I've been a member at this massage spa for years, and lately, it's just not what it used to be. The manager is kinda rude, and what's worse, the owner lets her do whatever she wants. During massages, employees often complain about her. I've been trying out different locations because I can't stand her attitude. DO NOT go to Downey Massage Envy Downey!!! I am unfortunately stuck until I use up all of my credits. They do not have available slots that fit my schedule. They do not have deep tissue massages available daily. It is practically impossible to get a hold of the manager. Every single time I have tried speaking with the manager they say, "Unfortunately she is not available at this time." Then when you ask them what day and time is best to speak the manager they say ,"Unfortunately we don't have that information." What business place does not post the managers schedule??? They wanted me to sign up for another year service in order for me to avoid loosing over 12 credits!!! It wasn't until I informed them that my lawyer would be calling them and that I would be going to social media that all of a sudden they were able to give me all my credits back but I had to sign up for month to month. read more

Well... this is my second time at this location. I use to go to a different one 11 miles away and it was getting too much for me when I had this location less than 5 miles away. I was introduced to Amanda who paid attention to me and made me feel so good in 60 minutes. She suggested that I would feel even better with a 90 minute session. So yesterday I had a 90 minute massage. It was so amazing. I so totally recommend it. It was a full body and including facial massage. It's been 24 hours and I still feel great!! Unfortunately their membership is not worth it for any service. Your hooked on a year worth of membership yet when scheduling appointments it's the most difficult to do. I was finally able to book an appointment for a facial today calling it in a day before . To my surprise for them to tell me I was booked for a massage. Annoyingly I been trying to book an appointment for my facial for a few weeks now and either you have to do it a week out or the latest is 5pm . Ridiculous! read more

I have been going to this location for 3+ years. Today I had the worst customer experience ever. My interaction with both individuals I spoke with had no customer service experience, at least from what was expressed to me. There was no empathy or acknowledgement of what I was complaining about. The Downey location has terrible front desk receptionists. Rude unfriendly service and incompetent with scheduling. I was rescheduled for a later time (with an attitude) because the person who booked my appointment over the phone marked the wrong Monday. Apparently, 60 minute massage includes 5 minutes to undress, 5 minutes to dress, and time you go to the bathroom. There is a clock in the rooms so you can clearly see the time. My service started at 2:40pm and was done at 3:25pm. I can count! But i didnt argue the point because i used a certificate and thought maybe there was some mention of the time difference indicated. Looking at it after, there wasn't. I'll be reaching out to corporate instead since it was clear that this location lacked quality in service and hospitality so i didnt want to waste my energy there read more

Updating because this location was not accommodating at all during quarantine. Despite multiple attempts to freeze my account so I wouldn't be charged while this location was closed I was still charged every month. Then when they opened I was left with over a dozen accumulated hours that I am just getting through. Im finally able to cancel my membership and be done with them, not until they charged me another month. So I had to pay once more before I could cancel. I found a better location in Pasadena, that's where I used up all my hours and plan on using this last one. read more

I rarely give 5 stars. I have never gotten a facial before and was nervous because i have very sensitive skin. I went in and Olivia was my aesthetician. She was amazing. So kind and friendly. I explained to her how I have very sensitive skin and she was so accommodating. It was a really relaxing environment and we were talking the whole time, which I really appreciated. She was explaining each step to me as she was doing it. Highly recommend this place. The Management and environment is very professional and friendly. HIGHLY recommend Olivia. read more

This is an update to my most recent review for which I gave 1-star. I received contact from management. The manager said that she verified my check-in and out times; spoke with the therapist; and then offered to comp an hour for my next scheduled appointment. In regards to that appointment, the therapist (Sangwon) met me at the door and promptly began. In fact, I have never had an appointment begin on time. He was attentive, and I received the full 80 minutes of service. For the first time, the music didn't play until the service was almost over, but otherwise the appointment went well. read more

This is one of those places you go to if you don't know any better. No uhhhhffense. So, I had this gift card that enabled me to get two services in one day. The 30min stretch (really, it was 20mins) and 60 mins full body (really, it was 45 let's not joke ourselves.) Stretch: "LMAO" is the perfect word. do not waste your time and money. No shade to the girl who did my service. She was professional, thorough and even had a soothing tone to her voice. But I'm sure if she could've been like "ma'am, u can do these stretches watching YouTube and do these at home by yourself" I know she would. Therefore, nothing spectacular about this service. I've definitely experienced better stretch therapy services elsewhere!! 60min full body: so I had this lady (will not mention her name) who I was told could do deep tissue massages. So im pumped! I'm thinking, yessss my upper body knots and lower leg soreness will get some tough love!!!! Bish, no. Lol. This lady was rushing through the massage like she was just ready to go home. Moved my body around like I was bothering her day. And was just rubbing oil on me as her massage and was like "ok! You're all done service is over". I knew that coming into a massage envy vs the regular places I would go would be one of those things I wouldn't be happy about. To use this experience as an example, this place was like burger king when you're used to shake shack lolll Anyway, Would i come back? Probably not.
