Customer service is bad. My sister has an account and my mom is on her account. My sister made an appointment for me and my mom for a birthday gift. When I showed up with my mom for the appointment I was on the appointment but my mom wasn't on the appointment. They made a mistake and put my sister instead. I told them that my sister set it up and she put both of us on the appointment. They said sorry but we are going to have to charge you cause your sister is not here. They wouldn't budge and wouldn't change it to my mom even though she was a member on the account. So my mom didn't get a massage and I ended up paying $60 for the cancellation. read more

After driving half an hour early Sunday morning she was told they couldn't do massage because she was pregnant. Employees would not explain why or do anything to rectify the situation and told her no massage. First time ME guest. Arrived for my facial 10 mins early was escorted to a room on time. Caitlyn spent the first 10 mins discussing my issues and their advanced skincare options and I felt she was very knowledgeable. I decided to try Oxygenation and was aware the advanced care would not extend my appointment past the 60 minutes booked. After products assembled, etc, my facial began 5 mins later and was completed in 35 mins! I was checked out and nearly home at the same time my 60 mins was up! I feel taken advantage of, especially paying the upcharge for the oxygenation treatment. The last straw was getting a 'third party charge' to tip on my debit card (same way I paid for my services) instead of cash. Had the services been $100 instead of $220, I would have been satisfied. But given the price, it is unlikely I will go back. read more

I am happy regular costumer of Massage Envy. The most important things about this place are great care and positive attitude every time i visit. I like that they ask in the application form about desired pressure of massage for different areas (pressure is one of the most important things about massage!) I had an experience of relaxing painless massage for the couple. It was amazing! I wish I could do this every week. Highly recommend. I recommend also to get a hot towels update foe massage. I had a monthly membership for over a year, which I used for facials and I really liked it. But then in spring of 2022, they kept calling me to reschedule my appointments because aestheticians kept leaving the location. I got fed up and decided to cancel my membership, but I still had multiple credits on my account to use up. That was when I met Daniella. She gives phenomenal facials, especially the Microderm. I'm having a chemical peel with her in two weeks. Because of her, I am reconsidering getting my membership back up and running. The salon is nice and I never have to wait for my service, everything is always been on time and it's a great location. The facial products that they sell are extremely expensive, however if you feel like splurging, they are all excellent. read more

Execution with regards to booking appointments has been diminishing and unsatisfactory. Two examples: (1) misbooked appointments at the front desk that had to be discovered and then corrected by me, and (2) appointments being cancelled all together with little/short notice and without much recourse. (2) is particularly ironic and sensitive since there is an expectation that clients cancel and reschedule appointments with 24 hrs notice/lead time or else we get charged. I hope this feedback provides some genuine retrospection on how to improve customer experience. Because the execution and service of appointments basically tarnishes an otherwise good experience from a massage therapist perspective. Thus the 2 star rating. Bad experience ever, I called to make an appointment and they ask me for my credit card information which I gave it to them, next day when I called them to reschedule the appointment regarding to the bad crazy weather out there , they stole my money from my credit card so I had to cancel all my appointments and decided not to go there anymore, not recommend at all, and you guys make sure that you don't give them your credit card information because they're going to still your money, be careful and check your bank account all the time.. I called not to cancel the appointment, I called to reschedule for next day because my car was not turning on because of the bad weather, I even talked to the manager that I'm having an emergency that's why I'm rescheduling, but the manager told me to find a way to get there otherwise they'll charge me, she even told me told me to walk to make it there, how rude, if my car is not working because the snow weather how I'm gonna walk to make it to my appointment, they don't care about people they just care about how to make money.. I received a gift card to Massage Envy, and chose this location to use it as they had an opening for a long massage that I wanted on the date I was available. I selected a hot stone massage, and it was wonderful and relaxing. My masseuse did a really nice job and was friendly, as was all of the staff in the front of the house. We even had a bit of trouble with one of the gift cards (it had been entered incorrectly), and the manager was able to help her staff look it up via a different method to save the day. Called a week ahead to book an appointment on Thanksgiving week, and was told that I'm booked for the 22nd. I got there to find out that they booked me for Dec. 22. My wife purchased a gift card last year for a facial and 90 minute massage, so I got a gift card that says exactly that, with an amount of $163. They also put some coupons in there which wasn't part of the deal. They won't honor the services purchased with the gift card and charged $125 for the facial. $38 left won't even be close to pay for a 90 minute massage. Absolutely horrific, the stretching and massage was okay...however the massage room was cold azz hell! I had to ask for a portable heater. The rooms are bland, plain and has an unclean look and feeling. While doing the "stretching" the therapist asked me to lay face down on their nasty massage table, when I did, I could have sworned I smelled pure ass on the sheets and it wasn't mine!! This location SUCKS! The lobby area is nice but the rooms are uncomfortable, COLD AZZ HELL, smelly and plain. No aviance, peaceful serene environment with candles,pre- warmed massage table, dimmed lights and a soft fragrance smell in the air with nice relaxation music. I love this place! Mandy is the best therapist ever-since day one for my wife and I. Mandy is the Yoda of massage therapy. So attentive and I swear she knows exactly where my pain is. She's quiet which allows me to just enjoy her massage and not think or carry on a conversation. She has just the right pressure and is focused on the right pace. I've had other therapists who rush or are just too fast which makes me tense. Mandy does not do that. Instead, she focuses on addressing your/my issues. Bad time for this review due to the break due to the covid virus- but I've been meaning to write this for awhile. I am beyond annoyed with this business. I really wanted a 90 min massage and a facial but I didn't reach out until Wednesday so knew getting everything I wanted on a Saturday was probably unrealistic. I went online and put in what I wanted and the time. I got a pretty quick call back (within 2 hrs) and the uoung lady let me know that there was no facial available and that i couldn't get in for a massage until 4:00. I booked the massage, happy to have that at such late notice. About 3 hrs later I got a message saying that my time request for a facial was unavailable. I thought it was strange but ignored the call. I worked out and ran then ran home to shower and still make the 20 min drive to Massage Envy. When I get there I'm told I'm booked for a facial, not a massage. That is NOT the conversation I had at all. They then said I could wait around a half hour for a 50 minute massage, totally not worth it. I am switching my membership to another facility and, if they can't get it straight, I will cancel my membership. read more

This is going to be long, I apologize in advance. So, let me start off by saying I was 15min late for my appointment, due to conditions out of my control. I got my first massage ever, here last Friday, and there was a large car accident on Sutton Road, which caused me to be late. Apparently that's a huge NO-NO in this place. I hurried thru the paperwork, and met my massage therapist Fernando. He was told it was my first massage, so he ran thru what we were going to do. He was very professional and made me feel super comfortable. Which was something I was worried about, being just about naked in front of a stranger doesn't seem super relaxing to me. Fernando also told me that he would add on 15min to the end of my massage, making it the full hour, understanding why I was late. I have a lot of tension in my neck, I also get migraines frequently, which is something I told Fernando. He told me massages could help that. The entire massage was the perfect firm pressure, until he got to my neck. It felt terrible. He was pressing much harder than he had been. I said "ouch" a few times & adjusted myself making it known he was hurting me, just in case he didn't hear me saying so. He finally stopped & said the massage was over & he would be waiting outside the door for me. When I sat up, I was incredibly dizzy. It took me a while to get my head together, I literally felt sick. When I looked at the clock, I noticed he hadn't added any extra time on to the massage like he said he would-I understand I was late, I wasn't expecting any special treatment, but why say you're going to do something & not do it? When I walked out, Fernando gave me a cup of water & walked me to the front & said goodbye. Carolyn was the receptionist that checked me out, when she asked how I liked my massage, i told her I was feeling ill & my neck hurt. She barely blinked & continued to try and sell me their monthly membership package. "Because it would save me money" I told her I wasn't interested, and with my busy schedule I didn't have time. A friend I came with to get the massage ended up signing up for the monthly membership, which kept me in the building much longer than I wanted to be. I would say that Carolyn was relentless on trying to sell me this membership, she basically didn't want me to say no--when really I was questioning whether I was ever going to come back. An hour later, my mind was made up when I came down with a terrible migraine. I went to bed hoping I would wake up feeling better--what a joke! Fernando has warned me that I may be a little sore the next day.. Funny thing is, my back was completely fine.. My neck on the other hand was not. My migraine was worse & my ears felt plugged. After calling my doctor and confirming this wasn't normal, I called to speak with someone about the terrible massage. Stephanie answered & when I explained my situation she said "oh no, that isn't normal. We will have to talk to the massage therapist and see what happened" When she called me back she told me that all she was "allowed" to say was that this situation was being brought to managements attention & someone would call me back. I believe the managers name was Mandi. She "assured" me that migraines are normal after massages for some people, and to make sure I was drinking enough water. Which brings me to another point, Fernando never mentioned I should be drinking extra water, because of the toxins in your body after a massage. I truly believe that Mandi was just covering up a mistake one of her massage therapists made-she tried to convince me to come back in, but that ship had sailed. Simply amazing.... After a terrible massage last month at the Bloomingdale location my bestfriend and I decided that we were going to try this location given it's close to our homes. ZING!! JACKPOT!!! I asked my bestfriend to make us appointments and to make sure that I had a girl therapist this time so I was given Cynthia. Our appointments were for 7pm and we were greeted and taken to our rooms pretty quick. So I got out on the links for the first time this season. Ouch, I strained my back muscles and need a massage right away. I know it was last minute but I called 4 M.E. locations to ask for an appointment. ALL of them asked me the same question "was I a member?", going so far to tell me that "the last appointment of the day is reserved for members" (and I can't have it whether it's free or not.) I gave up my 'members only' jacket in the 80's along with my parachute pants and my back still hurts. The way they do business follows the health club model, it's a HARD sell for memberships. If I was to write this review prior to meeting Mandy (at my second massage) it probably would not reflect 5 stars. However it was never a negative experience either, just standard custom service. Booking treatment is very easy. Even though Mandy's schedule is booked out, I do not mind the wait-she's well worth it. She is very very good at what she does. I remember the first time I was scheduled with her...I was crabby and doubted her ability to provide a deep tissue massage. I was wrong lol. Very wrong. For me massage is great and relaxing but when I go in I much rather have a treatment customized to my body and what my issues are. Mandy is the girl to see for truly customized & effective treatments. She is so sweet too. Really cares : ) I have since sent my Mother and many others her way. There are two ladies at the front desk that I wish I knew their names as they deserve a shout out. One of them doesn't necessarily have great customer service but I totally respect her Sales skills. Ridiculous cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to reschedule they will charge you the entire price of the missed appointment and charge full price for the new appointment. However, one of the owners contacted my wife and myself and worked everything out so I have increased my rating. She was very professional and handled our issue with respect. Jim and Catherine are who my boyfriend and I see at this location. They are so knowledgeable that I can't see paying for a groupon or any other deal anywhere else. Both therapists have a great deal of experience. Jim having worked over a decade and within a pain relief clinic/office. Massages are not just about feeling relaxed but to relieve pain, stretch sore or tight muscles, and to reset the body. This all equals relaxed to me! But I find a ton of therapists who have not been able to relieve pain in a lasting way. I have been to a couple of massage envy locations, and my actual massage with Britta was very good. She didn't try to use too much pressure which sometimes massage therapists tend to do. My only problem was that usually one of the reps comes to talk to the customer to review everything, and nobody came over to me or my partner when we went to visit (it was his first time there). They had us fill out the health history, but nothing happened beyond that. When I went into the room, my massage therapist asked what areas I wanted to focus on, but that was about it. They definitely try to pressure you into getting a membership, so just beware of that and stick to your guns if you don't want a membership, then don't get one. My girlfriend tried to cancel her membership a month ago with Caroline over the phone and she stated that she put the cancelation in the log notes and canceled it herself, and we just received a bill for it. As for massage price - very fair. Only complaint is that since I'm a "member," I pay a monthly fee and earn a "free" monthly massage. I never have time to use them so I currently have ~20 of them 'banked.' Thankfully they roll over, but it does get expensive to use the service this way. This place used to be awesome! They had a lot of really good therapists and friendly front desk staff. I signed up for the membership and loved it! However, it seems now they're hiring anyone that applies. Just about every time I go in the front desk staff is different, and they always have an attitude. Also I've seen a lot of different therapists over the past few months and none of them have been worth the money. I am fully aware that ME hires a lot of new grads, and that's great! But the lack of interest from all of them is less than desired. It's easy to tell when you're therapist doesn't care about your session and that has been my experience here lately. My best example would be my last session. The whole time my therapist huffed and puffed and cursed under his breath throughout the entire session like me being there was so inconvenient for him. He slammed his hands down on me a few times and definitely fell asleep multiple times. He also dragged the stool around, bumping it into everything, and either sat/kneeled on it for most of the session or sat on the table, a few times on top of my arms, because god forbid he stand while massaging. As an LMT myself I completely understand being exhausted and over booked but it is beyond unprofessional to take it out on your clients. Overall, this location is no longer one I would recommend. But don't let that stop you from trying another. read more

I love this location! I live closer to the Schaumburg location but I will drive further just for the better atmosphere and therapists at the Hoffman location.
