Had a scheduled appointment for 90 minute massage with cupping. Booked the appointment through the ME app. Selected a therapist that did medium and deep tissue massages. I arrived for my appointment and got checked in. Therapist came and took me to her room. She was coughing and shared she is getting over being sick so to forgive her when she coughs during session. (Mind you, she could be wearing a mask rather than coughing in the small rooms with patients). I appreciated the transparency. She went on to say that due to getting over sickness, she can only do light pressure. I asked why no one called since my profile specifically stated medium to deep tissue. She couldn't respond. I asked if I should reschedule and she again, couldn't reply. I went to the front desk to shared the issue. They stated that she does medium pressure primarily and I shared that's not what the booking site says. I assume there was not a therapist available at the time since that was not offered as an option. All that was offered was "we won't charge you". read more

Pretty disappointed today. Water machine in relaxation room still lot of order. Been months now. Facial got started late and ended wayyy too early for a 90 minute facial. Probably a good 15-20 minutes left off of treatment. Always give atleast a 25% tip - and still did this time. But front desk person asked if I was sure I didn't want to give more because they were "slow". Will re-think this ME in my area for sure. read more

No surprise this place has a low rating! Went in for a 60 minute massage. Had a voucher that stated one free 60 minute massage and voucher never expires! Get to the front to pay and guy tells me it's not valid. A gift from my sister in law and had the paid receipt. Then give him the second voucher (which was for my husband's massage) and he tells me there is $51 on it. What??? That's doesn't even make sense. It was a 60 minute voucher massage, it doesn't say anywhere on the card that it held a specific value. So someone goes in pays for a 60 minute massage as a gift, but when the person uses it...there is a specific amount on the voucher and they want to charge you the difference for the massage?!? I was upset to say the least. My sister in law was totally scammed by them. Then he says he can't help what other locations did to her. Umm...no sir the receipt clearly says university oaks. They charge you every month for a membership and if you want to stop the service you have to use up the credits you have in 4 months. We were told we could continue to hold the credits for 6 months if we cancelled the account and used them up. 4 months expired and all the credits evaporated and they started billing us again even though we cancelled the account. It bothers me when I've been supporting a business for years o my to be treated like I've asked for some exception based on my actions If I cancel my appt the same day, I'm charged a whole $70 If they call and cancel (both sides can have the same reasoning) the same day a simple complimentary add on can't be supported. As for me. I'm a veterans with pain daily. I skipped another engagement to go see the massage therapist and in hopes the excruciating pain I have in my shoulder would be resolved. Have been a member for numerous years. Went with Massage Envy because I move a lot, and they have many locations. The ones in the Austin area lack the staff to stay open. Their hours are restrictive. Trying to get an appointment is over a month out. Then they cancel and reschedule. Then, an hour before, they cancel again. If a member were to cancel an hour before, they would still charge for thw massage. Very disappointed. Signed up to be a member of Hand and Stine. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and professional. The woman who did my massage, I believe her name was Vanity, I wonder what kind of training she had. I have 2 main complaints: 1.) On my stomach, when she was done massaging my upper body she pulled the sheet up over my head! I've never had that happen before. Usually it is tucked in around your shoulders. It felt almost dismissive & it was claustrophobic. 2.) On my back, she did my head and neck and that's it. Usually your arms and legs are massaged as well. I left with a half body massage. She did a phenomenal job working out tension in all the usual culprit locations (shoulders, neck, traps) and she even worked out tension on my chest which never crossed my mind to consider a tension spot. Then, I got to checkout and the bullcrap that far too many of us have become accustomed to commenced. Nothing turns me off more than a business that is reckless when giving information over the phone, only to shrug and be unapologetic when the customer arrives and the "truth" suddenly becomes crystal clear. Ill never do online appt. again. They just threw anybody at me for my specific needs that needed to be addressed. I think the difference is when I call and tell what I need and what kind of person I like it would have probably better service. Tall tale signs that this was not The right person was looking at her fingernails. They were very very long fake nails. The kind that so long that it curls. So the power of her massage is mostly in her palms. She asked about the problem areas and I told her about my surgery on my cervical spine C2 C3 C4 & C5. I told her that the areas of my stress and to Concentrate more pressure all the surrounding areas of that spot. The arches of my feet also need attention because I am flat footed and my arches get sore. Well she must have had her own routine that she does because she ignored all those places. C2 C3 and C4 and C5 is right below the base of the neck which you reach when client is facing down. She did not go anywhere around that area she concentrated on the ball of my shoulders and my arms when I was face down and some of my lower back below the shoulder blade. Completely isgnored shoulder blade, traps and base if neck. She doesn't even know where those areas of the cervical spine is ? That says a lot about how well-informed their masseuse staff are. Down to my feet.... everything Got rubbed except the arches.??? I don't know what that was about. Again, she must've had her Own routine going on that she is used to and did not pay attention to what I requested. All in all I notice she like to focus on the arms when I was laying upward and when I was laying downward. Note to massage envy, that's not where stress lay. On most people its in their shoulder necks and traps. Another thing is that your time is very precious they are very expensive per minute so I don't think it's fair that I had someone spend a lot of time just holding my ears and Temple For five minutes plus as if that's a calming affect. Because of my injury I have had all types of massages and I have had a concentrated array Of massage therapy for the last 10 years. Massage envy seems more like fast food service rather than focus based professionals. They have more run of the mill masseuses. Very disappointing. This was supposed to be $120? Very disappointed in the customer service by the front desk. I had a pre-natal massage and soon after getting home I was in excruciating pain. I can't sit, stand, lay comfortably. When I called to see if they would do a 5-10min adjustment I was told I could book another 60minute massage. Your therapist is the reason I'm in pain. Surprisingly this is my first time at massage envy. I've seen them for years but never tried. Given how much I love massages, it is kind of weird. I finally gave them a shot after recovering a gift card for valentines. I was not disappointed. I was greeted quickly. Surprised that there was only a small couch out front. Found out that there is a secret waiting area for those in the know. Lol. It was nicely appointed. I did miss some of the spa atmosphere though. They had water but not the nice fruit or cucumber water I've grown to love of my spa experience. The room was a little nicer than a doctors waiting area but not by much. The forms to fill out weren't horrible by any means but would have been nice online so I could have just brought them with me. The wait was uneventful and passed quickly. I started with a massage. The therapist came to get me and take me to the room. She quickly asked me the typical questions and set to work pretty fast after I was unclothed and on the bench. I have to say that the massage table was the best I've ever used. It was comfy and wide enough. I'm a big gal so feeling secure is important to me. And the face cradle was. FABTASTIC. The best I've ever used. I always and I do mean always end up with sinus pressure and congestion every time I use one. It's just worse when I'm already suffering. Well this time I was suffering but never had a twinge. Amazing. The massage was great. She was efficient and not overly talkative which I love. I was a little surprised when she started with my feet but it worked great. She was aggressive on some knot areas but only because I'd told her those were problem areas. She checked with me when I winced and soon accepted that I didn't mind a little pain to get them worked out. All in all a splendid experience. The only downside if you will was I'd have liked a little more lotion but then I take responsibility as I should have said so I suspect. Next was my facial. I was able to stay in the same room and the esthetician came to me. That is a real treat. I hate having to wait in the waiting area half nude. My only concern in learning that was that meant no running water. You may not care about that but it's big to me. I typically leave feeling unclean when there is no running water. Not so here. I'm not sure how she did it but I heard pouring several times. She was quick, efficient and again not chatty. Big plus in my opinion. She spoke knowledgeably which always puts my mind at ease. It was a great facial. I felt like she got my entire face, neck and chest area. Again a plus in my book. I'd go back for sure. At checkout she recommended a couple of items and again was informational without being pushy. I actually bought them. All in all a great experience I was surprised they didn't ask me about joining. Had they done so, I probably would have. They did ask me to set another appointment but I wasn't sure how the pricing would go without joking and decided not to. But I'm still considering it today. The experience was great. Not quite as pampering as many spas but that is just extra fluff anyway. One suggestion is that they have explanations about their enhancements and that they ask if people what them. I like the no up-sale don't get me wrong but I might have liked one. I've been coming to this location for over three years. I love getting massages here. Stephanie is my current therapist and does an amazing job. I am really sensitive and she starts slow and works out my kinks! I have tried different therapists and I agree with other Yelpers that sometimes when they are running late you get short changed because they always end on time. I love the rooms and the heated tables. The music is soothing. Only thing is to try not to get a room right at the front since you can hear people through the door and it is a little distracting. Please don't use massage envy. We signed up for a membership right before covid. I realize that was a trying time for everyone. They wouldn't allow us to cancel the plan even though they were not open. We have called many times and the location near us is still closed. We do not have another location close to us. We ended up closing the card the membership was on so they couldn't auto draft it no longer. I wish I would have never gone there. I was treated by my mother to a massage!! What could go wrong! First I was sent a text message to confirm the appointment with no address in the text. I showed up to an empty building. I called and found out the location I was at was closed down. Got to the correct location right on time. Saw my mother and was called back. Massage went great. Then came the time to pay and as my mom has many credits that had not been used let me use her credits. The first thing the woman said was "Did you transfer everything from the Arboretum".. I quietly asked my mom what that meant. Apparently when the round rock office closed they transferred everything to the Arboretum office without notifying the customers.. my mom lives in Georgetown..Then the lady proceeds to say " I told you last time you were here you had to do that" first of all my mom's never been to the Arboretum Massage Envy so why she would have to call them for something from the Arboretum made no sense to me. The lady was so incredibly rude and talking down to my mother I sat there and listen to her and then she said well there's gonna be a $20 fee because they had to call and transfer it??? She it was so incredibly inconvenienced because she had to pick up the phone and call and have that information transferred over. It ruined my entire massage. At what point do you think it's OK to raise your voice or to talk condescending after someone has a massage into an elderly person. I called yesterday after lunch and got a 6:30pm appointment for a 90 min massage. For the past 2 weeks, I had been renovating a rental home so all that time spent scraping off the popcorn ceilings, painting the cabinets in the kitchen and also bending over to paint the cabinet doors was making my lower back, neck and shoulders ache. Since I was going to work on the house this weekend (and hopefully my last weekend), I wanted to make sure I was 100%. This place is brand new in the plaza so everything is still nice and shiney. If this is your first time here (it was mine), they escort you to a quiet sitting room to fill out some paperwork--was really nice! Then, your massage therapist will greet you in there, talk for a few min about what you want done before leading you to a private room. You undress to your comfort level and slide under the covers. We started face up so my massage therapist could work on my neck and shoulders first while my back was being warmed by a heating pad. Then, I flipped and then it was time to work the back. At some point I must have dozed off because I woke up to myself "breathing really loudly" (I had allergies, ok?) and before I knew it, the session was over. My massage therapist's name was Linda I believe. She was very professional and worked out the knots I had...I left feeling MUCH better! The massage is $57 for 90 mins. for first time clients only. When you pay, they give you a schpeal to join their membership of $49/month to get an hour long massage every month. It's perfectly ok to say no, but just bear in mind that the next time you come here for a massage, it'll be at a much higher rate. They also suggest you base tips on the industry standard prices so a tip for a 90 min massage can range from $15-25 depending on your experience. read more

Over the 3 years I have had several excellent massage therapists at ME RR. My absolute favorite is Linda Henderson. I have booked massages exclusively with Linda - every 2 weeks - for the last 6 months. As a matter of fact, I have massages booked with her through December because I want to make sure she's available. I trust Linda and I'm very comfortable with her. I'm very upset. No one ever called to ask me to confirm my appointment and get a call today saying I missed my appointment and would use my credits because I missed my appointment. I transferred from the Killeen location and never had this issue. I am a regular and have never missed an appointment. The guy stated I received a call yesterday and I did not. I've worked in a spa setting before and have used spa software...the person could have easily pressed the spot saying a call was made. We like this location sooooo much better than the other Round Rock location. There are things that could be done better in order to give the whole "spa experience" -- but overall it is a good place to get a good massage that is not downtown or way out of the way. The checkout process has gotten so much better -- which is good because I never like having to deal with stress AFTER checking out of my massage. I would tell you who my favorite massage therapist is --- but I don't want all of you to start booking him up -- so I am keeping that nugget to myself. It does take a little time to find a massage therapist who is perfect for your needs -- but once you find one -- it makes everything sooooo much better! So from the moment I walked in the Staff here is Awsome... I didn't make a appointment I worked 8pm-8am and had a very long night at work...got in at 815 and they called multiple locations to try and get me in since I wanted a appointment today and they didn't have anything untill 12pm..to long for me since I had been up so long already... however after going to the back and working out a few things I was able to be seen at 930 and it was about 830 by that point I was willing to wait which was GREAT! 1st time here and they went above and beyond! And never once did they get frustrated or just brush me off for another day Now to the massage Clay worked on me and I am so happy they suggested the 1:30 min verses the hour I was going to do.So After I briefly explained my job and my history and my concerns... I was taken back! Clay had perfect pressure the entire massage... I was hesitant in coming because I had the mindset that it would be more of a soft pressure... and I needed to really get the knots worked out I was not wanting anything tender lol! I was NOT DISAPPOINTED that's for sure and I was able to relax on top of it all... He was also very informative helped me understand why I was having some issues ...my sleeping in a curled up ball...lol and plenty more... gave me suggestions on how to help the issues...things I can do to help myself on top of the massages Clay paid attention to my responses and asked questions when needed He also worked on specific places even if I had to stop him and tell him "right there is very painful" he was awesome and would really work on those spots I did tell him when I entered I had a bad tension headache on the left side of my temple... needless to say mid way through it went away I also got the foot scrub... however I will say I didn't care so much for the scrub... I loved the heated towel though... I think the scrub was just different for me not nesisrilly a dislike...
