She booked only a few hours in advance and even rearranged her schedule when they asked her to come earlier. Then she had a legitimate medical issue and physically couldn't make it. We called to cancel as soon as possible, and they still refused to waive the cancellation fee with zero understanding. Completely unreasonable and not how you treat customers. Man, I wish my husband came here before wasting $100 gift card for one of the most disappointing massages I have ever received. Plot twist it wasn't even at this location...Athough he "bought it" at the New Braunfels location BY OUR HOUSE. I Accidentally called the location in Lincoln Park, which is still really close so I didn't mind. I explained to her I got a gift card from my husband, and I was anxious to use it as it has been almost a year since I had a professional massage. She asked me for my phone number so she can see if I was in their system, she pulled up my first name with my maiden name that I used in 2011 (before my husband and I got married) . So since she was able to find me under a maiden name "10+ years later" she told me they could not honor the gift card that the woman told him at the other location would only cost him $80 for the massage and he added a $20 tip for me. End result, said it would be best that I call the location he bought it from. And then I proceeded to call the location on New Braunfels, where he recently purchased it. I asked the lady if she had a female masseuse available, and she said they were booked for the day, but she can get me in tomorrow. I was SUPER excited to hear this news and told her thank you so much, the gift card is for the $79 massage and he left a tip for her too ... She responded with "oh, well She only has a 90 minute massages spot. I stated I only needed 60 minute massage and that's what he had already paid for and then was told they would not be able to accommodate me and offered to TRY and get me towards the end of the month. when I asked if he could come in and just get refunded so that I can go somewhere where they were able to accommodate us, she said that they would not refund him his purchase. My husband seeing me get overwhelmed trying to book the session mentioned another location on Blanco and Huebner out by 1604. So on my last hope, I called the and person on the phone was actually much nicer and helpful than the previous two, she saw that I was in the system under my maiden name from 2011 and told me that she would still honor his purchase and they were able to get me at 4 PM withthe female masseuse . I drove in traffic 25 mins to make sure I got there on time, with 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork and get settled. The girl who did my massage was kind but "extremely unexperienced" and it felt as if I had never walked in there after my sessions was over that did not last a full 60 mins. I will admit at first, I did ask for a light to medium, because some people have heavy hands and it can get uncomfortable, except for my neck and shoulders where I hold more tension, She could not produce any sort of pressure AT ALL anywhere on my neck and arms (as she never even massaged my legs feet head, or any other part of my bod) besides my shoulders and neck, which was not expected I figured she would make her way as they typically do. I literally left there more frustrated and stress walking out, now in 5pm traffic to drive across town again since the two closest locations were of no service. That is three separate locations Iconversed with, in one day, and each one was a very, very, very poor experience. I question the usefulness of the business's response to my Yelp complaint because they suggested that I submit my grievance through a link they gave. I have emailed the franchisee directly multiple times (at least three times) with no response. I also emailed the Massage Envy Franchise Support Center multiple times with the same result. My bank has reached out to them because I disputed the transaction but to no avail. The Consumer Protection Agency and the Better Business Bureau have reached out to them but haven't received a response. At this point, is this one link really the key to getting a long overdue refund? read more

I recently called in to ask for a good massage therapist as my traditional therapist Cindy was booked up... they set me up with an alternate therapist saying she was experienced and good overall. Total waste of time. The massage started a little late, and ended 5 mins early (I believe the massages should be 50 mins, this was 43 or 44 mins). She basically just rubbed lotion on my body with no energy. At times, it didn't seem like she knew what to do next. Very nice person and kind, but no passion for massage. I'm also not happy the front desk gave me such a strong recommendation for someone of this quality. The front desk must not know who the good therapists are, and probably just try to book open slots (at the customers expense). Not every massage can be good. This one was my 3rd worst ever, but she was professional and nice. One star for that. read more

We have been visiting this location for about 2 years and have had a variety of massage therapists who do deep tissue. We regularly get massages (about 2 x monthly) and they are always very accommodating and helpful. I am always amazed at the hours they are open....pretty much can accommodate anyone's schedules. We always do 2 hour massages as we are spoiled and think anything less just isn't enough time to work through all our kinks. They have some awesome new massage chairs that you can relax and enjoy before your massages as well. So bring a good book and come a few minutes early to get the most out of your experience. read more

I have been to other ME locations but this was my first time here. The check-in was super fast and done on the iPad now. While I was waiting for my massage therapist I waited in the relaxation room and they have 2 full body massage chairs available. It was a perfect prelude to my massage. My massage therapist was Marco. Before or session started he listened and helped me choose focus areas where I felt most stress or pain and explained how the massage would work on those areas. I simply can't say enough about Felicia. I simply won't go to anyone else. I've tried a few others when she's been out but they just don't measure up for me. I like to have a super deep tissue massage....the deeper the better for me. I find most of them just don't have the strength to get in and work out the kinks that I have with my muscles. We've had our membership here for a couple of years and you sure can't beat the price. Felicia's schedule fills up in advance so don't wait until the last minute to book if you want to try her out. If you are more of an on the fly type of person, I'm sure you can find another one of their great team members to help you out. Another great thing about their membership is that if you can't use the prepaid this month, no worries...they just save for the future until you can. My experience at this location has been largely varied. Let's start off with the positive aka my most recent massage done by Elliot. Oh. My. God. Let me tell you, the man knew what he was doing and truly transformed my upper back from a knotted mess to a normal human back. It was magical. He followed all instructions with regard to pressure and what areas I wanted him to focus on. He also didn't talk much, which I LOVE during a massage. I don't want to chit chat. I want to relax and enjoy. Now onto my gripes: specifically timing. So one time I was running 5 minutes late and you better believe they docked me those 5 minutes in "hands on" time. Which I get is the policy, so fair is fair. However, the most recent visit there involved both my fiance and I being there ON TIME and the therapists running a few minutes late. Do you know they shorted us by 5 minutes? I'm sorry but if I'm on time for my appointment, I shouldn't be penalized for someone else running off schedule. And honestly, yes, it's five minutes. BUT it adds up when you're paying a monthly membership, and it's just not good customer service. So, will I go there again? Yes of course. Elliot saved my back ! BUT I'm hoping management does something about how their therapists timing coincides with customers who themselves were on time and kept waiting. read more

I visited this place since I booked a last minute appointment and no preference on therapist besides being female. I am a member but from GA and sometimes get nervous to take a chance on new/different people. SO glad I did! Best massage ever! I had Wendy and she was amazing, I like hard pressure and she did it just the way I like it. The muscles she was hitting I swear I have never had massaged before from others. I would 100% recommend Wendy, she is professional and very knowledgeable. I pay $49/month for my membership in ATL so when I came here and checked out they told me that their memberships are $70 a month and I had to pay the difference. I was a little surprised and he apologized that I wasn't told before so she waived the $20 difference. But, if I come back next time they would charge this. I definitely will be back to see Wendy, the extra charge is worth it. Do a 1.5 or 2 hour massage, anything less I feel doesn't give you a through session. read more

Recently returned from deployment and was told my credits (5 hours) would be held for me and not expire. I confirmed that I could use my credits when I booked the 90 minute massage appointment. When I showed up, they told me I could only use the credits at my original member location or they'd have to get a manager to release them for use at other locations. The stone oak manager was not in and the employees there did not know where she was or when she was coming in (this is a weekday during business hours). After waiting 30minutes the staff were able to access my credits and told me I could still have a 60min massage. The entire massage lasted less than 40minutes and they charged me for the full hour, saying that it was only for the remainder of my time slot. read more

I called to enquire about a lymphatic drainage massage post liposuction. The girl on the phone booked me for that same day and I drove across town to make my appointment. When I arrived I filled out the paperwork and they sat me back to wait for my therapist. Right when my time started some lady (no idea who she was because she didn't introduce herself) came in and told me I would need a release from my doctor to be massaged. I was obviously upset that this wasn't mentioned at all before. To make it worse, as I'm waiting for my ride to arrive my therapist comes to try to take me back for my massage. Nobody even told him my massage was not happening! This place is so unbelievably unprofessional I will never be back! Have been a massage envy member for 2+ years beck in NJ and today was my first massage in TX. Usually don't like having male massage therapists but that's who was available at the time I could come and I needed a deeper pressure applied. Unfortunately on my way there I got a flat and had to change to a spare tire. They called me when my appointment was supposed to start and offered to change from the scheduled 90 minute to 60 to allow me to get there. This is great customer service that they were so accommodating and understanding of a crappy situation out of my control. The massage was great, can't remember his name, but he has blonde/red hair and a beard. Really knows his stuff. The gals at the front desk were really friendly as well. This is my first time here at this branch,so i went there 30 minutes earlier.When i got in the front desk greeted me and asked name and she checked me in and she escorted me in their waiting area.This branch is bigger than the one i always going to.Their waiting area is nice they have couches and a two massage chair that you can use while waiting for your appointment,they also have water and tea if you like and a tv at the center of the room but only show an aquarium video.So my appointment is at 12 noon but the therapist came in the waiting room around 1205 and say sorry she's running late and she will come back once she prepare the room that i will use,she came after few minutes and escorted me to the room and apologized again for being behind the time.Good thing i told her i added an enhancement to my massage before we start the session,she went out and check my appointment details and came back and said sorry the information in my data is wrong and then she started the massage session.She did good and i forgot how many times she put the warm and cold enhancement i always adding it everytime i going to massage and they always put the warm and cold once,then she did stretching to my legs its good. I get a massage about once a year and it's usually for fun (Bach party, girls night, birthday, etc) but this time it was because I was in pain - caused by stressed, bad posture, and general grownupness. My shoulder was killing me. I also had knots in my lower back and neck. Marco worked ALL of my knots out! He took the time to figure out what I needed. He associated my shoulder pain with a knot in my pectoral muscle (would've never thought that but it obviously makes sense now.) Anyway, a deep tissue massage isn't a relaxing massaging but it'll get you fixed up. I called and made the appointment in the same day. The girls in the front were nice. Highly recommend Marco for deep tissue! Also, make sure you tip your deep tissue therapist! It's alotta work for the same price as a Swedish. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I schedule an appointment for my mom and I for our bdays. My mom took the day off work. We both woke up with a fever the day of and called to reschedule. Nobody answered so we left a voicemail. Hours past and nothing. We call again and they told us we could NOT reschedule or get our money back. I had a year membership for 2017 and overall it was an enjoyable experience. Out of the 12 massages I had, 2 of them caused me some sort of pain where I had to take time off of work because I wasn't able to move or function normally. I would try to keep the same masseuse but there seemed to be a high turn over rate there. I would suggest that if you're looking to schedule massage and are able to get one either same day or the next day there is a reason for that. read more

I asked for a morning appointment and he said 9:45, I said is there anything a little later and he said "I thought you said you wanted a morning appointment?" From there he kept being condescending when he spoke and after confirming my address, asked me could they use the number I was calling from as my contact number. I said "no, it is my work number" and gave him my cell. I accepted the 9:45 appointment with Wendy and hoped everyone had better attitudes than him. I arrived to my appointment at 9:45, the receptionist was checking in a woman and I heard her say you have a 10:00 with Wendy and the woman agreed and they led her in the back waiting room. When I approached her to check him, she told me I had missed my appointment it was at 8:00. I said "I would not make an appointment on Saturday at 8:00 am and that my appointment was at 9:45 with Wendy. She said "I mean we tried to call you to see if you could come in earlier because the therapist called off." I said "no one called me." She said "we tried to call you this morning." I asked her what number they had and it was my work number. I said I was very clear that I did not want that number used. She told me hold on and walked over to Eric who told her "their was nothing they could do because I'm missed my appointment" which she came back and repeated to me. I said how could I miss my appointment when I'm here at 9:45? The girl shrugged her shoulders and said sorry there's nothing we can do while I continue to hear the other receptionist schedule appointments. At this point I decided not only would I not be getting massage from this company today, I will never get a massage from the company. After I left, I decided to call back because I did not want to be charged for this appointment. I call back and Eric answered the phone. He asked me had I just come into the store and I said yes. He apologized that they were not able to reach me to reschedule the appointment. I asked him for clarification that I would not be charged and he said no. I asked him why he listed the wrong number when we specifically talked about my telephone number. I could hear him take a deep breath and exhale into the phone. He then offered to correct the phone number. I told him this was not necessary because I never plan to speak with this company again. I understand that people call off from work. They did not try to rectify the situation in anyway by offering a different time. I went back and checked my work phone and saw that they called me the night before at 6:40 to confirm the appointment. They called me at 8:36 the day of the appointment to tell me they did not have a therapist. This was really confusing because I heard them confirm the same appointment with the lady in from of me. I booked a 9:45 appointment. They said to show up at 9:30 to fill out paperwork. They were closed. They opened at 9:45 and said my appointment was at 10. I waited in a back room until 10:10 when my therapist came in to get me. After talking about what I wanted he got started. It was weak. I asked him to please use more pressure. It was the worst massage I've ever received. He then ended the massage and left the room. I felt it wasn't quite the hour I had booked so checked my phone. It was 10:50. My total "hour" massage was about 35 minutes long. "J", (only his initial) my massage therapist, spoke through a lot of the massage and when he did talk he would stop massaging. I asked for someone with experience and they said he was one of their most experienced. I won't return. The amateur way it was run should have been a red flag. read more

My membership is in Miami Beach but this is my go to location in San Antonio. I've had maybe a dozen massages here and with only a minor hiccup. Everyone is professional and friendly and the massage staff is top notch. That said it's not reasonable to think that you can just walk in and get the massage of a lifetime. I bought a 12 month membership at this ME. BAD BAD BAD IDEA. Under NO circumstances buy a ME membership. There are NO benefits to it. AND you cannot QUIT it. It is impossible, according to the Erik Guerro the manager I spoke with today, to QUIT it before the 12 months are up. They will charge my CC no matter if I show up or not. WHAT? Yes, that's right. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. NEVER EVER EVER buy a ME membership. I've had both a facial and a massage at this ME. They were ok, hence the rating. Nancy who did my facial was really a good esthetician I really liked her technique. But since the only choice of products are Murad which are good, but one size does not fit all when it comes to skin care, this is definitely not a spa facial. My face was clean and I am enjoying some of the Murad products I purchased. The massage was eh-ok. The Masseuse did a great job with pressure points and deep tissue for the few moments she worked on a spot on my shoulder. In spite of making a note on the intake form that I have a very sensitive lump on the bottom of my foot, she massaged it = OUCH! The rest of the massage was just like she was rubbing my skin. Not in a bad way but not in a good way either, she did not massage along muscle/tissue lines. I did leave with well oiled skin though. Also they use hot towels not stones here. Really? The heat on the towels lasts about 1 minute and it cost $12. I was totally pressured from the front desk person and by the masseuse to get the hot towel package. NOT worth it. DON'T WASTE your $$. This is a good Massage Envy. If you've never been to one, you need to understand that Massage Envy is a no-frills place. If you're expecting a true spa experience you should probably go elsewhere. But if you are looking for a quality massage at an affordable cost, then this is your place. The facility is new and clean, the receptionists/management are friendly, and most importantly, I've found a couple of therapists who I really like. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced. From the front desk staff to the site manager, the Sunset Ridge team has proven impossible to deal with on multiple occasions. I was visiting a New York location and wanted to treat my mom to a facial. She had used a credit of mine ~4 months ago, but was newly diagnosed with Breast Cancer so I wanted to do something nice for her and treat her to a facial. I had ~10 credits in my account, but policy states you can only transfer one credit to the same person in a 6 month window. The location we were visiting offered to waive the policy given the circumstances, but the Sunset Ridge location would not do the same. I spoke with multiple people there (including the manager), and the location I was visiting called them multiple times as well, but they would not budge. The location I was visiting ended up letting my Mom book her appointment under my name so that she could use my credits. Could not believe the lack of flexibility from the Sunset Ridge staff. They were overly rude and seemed bothered by the entire situation. Needless to say they are no longer my home location and the entire experience made me want to cancel my account entirely. read more
