I originally began going to the Coral Gables location since it was closer to my house but after trying Yaqueline Acosta, a therapist at the Tamiami Location ( SW 8 Street and 142nd Ave) Coral Gables never saw me again! Yaqui is the best Masseuse I've ever had and the ONLY one that relieves and treats my back pain like a true professional. My husband and I travel frequently around the world and stay in what are categorized by American Express as Fine Hotels and Resorts. Most of them have a world renowned Spa in their facility and we always try to schedule massages during our stay. Every time we finish the massage we look at each other and say..."No one can beat Yaqueline" ! Believe me when I say she is the best! I personally enjoy deep tissue massages and I guess since Yaqui studied Sports Medicine, her knowledge and techniques are not easy to find. read more

I was fortunate enough to be gifted two gift cards for a complementary one hour massage, facial, or body stretch. l was finally able to get around to booking an appointment and I took my boyfriend with me. Over the phone, I was told by the front desk lady that EACH gift card held $145 on it. She explained to me that ONE of the gift cards could pay for both, me and my boyfriend, and I would just have to pay a difference of $5. It was $75 per person so me and my boyfriend would come out to $150. I was so happy to hear this, and quickly booked our appointments. After our massages finished and we were checking out, I gave one of my gift cards to the front desk lady. She said it only held $39 on it. I was, obviously, confused and gave her the second gift card to make sure it was just a mistake. She then proceeded to tell me that they BOTH held $39 on it. She said that BOTH gift cards could cover only ONE person. I was extremely upset that prior to our massages, we were told that we were both covered and just needed to pay a $5 difference, and that being only using ONE of the gift cards. But no, she took BOTH the gift cards that were supposed to be worth $290 total and counted it as $78 total. I had to pay $75 of the remaining balance which was extremely outrageous. Don't tell your customers one thing and say another thing next. It was extremely unprofessional and ruined my experience at Massage Envy. I almost signed up for a membership, but I declined it after this nonsense. And on top of that, my massage wasn't even an hour, it was 45 mins. My boyfriend's massage was 40 mins. I'm extremely disappointed with how things were handled here. read more

The service in the front desk has declined in the last few months. I still love the therapist (Thai, Maria, and Cristina) they are all great. The manager or owner seems to be more concerned with cutting coast than customer service. The pendant lights are always off and the lights in the waiting area has been changed to florescent lighting. It doesn't feel like a spa anymore. It doesn't look relaxing and this lighting isn't good for my migraines. Funny thing is that they are booked solid, so they are making money! : / I remember before they use to offer tea or water while you waited. Sometimes they had cookies to offer. Personally, I don't want tea or cookies, but it's nice when the front desk people know your name, look happy to see you, and offer you something (even if you decline) while you are waiting. I hope they take the time to read these comments and make the appropriate changes because honestly, Groupon has some great deals in nice places, spa month is around the corner, and there are people that come to your home for less. I show up for my appointment (early) and the receptionist happens to tell me that my appointment was taken with no valid excuse other than "that's why I don't like the online portal". As a business owner, it is your responsibility to double check online confirmations daily, if your going provide that service/System to your clients. Also, he couldn't provide me anything for the inconvenience because "everything else was taken". The atmosphere of Massage Envy is calming and relaxing. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly! They made me feel very accommodated and comfortable right away. The massage was worth every dollar. The hour felt like 3-4 hours with a deep massage that left me feeling like I was in complete bliss for several days afterwards. I have had massages at other places in the past where the masseuse was stand-offish and didn't really care if I felt good during the massage. Not here at Massage Envy! The masseuse was very skilled, professional, and polite. She checked in with me throughout the experience to make sure that I was ok. She REALLY knows what she's doing! personally like firm to deep pressure and Julie knows just where to do it :) I've had pack aches during the entire pregnancy and she did a great job massaging that area! I have been a member of massage envy for 3 years. I recently had surgery done and was okayed by my doctor to have a massage, as long as I did not lay on my stomach. I explained my situation over the phone before making an appt. They said I could do a prenatal massage. I agreed to it. Cleared my Saturday schedule to get the massage and then a facial. The massage therapist refused to give me the massage, said I needed a doctors note. The misinformation is alarming. What was worse, was the complete disregard by the General Manager Paula Villamil had for my time. She said I cannot make my therapist do anything, understandable. She also said it's not like we are going to charge you for the session. I'm not quite sure what this woman is doing working with the public or in this type of establishment, where you go to seek wellness and relaxation. I wish she would have been as eager to help with this issue, as she was trying to upsell me on extras for my massage or facial, Which I had already turned down from a front desk associate in front of Paula Villamil, general manager. I told her I was considering cancelling my membership. Rather than giving me time to myself to consider. She hounded me, asking if I wanted the form to cancel. I had to tell her to please give me a moment. Then, she asked a front desk associate, if I had filled out the form. Once the associate answered yes, her response was "awesome!". I completely hated my experience here. It was my first time ever getting a massage from a "professional" establishment. It was given to me as a birthday gift, which now in retrospect is possibly the worst gift I've received. Instead of telling me what to expect or what to do, everyone made some sort of comment like "really?! This is your first time?"..... YES, it is my first time, I don't have the luxury to have a massage every month, sorry that I don't fit into your standards. Upon getting my massage therapist, 1) there was obviously a language barrier that made it difficult to communicate 2) it was uncomfortable because I thought my therapist upon booking was a girl, correction it was a guy. And he was equally uncomfortable 3) I have NEVER done this before so I had little to no instructions on what to do before, during, or after the massage. I was a complete fish out of water. At the checkout I wanted to just pay and leave but of course I caught it at the busiest time of the day and had to awkwardly wait while the receptionist finished with other debacles. When I was finically checking out, they pretty much harassed me to join their stupid membership which I'm the long run is SUPPOSED to save me money which I'm fact doesn't! Because it binds you legally for a year to pay for their mediocre services and you cannot cancel it, which was not told to me until the first payment was taken out of bank and I call to attempt to cancel the membership..... Long story short, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING FROM THIS SCAMMING COMPANY. Say no, pay, and walk away and never turn back. WORST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER. I hope this company burns to ground or closes in the next month so I don't have to keep paying for a service I have no interest in using ever again. I've never had a bad experience with any masseuse, on the contrary, I have always left satisfied. My issues is with the location and management. The walls are paper thin, I absolutely detest getting services done near the restrooms as you can hear people coming in and out. Worst one is getting room near what seems to be the back office or break room. It makes it very difficult to relax when people are talking, opening/closing doors, etc. Worst experience of all was when the bed head support had a glitch which ended in me getting a broken lip. The manager at the time (last year---blond lady) slightly apologized and moved on. Seriously? the masseuse was far more apologetic than the manager was. Unbelievable. There was so empathy, no refund, no nothing. I've been in the industry for years, I couldn't believe the lack of response. That manager was (I say was because I haven't seen her in a while) the worst. Always had an "I don't feel like being here" face. I am glad I don't bump into her anymore, she always kind of ruined it for me, specially after the broken lip incident. For anyone looking to get a quick massage, this is an ok place. 5 stars for the massage, 3 stars for the location and ambiance = 4 stars I checked out this place because I bought a Groupon for a $39 massage. Sounded like a good deal for a 1 1/2 hour massage. We arrived a bit early, filled out the necessary form, and waited for our massage therapists. I was concerned that there would be a lot of fragrance going on in the massage because of all the apple, vanilla, and cinnamon scents I was greeted with in the waiting area. I was happily surprised when the massage room was neutral - on the eyes and the nose. There was classical music playing at the right level to block any outside noise. The massage therapist I had, Julie, was amazing! She worked on a lot of tight spots I have from running or sitting at my desk, and was very nice. A definite 5 stars for Julie! I would consider coming back on a regular basis except that it's really out of the way for me. It's about 40 minutes from my house. Plus, massages can get quite pricey. They have a "membership" program where you pay $59 a month and get one massage or facial a month. Might be a good deal if I lived close enough to go more often. I also think they could work on the overall ambiance, which I thought was mediocre and felt like waiting in a doctor's office. Great service, great masseuse, and everything was very hassle free, which I definitely appreciated. I've heard about Massage Envy, and even with a poor review, I decided to give it a try. Bad timing, Lex Y., that the power had gone out, but you can't really fault them for that, right? Sounds like they made at least a concerted effort to deliver. Either way, I was not only pleased with my massage, but told a couple of friends about it as well. Hopefully they check this place out. I am not just a 5-star guy, but I am certainly an optimist as well as a realist, and this place totally delivered. No attitude and nothing pretentious, just straight up massage....envy. I can't put into words how blessed my wife and I are that we found her. She is unbelievable! A great person that is very professional and experienced! I have received massages my entire life and hands down the best masseuse I have ever encountered. She cares about how you are feeling and is eager to get to work on those areas you need to feel relief. She is the very best at making sure the pressure is right for you. She has helped reduce the pain in my neck and back tremendously. She also does fantastic stretches that help me with my elasticity, or lack thereof lol.
