It's been a long time since my last massage so I made my first appt at Massage Heights Decatur on friday. I found the staff to be very pleasent and the salon clean and inviting. Gina Morris was my massage therapist and she was great! Gina made me feel very comfortable and she really paid attention to my concerns. After a 90 minute massage, the stress i hold in my shoulders and neck was gone. Gina even gave me suggestions to correct my posture to help releave my neck and shoulder issues!! read more

Went on 12/18 to do my pre-birthday massage just to walk in and find out that my normal therapist no longer works there. MH can call for anything else (promotions, gift cards, upgrades) but couldn't find it in them to call me before I drove to my appointment to let me know I'd be switched to another therapist. This is the second time that this has been done without notice. So I decided to cancel my membership on the same day. I was told that the only way to cancel is to email and the manager will get with me. Well I still have not heard from the manager. I called yesterday and the phone kept going straight to voicemail. I call today and the girl tells me that the manager in charge of canceling memberships has been out for some days and she is the only person who can cancel it. So now, my card is going to be charged until the "membership manager" decides to come back to work. This place was really nice up until the last 4 months or so. read more

She listens to my concerns and has made such a positive experience for me at Massage Heights. I will continue to go and see Leslie. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Please be careful! I don't want to presume that this is a standard practice, but in case it is, I feel obligated to post. I went for a massage in January. Massage was good, no problem there. They talked me into a recurring $60/mo membership which I decided to cancel before being charged in February. I did some financial housecleaning last month and noticed they have still been charging me $60/mo from Feb-Jul. I'm resolving with them now. So yes on the massage. No on the potential unethical business practice. read more

I've been coming here since they first opened and were offering introductory massage specials. I am now a member and get a monthly 60-minute massage. It's a great self-care gift to myself. Overall, I've been pleased with this Massage Heights. I have never visited another Massage Heights location, but I've been to a number of other massage places. This location has very convenient hours for people with 8 to 5 jobs--they're open until 9 p.m. most nights and are also open on Saturday and Sunday. However, this is not a place where you can walk in and expect to get a massage immediately; it must be scheduled in advance. (Go to I Heart Massage on Clairmont at N. Decatur Rd. if you want a walk-in massage). The young people at the front desk here are always friendly. The waiting room is pleasant. Another reviewer mentioned that the bathrooms were dirty when they visited--they could be better kept. Once there were no paper towels; often the trash is full and/or there's water on the floor. But I don't go to Massage Heights for the bathrooms, so while mildly annoying this is not a huge deal to me. My regular massage therapist, Casey, is very nice and very good. He has experience with customers who have health conditions similar to mine, so that's a big plus. He has helped me do some gentle stretching during sessions and always seems to find knots I didn't know I had. I've never been unhappy with a massage from Casey. That said, I get the feeling that the massage styles and quality may vary widely from masseuse to masseuse. I was once scheduled with another masseuse by error, and her massage was incredibly light and not as effective as Casey's. That may make it difficult to find someone who has a good style for you unless you want to try someone different each time. Everything hasn't been perfect here, hence four stars. In addition to the bathroom issues and one incident of erroneous scheduling, I wasn't even supposed to be scheduled with Casey for my initial massage in the first place. I had specifically requested a female masseuse. I suspect that the scheduler wasn't familiar with the masseuses and thought Casey was a woman, but thankfully, it turned out for the best. It's also worth noting that they've run behind a few times and not taken me back until 5 or 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I'm not sure whether this is poor organization or because a previous customer showed up late. At any rate, I'm pleased with the massages I get here, glad for the convenient hours, and satisfied with the price of being a member. $59.99 for one 60-minute massage per month is a low-to-average rate (but don't forget tip), and when you sign up as a member you also get a certificate valid for a free 60-minute massage anytime you want. read more

Member for a year and will not be returning. Constant changes in therapists - and each was just OK. Nothing special. In the middle of my membership the price for an additional massage went up $20 (40%!!! From $50 to $70), without any warning or communication. The one time I had to ask questions, the front was completely unable to address them. I had to email them, just to have a very confusing exchange with their director- Ms. Brown. Look people, if it is clear you don't understand my question - don't keep making me email you back and forth. Freaking pick up the phone...you have my number. SO DONE with this place. Very careful to make sure pressure and technique were comfortable and relaxing. I had a great time! Booked an appointment with this establishment for two and due to an accident were prohibited from getting there at the scheduled time. We spoke to a receptionist and were told that we were okay and would be seen once we arrived. Arrived and was told that our appointment would not be honored and was charged two cancellation fees. Another couple of different ethnicity were late as well and missed there time completely but were provided with the opportunity to receive their massages anyway without penalty. I am highly disappointed in their lack of customer service towards our party and do not plan to return to this establishment. read more

My wife bought me a one hour massage through a gift card two weeks ago. When I tried to make the appointment today, they insisted that I must have a credit/debit card to schedule even though the service has already been pre-paid. They told me that it wouldn't be charged, which makes me wonder why they are collected unnecessary card information. I offered to provide the gift card number that they could charge in the event of a no-show. When I asked "what if I don't have a card," I was told that I should ask someone else to borrow theirs. Given that this is a membership-based business, I question why they are collecting credit cards for pre-paid services. I spoke with Robert C, the Retreat Director, and he stuck to the same story. They also won't provide a refund of the gift card. Complaint was filed with the BBB earlier today. The owner seems to have replied but apparently didn't realize that I was never able to even have my first visit as they won't schedule one. Seems to be a canned response. read more

I came here for the grand opening special. But honestly, it was just ok. The guy that massaged me had cold hands (which seems kind of strange when you're actively massaging someone...). He wasn't very firm or intuitive. It was ok for the opening special of $25/hour, but I probably won't go back again and pay full price. read more

The process of booking the appointment was simple and easy. The location looked clean and relaxing. My only problem was that although my masseuse was nice she kept talking. I felt like I was at the chiropractor instead of a massage place. I'm not rude enough to say I don't want to talk but I tried not to respond anymore and she kept talking. The time flew because 1 she didn't massage me for 60 mins it was only about 45 and for the money I spent I expected my full 60 mins. This isn't my first massage but It definitely wasn't my favorite. I had a Groupon for a massage here, and it was definitely worth it! The ladies at the reception desk were extremely nice, and the studio was very clean and relaxing. I had a 60 minute massage and a face massage. Both were great. My massage therapist was really nice, but his "medium" pressure was a bit more than I had experienced at other places. So, I've had a couple of times subscribed to my local massage shop, Massage Heights, and when I last was over there I asked to cancel my membership but they wouldn't, telling me to just have my account frozen. I said, Yup, sounds right. But I just learned that since last summer they have been charging me my monthly subscription even tho I haven't scheduled any massages. Nor do they call you to ask you for when you'd next like to come in. This company makes its money charging clients cards without most people noticing. They would have had to either cancel their account or re-freeze the account every 30-days. It's a scam! Yikes! read more

I was so disappointed at first with this place I was going back and Forsyth with management for over 3 months to cancel my membership because I had surgery and can no longer get massages. It was explained to me that I had to have a doctors note stating that which is understandable. But I didn't provide one because my membership was up in a month. Why after my membership I was still being charged month to month and no one informed me until after the money had come out of my account pissed. It was not until the new manager Cortez reached out to me and informed me that the manager that I was formally emailing no longer works for the company and it was a problem with canceling my membership so that's why I was still being charged he offered to refund my payment that was taken out and advised that I have credits on my account that I can use to get a facial and suggested after I'm cleared from surgery that I can do a spa day for myself lord knows I need it. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My boyfriend and I have been members for about a year now, and we have never had anything less than a wonderful experience from start to finish. We have each had a different therapist every time we've come in because we both cannot choose our favorite. We have never had anyone that we didn't like. Each therapist does something slightly different, but we can always count on feeling 100% better when we leave -- and sleeping better too. I have gotten regular massage for over 20 years and have had some excellent massages during that time. Massage Heights has always provided me with a good spa experience and I have been to several locations. Last month I was scheduled with Angelo by chance. This was the most amazing massage I have ever experienced. Angelo is always checking in on the pressure, able to provide deep pressure without intense pain, and incorporates stretching so that I feel totally relaxed and loose when I leave. The massage was great. I purchased a membership. After the first month I was billed twice a month for 3 months. I was told they didn't see the additional charges. I tried to cancel the membership and was still billed. I had to get a new credit card to stop them from charging my account $119.98 per month. My experience here was completely unprofessional. The massage therapists aren't fully developed and the lobby which contains the chairs for waiting were dirty. The bathroom was not clean. Along with all of this, the paperwork and staff were highly unorganized. I paid for something that wasn't fit for quality and I could have gone elsewhere. There is also gossip and drama between staff which makes it a very, very uncomfortable environment. It should be a facility for relaxation. Go to a different spa and you can even snag a Groupon deal for a better experience elsewhere! read more

This is a very stressful time for me right now and this massage was very therapeutic and awesome. Today I took my children ages 13&16 to Massage Heights Decatur to get massages for my son's birthday. They were very comfortable and loved their massages. Casey and Chantel really made them feel relaxed, relieved, and rejuvenated. My daughter stated that she felt like weight was off her shoulders. My son is a football player, and my daughter has ADD. This place is AWESOME! My therapist CiCi knew exactly what to do to make my prenatal massage all that I imagined! I will definitely be back. The front office staff made me feel right at home. They got me water while I filled out my paper work. They immediately called my therapist and let her know I was ready. My therapist came out promptly and we discussed my needs.
