When we arrived we were seated at the front and invited to discuss what we want out of our massage today and if there is anything they should know- like a mini consultation. And shortly after we were guided to a cute bathroom with our personalized scrubbing salt to exfoliate from the neck down- and this was an amazing experience to cleanse our bodies and our mind. When we hopped onto the massage table all fresh and clean we were ready to receive the experience fully. We got the botica massage which includes scalp massage, firm pressure for shoulder neck area, hot stone, relaxing leg massage and reflexology. And what an incredible treat; every aspect of the client experience shows deep intention for healing and care in this space. We were awaken from the massage from the beautiful sounds of a sound bowl. Just wow! I will be returning as often as possible for the rest of my trip and would highly recommend this gem! By the way, location wise, when you see casa sofia you are at the right plaza - botica is on first level, top right corner (second door from the last on the right hand side) curtains are drawn when they are in session with clients. Appointment wise the best thing is to schedule a time via WhatsApp. See the WhatsApp phone number I uploaded as an image that's the right number to use to make appt.

So the manager said I could use the credit I paid for another service but the only things that were the same price were manis and pedis that I didn't need. I told her I didn't really want to pay more than what I already did, so she comped the 15 dollars extra for me to get a 30 min massage. The facility itself is clean, beautiful and peaceful. The women were very helpful and friendly. The woman who did my massage felt like she had 5 hands! It was amazing! They also ask if you'd like to shower before or after your massage and give you the option. I had just showered so I didn't use them. They give you a locker with a towel, robe and slippers so your belongings are secure. After my massage I noticed in the locker area that they had a sauna so I asked how much it would be to come back later and use it. The woman (looked like the manager) said that it is complimentary since I bought a service but normally would be 25 dollars to use alone. I thought that was a nice add on and they let me come.back to use it. I had to sweat out my alcohol to try and cure my hangover lol. But I recommend the massage and sauna, they were awesome.

The spa attendants are very friendly . My husband and I wanted to use the steam room and sauna together prior to our treatment but the men and women's locker area are separate . They let us go into one side together since no one else was at the spa at that moment and were able to accommodate our request. They also had a special for $135 US dollars you can get a 50 minute deep tissue or Swedish massage and an additional facial, body scrub, or back reflexology massage . I got the Swedish massage and facial. I loved the fruity scents of the oils and products they used for my treatment. Amazing !!!!

First class spa located in Heaven, the adult side of the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. The facilities…read moreare not only beautiful, but functional with a complete hydrotherapy area on the male and female sides. Take your pick or do them all: Two saunas (warm and hot), cold room with ice to cool off your body, steam room, three jacuzzis (cold, warm, hot), cold showers. There are an abundance of staff and treatment rooms. I never had an issue getting an appointment. The procedure at Rock Spa was a bit different than what I have experienced at other spas. I checked in at the desk outside the spa and got a little ticket describing my service. On my first visit I filled out a questionnaire detailing the type of massage I wanted. I then had to go to the the second desk in the spa where I got my locker key. A robe and perfectly sized flip flops were in the locker. What was different about this spa was that you did not have free reign to enjoy the facilities. You needed to keep track of that little ticket and give it to one of the attendants. An attendant would then take you on your hydrotherapy journey. They would make sure you spent the appropriate amount of time in each room and got to your service on time. All of the attendants were lovely and it was nice to have someone "take care of you" but I am more of a free reign type of person. I would prefer to wander at my own pace. After the hydrotherapy journey, the attendant puts a warm compress on your shoulders and walks you to the sumptuous waiting room. The waiting room looks like a sultan's palace. There were comfortable chairs, sofas, and a small settee with different teas (including passion fruit, my favorite), nuts, and fruit to enjoy before or after your service. So how were the services? As with any place it really depends on who you get. My first service was an 80 minute deep tissue massage. After filling out the questionnaire at the front desk and being asked by the masseuse what areas she wanted me to concentrate on, I was given a pleasant, relaxing, generic massage. It was not terrible, except for the fact that the masseuse ignored the areas I asked her to work on. When you leave you are given a quick survey. If you do not check that your service was "excellent" ( I checked "Good"), then a manager will immediately come out to talk to you. Because I was not completely satisfied I was given 25 minutes free for my next service. My next massage with Gustavo was much better! I also got an 80 minute facial. There are so many facials available that it was hard to choose which one to get. I went with so the facial could be customized for my skin. The technician slathered a bunch of stuff in my skin and massaged a lot with a little roller. It was relaxing but I am not sure if it did anything good for my skin. There were no extractions. The only facial that comes with extractions is the Purifying Facial. The facilities (and attendants)at Rock Spa were definitely a 5+. The services were very good but I don't think they matched that level. I was however, truly impressed with the Spa management's commitment to excellence. I have rarely seen any business take feedback so seriously . It was greatly appreciated!

On my first visit, I arrived early and forgot my bathing suit. They gave me a throw away suit so I could use the hydra therapy area. I used the cold/ice therapy room which was very refreshing. There was a sauna and steam room which I didn't go in to. They had 3 jacuzzi tubs with temperatures from cold to hot. I did use those. I was then led to my massage. I had a deep tissue which was incredible. I went a 2nd time for a massage and facial and again was not disappointed. If you're at this resort you must go to this spa.

The entire massage was completely fluid and seemed to flow from one body part to the next. Her fingers found my tension and gave my body sensations of relief that I have never known. I especially liked the aroma therapy of eucalyptus during and the massage oil that seemed to be some sort of menthol run that also had heating properties as well. One of the best massages of my life. During the 90 minutes my mind seemed to slip into another world several times. Towards the end, I found myself hoping it wasn't time to stop. $85 for 90 minutes of massage is not too bad. Completely professional but thorough. I paid nearly double at my hotel a few days prior for a massage that required to to keep your underwear on. Since I wear boxers this means no upper leg massage or massage of buttocks area. No bueno as most my tension and pain is in lower back/leg area. I'm sure many people are the same. Located downtown about 4 blocks from the ferry. My therapist was an older Hispanic woman in late 40s to mid 50s. I wish I could remember her name to recommend.
