But the bakery has declined, terribly: cakes and cookies are inedible . Our tiramisu tasted dry and did not seem topped with genuine dairy. Horrible. Though they were expensive we had to throw them out. Same with cookies: looked good but decorated sawdust. The three yonng women behind the counter were almost impossible to get help from, and since everything is behind glass you can't help yourself. I had to repeat my request for a carrot cake 5 times. Ludicrous, she and her mates were completely focused on each other. One them handled the same bonbons in a tray at least 20 times while talking to her pals, turning them over to look busy. Yuck. That department needs new suppliers and new better quality staff. Perhaps pay them as well as the men in meat dept? Otherwise I can't imagine why bakery dept is so very, very bad.

We stopped by on a whim for a small snack to-go and a drink and ended up leaving with cider donuts from Upstate NY, artisanal cheese, and seeds for growing in the garden next year. The owner is also absolutely brilliant; we talked pickles and planting and the friendly yard rooster, Buddy. Definitely worth stopping in!

Another thing I like about this Whole Foods is that they have an entire section of discounted items (those whose expiration dates are nearing). It's cool to be able to locate those items all in one place... and some of the deals are amazing. As for the staff, kudos to the hiring manager for assembling such a top-notch team. I went to the Mt Kisco Farm yesterday for lunch. A friend told me to try it there. I wasn't sure…read morewhat to expect when I walked in but was pleasant surprised how spacious and clean it was. They have everything a small grocery store should have. Fresh fruit whole fruit, cut up fruit, lots of fresh veggies, and fresh meats. It was 3pm and the grill was still open so I ordered an omelette. While I was waiting for my food the owner introduced himself and welcomed me to the store. He was very friendly and was genuinely appreciative of my business. This is a local gem!
