They quote one price then change and give another. They are not honest in their business practice.

DO NOT USE - Price Gauging and reneging on negotiated contracts. On 10/4/24 I was contacted by Master Butler to confirm Christmas lights install with a quoted price of $412+Tax which was a small increase from prior year no problem. On 10/5/24 I confirmed and their planner Martha replied with confirmation. Mutual acceptance on 10/5. An install date was scheduled for 11/13. Aligned. On 11/9 someone named Jessica emailed me to tell me an "error" had been made and they were increasing the charge to $587+Tax or +$175 or +42% to what was quoted and agreed to. I asked for the owner to call me as this is a discussion topic and not an email topic. They refused. Stated a piece of the house had not been charge for. To be clear this is the 9th year consecutively we have worked with them on this same project and same string of lights, so a precedent had been set. We even purchased the lights from them. No one else in our neighborhood is being charged this excessive rate. We have used them loyally, consistently and respectfully for nearly a decade, so I am floored by this behavior and don't want them to be allowed to treat customers this way especially when there is a legally binding contract in place. Once I pushed them on this topic she claimed that the technician stated he no longer felt comfortable coming here given the emails and that at one point he felt unfairly treated. This I am speaking with an attorney about is defamation. It's like a dirty rat being backed into a corner and lying by any means necessary to get out of their commitment. We utilize them for gutters, window cleaning, Christmas lights, moss treatment, etc. There has never once been a single issue and honestly we are generally never even home when they are here. I will not stand by and allow them to lie, price gauge and fail to follow through with their commitment to a contract. Please find another business to pay your hard earned money to. UPDATE: Another Five Stars! Tom showed up right on time today to clean our gutters and blow off our roof. He was polite, professional and he did a great job with great care. He cleaned up everything and he made sure he answered any questions. It's great to deal with professionals who return phone calls promptly and show up as scheduled. Would Highly Reccomend! read more

I've aged out of climbing ladders and needed help with the roof and gutters. The guy came on time, did the work, and cleaned up thoroughly. I also had him power wash the driveway and was pleased with how great it came out. I've done it myself for years with a machine I bought at Costco and never really got it all the way clean because I can't see all the moss when it's wet. His equipment was far superior. read more

We have had Master Butler clean and repair our rain getters 2 times in the last few years. It's easy to set up an appointment, the pricing is upfront and reasonable, they stuck to their quoted price, they arrived when they said they would, did the job quickly, did a good job, and were polite and courteous throughout. It's rare to see this level of service these days. What more can you ask for. We'd hire them to do more things for us if they offered more services we need. Strongly recommended. read more

The Master Butler, Thomas has been a HUGE disappointment for us. At first you feel like you have not done a good enough job communicating what you want and when it happens over and over and over again you begin to realize their manic communication is about as bad as it gets and then they gaslight you and blame you, the customer, for the miscommunication. It is a very unhealthy business relationship to be in and we strongly suggest you stay away to save your sanity. Run, run far far away from this overly sensitive, unorganized, never follows through on his word (even when you show Thomas directly IN WRITING proof of his communication) and he cries that he is not appreciated enough for hanging Christmas lights. OMG, please run fast away from this one person ran company. I am sure you can find a person off the streets that can do business better then the master butler. read more

We had the best experience with Brett our technician in July 30th who cleaned our windows thoroughly inside and out! Brett was very respectful and professional and we appreciate the incredible job he did! Master builder was a great and easy company to get a very reasonable quote from and they stuck to their original quote price. I've been using Master Butler for over 8yrs now - and even though the company has grown with multiple employees, Tom's team continues to deliver a great service. We just had dryer vent cleaning, roof cleaning and gutter cleaning. The service tech measured airflow before / after vent cleaning and offered some useful tips for maintenance. The roof was spotless, and the tech even completely swept up and disposed on the blown off leaves/twigs/branches from our decks. Great job - I anticipate us using MB for years to come if the service remains this good! read more

Master Butler needs to invest in its customer service and train it's office managers. This review is about how this company managed to lose a long time customer because of poor customer service. We had been using their services for 8 years. Tom started out with us when they were a smaller company and I really appreciated the connection with a small business, he would always say hi at the end of a service and we would chat about our children who were similar ages. This year their office manager sent out an email saying their price for a yearly service had increased almost 50%( from $425 to $625). That's not a small price hike so I asked why. Their response was that your roof is too risky and the owner needs to do this himself. I asked how is our single story flat roof too risky and if so how come other technicians (not Tom) were doing this last year. The office manager Jessica was dismissive, didn't know the answer and recommended me to go with another company. I pushed for finding out the real answer because I thought there must be some mistake. After a few days another response came that a part of your roof is metal and we can only do this on sunny days. Well I thought then do it on a sunny day and don't increase the price by $200 in one year. Anyway they offered a small discount and I decided to stick with them. But what really shocked me is that Jessica emailed to say that since I wasn't happy with the huge price increase they want me to pay upfront this year. Wow I thought, I asked a legitimate question about price increase and they don't trust 8 years of history with me. Me and my husband felt quite offended and decided to not use them again. They didn't value our business, there was arrogance in the attitude, and showed disrespect by not trusting us to pay despite having a long history of always on time payments. Every customer is important, customer sentiment is important and having this sort of attitude will hurt this business in the long term. read more

Stay away from this company. They are not professional and worse customer service I ever seen. We ordered roof cleaning for our home on June. They insist to push our work to August, but refused to visit our home. They promised to put moss application before. They said they will come before, and there is no need to schedule. Of course that they didn't come and didn't notified us. On the scheduled day, they arrived 2 hours late (4:30pm). They asked to install 3 anchors with additional cost. My wife just tried to call me to consult, and they took off without notify us. They decided it cannot be services with the current offer. They didn't even notified us, or tried to explain. The cost they provided were extremely high. They blocked us for 3 months, and it will be hard to find someone that can do it now. Their customer service is the worse I ever seen. Just stay aways. Find someone else that will treat you better and do your work. Don't do the mistake we did. read more
