Everyone should take their clocks here. They are honest, fair and knowledgeable. There is a reason they have a very high ranking. They provided a $175 estimate & completion date and they followed through with it. They were personable and took the time to explain what was going on with my 1960's clock from Germany. Unfortunately I had to find out the hard way where NOT to go. I made the mistake of first going to the Grandfather Clock Company because they were much closer to where I live. The Grandfather Clock Company ripped me off. The spring in my clock broke while I was winding it. The Grandfather Clock Company said several other parts broke as a result of the spring breaking. They collected a deposit of $168 for a repair which would cost $675. As I drove home my gut was telling me I was being lied to. Not just about the repair but other things the owner told me. He said he was the only clock repair in town - he isn't. He said my clock was worth about $800 and then when I hesitated about fixing it he said my clock was worth $1500. There were other things he stated which did not feel truthful. As I begin questioning him the story would change. I returned the NEXT day and picked up my clock from the Grandfather Clock Company because I sensed I was being lied to about the repairs - which I was. They kept (stole) my $168 deposit even though no work was done on the clock. He said he would not return the deposit because he had done work on the clock and had ordered parts for my clock which he could not return. These were both lies. I had called him a few minutes after dropping it off telling him not to do any work on it since I was having doubts about fixing it so he had not done any work on it or ordered any parts. Since it was June, and my clock had been there in December, he clearly had forgotten about this. I took my clock to the Master Clock Repair. The repairs were successfully done at Master Clock Repair and only the spring was replaced - nothing else was damaged or broken. I waited several months to post this review to be certain the clock was correctly fixed by Master Clock Repair and that there were no other issues. The clock continues to work great in fact he added a small feature for free that I really like. It is a damper that softens the sound. Again, everyone should take their clocks to Master Clock Repair. A few months ago I purchase an old tall case clock it was a beautiful clock but was not running I live in Las Vegas Nevada and there's no one in Nevada to repair clocks properly I Googled clock repair and found Michael Gainey we spoke on the phone a few times and when he was able to take the time to repair it he had me ship it out to him which I was very very nervous about well I shipped the clock and got it there and Mike explain to me what the clock actually need to be repaired the entire process he notified me and I called him several times to get updates on the clock service was unbelievably great he actually made me videos to show me tips on how to repair the clock myself when it came back to Las Vegas when he was ready to ship the clock back he built a crate and it fit in their perfect he told me I would only have to take the clock out of the crate place it back in its cabinet put the pendulum on weights on and start it and that's all I had to do he packed it so unbelievably perfect words can't explain how happy I was if you have an old clock and you want it repaired properly please use Michael Gainey he gained a customer for life again Mike thank you if I could give you 10 Stars I absolutely would so all you out there that have clocks out of state trust me he took an unbelievable amount of time and care to bring my clock back to its Glory the best experience ever getting any of my clocks fixed read more

I bought a hall clock - bigger than a grandfather clock at a moving sale down the street. I was told it was working but it really wasn't. I contacted a local certified clock repair guy who came out and looked at it. Once he determined that it was a Hershede he didn't want to work on it because at least according to him Hershede is the Cadillac of clocks. Bear in mind this clock is 103 years old. Master Clock was recommended to me and after talking to Michael I shipped my clock works from TX up to him for repair. Just as a side note, take your clock to the UPS or Fedex store and let them package it. If it is damaged in transit, which mine was even though it was sent as a fragile item to receive special attention they will stand behind the necessary repairs. Michael did a great job and spent quite a while on a Skype phone call with me to make sure I could put it back together again once it arrived back here in TX. I called Master Clock Repair to look at a R. Whiting Winchester hall clock. Mike returned my call and made an appointment to check the clock and evaluate the job. He arrived on time and assembled the clock, unfortunately the pendulum was not with the other parts. Mike took some measurements and said he could manufacture a new pendulum. I picked up the pendulum three weeks later and tried to get the clock running. Through out the process Mike explained how the clock operated and what needed to be done to get the clock running. I was unsuccessful in my attempts, I made another appointment with Mike to work on the clock. Again he arrived on time and went to work. Not knowing how to begin finding a clockmaker with the skill to restore a 200-year-old grandfather clock, I did an internet search which led me to Mr. Gainey, Master Clock Repairer. The clock had been modified to a gong stroke from the original bell strike movement and needed many teeth replaced as well as a new rake constructed for an accurate strike count. Mr. Gainey restored it to an original bell strike movement. The dial also needed restoring being made of brass and with a silvered dial ring. Much re-bushing was needed as well. Mr. Gainey's website videos showing his before-and-after products convinced me the 900 mile trip from Florida to Ohio would be the wise decision and so it has proven to be. I took in a very sad but fancy multi-movement black forest cuckoo that was in terminal condition and it hadn't run in years. After kids yanked on the weights and destroyed the works. it also had cracked bellows and a missing dancer. I expected it to cost a fortune and take at least 5-6 months to repair and was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price and it only taking a matter of weeks. It is an experience to go to the workshop anywhere near on the hour-I wanted to buy every chiming clock in the place just to replicate the experience. Michael did a great job on my Corvette Neon Clock. I had a real collectors item 24' diameter Corvette Clock with lots of neon on it. Given to me by my brother when I purchased my first Corvette in 1992. The motor was gone so I sent it UPS to Michael for repair. I love these guys! Not only did they repair and clean the internal workings of my cuckoo clock, they kept it for a week or two after in their shop, to insure it's was working properly.
