I called at 11am the day of my appointment to ask if I could purchase a more expensive service for my 1pm scheduled appointment. I got an answering machine so I figured I'd call back since I had time. I called back at 11:40am leaving a message this time. I never received a call back. When I arrived at 12:45 for my 1pm appointment I was greeted nicely. The young lady said "oh I just listened to your message. I can ask Petra if this can be done." The front desk girl came back and said no, so I asked to reschedule. The same front desk girl said "I will charge you for today plus gratuity because the change was not made an hour before your appointment" (actually had she retrieved my voicemail it was more than an hour). I had mentioned she did not have my credit card info to charge me and she snapped back, "I have your gift card info and it will be taken out of that."I felt backed into a corner so I went ahead with the original appointment. Pro Tip: Try their cuticle products! I love Hey Cutie! They seriously work! I visited PAINT Nail Bar last night for Uptown Mani. It wasn't my first time at this salon. I previously stopped in for manis and pedis. They always have a lot of appointment options which is super convenient. As always, I was genuinely impressed with the entire experience. It felt like this time the service was especially friendly and cordial. I received so much attention, it was amazing! The space feels clean, modern, and upscale without being pretentious. The ambiance is calming, with chic decor and a spa-like vibe that sets it apart from traditional nail salons. Furniture is velvety and comfy. The salon is spacious and it feels somehow freeing being there. Think light, airy, and comfy. The salon doubles as a boutique! It has cute one-of-a-kind garments, jewelry, accessories, and even Blind Date with a Book! It's also a very clean and spotless salon! My nail technician took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and the attention to detail was top-notch. I got my first Dazzle Dry Polish mani and quick service. The results? This type of mani is more for a busy professional who is seeking value and speed. I went for the clean girl aesthetic selecting a pretty neutral. The salon has so many color choices though and they're all non-toxic. I'll probably set my sights on my traditional gel next time. My mani bubbled and chipped a bit by the next morning. My previous manis from here were great though so I think it's more of this specific polish. My nail tech also does the cutest designs that she showed me. Let me preface this with I have had great attendance with this place. I have been going for almost 8 months now. Last night I got food poisoning, I was in the ER and notified them around 9:30am this morning that I would have to cancel my appointment. I understand there is a policy for cancelling within 24 hrs but where is your guys humility , sympathy, or care?? This is the first time I cancel within 24 hrs. Explain I am sick and you have to empathy. I will pull the doctors records if I have to be no be changed $96 for an appointment I physically can not make. After I spent $200 for ER. I will never be coming back. And I will make sure to let others know my experience. read more

I scheduled one service and they bc allied to see if I would want to change it with a cost difference of $1. i agreed. my total cost was more than $11 higher. they would not give me a credit for their error in charging and tried to blame me. I have been going to a Paint Nail Bar in another state for more than 2 years so I know how the pricing works. additionally, my nail tech did a horrible job on my pedicure, left the warm towels on for approximately 20 seconds, filled the bowl to the point is was almost overflowing, didn't properly apply the gel or do the callus remover, and didn't file down the top of my nails. I can still see the discoloration where she failed to apply nail polish. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB to get my money back. read more

We had reservations for a party of three for pedicure (for a birthday celebration). I happened to have had a hematoma (a bruise under the nail from trauma) on a nail the tech claimed was "fungus" - which it was NOT. I am an interventional cardiologist that specializes in blood flow for legs and feet, and although not a podiatrist, I know what fungal infections look like. I told them so - they still refused to do my scheduled pedicure. They demanded a formal podiatry note (this is a Saturday afternoon BTW). I've actually been here a couple of times before and it's unacceptable to treat customers this way. Won't be back here ever again. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but overall the experience was meh at best. The vibe and decor was so extremely cute and it felt really clean which I appreciate, however that seemed to be one of the few great things. While my friends and I were there at least 4 people were behind on their appointments and waiting for over 30+ minutes. Then while waiting to simply pay for over 15+ minutes the front desk still wasn't sure if we were charged correctly, there were just too many things about the experience that were kind of a hot mess for my personal experience. read more

WILL NEVER RETURN CAUSED A TRIP TO URGENT CARE. Went there for a full set of acrylics. They were very poorly done and were completely pointing upwards and were crooked. I asked for them to correct them and they did not. Less than 24 hours later before I could go anywhere else to get them taken off, a nail got completely torn off taking my real nail with it. This ended with a trip to the urgent care to get it treated and needing to be put on antibiotics due to losing my nail. Will never return here. read more

Do not go here!!! The new management is even worse than the previous owners. They charge for my original passport, which was ended when the store closed. New owner open up, have all my visa information, placed charge in my card, refuse to refund it, make appointments without ever contacting me, then ask why I didn't come in for it, the receptionist has an incredibly bad attitude!!! Accuses me of disrespecting her when I ask for a refund!!!! Seriously?? I don't know who trained her in customer service! Never once asked what she could do to help! Gave me an earful, slammed down the phone, refused to answer any more calls, sent me a nasty text, refused to give managers number, only an email. Manager reply: tell me why you emailed! Me: long description detailing what had happened so far Manager: I will call you on Friday. The best nail experience, the staff was so kind and welcome. The location is a prime area and there is a large parking lot.I enjoyed the ambiance of the music and a cocktail. Totally false...... it is actually a DRY polish change, nothing more, nothing less - no water soak, not cuticle oil, just dry cutting and cuticle pushing, not effective at all. Pedicure was 15 minutes late on the appointment and in 7 minutes from starting, she was ready to polish. Lesson learned, never again and do not recommend. read more

I happened to be next door and have never been to Paint Nail Bar, so I dropped in to schedule an appointment later in the day. I was 11 minutes late and was called and told my credit card was being charged. This is absurd, I've never been charged a nonsense fee for being late. This policy was never disclosed to me upon scheduling the appointment as a first-time client and I certainly would have walked out on the spot. I'm a regular patron at Magic Nails Salon 10 minutes away on Pleasant Valley Road and Mia Salons On Market Place just a few streets away. Do yourself a favor and go to either of those instead. By the way, it was completely dead inside when I was there. Apparently, there's only way to make money is to charge ridiculous fees. read more

I have tried to support this business a few times and it was like pulling teeth. They don't take walk-ins, which is fine, but you do have to make your reservation pretty far in advance. I finally booked an appointment and it let me schedule my nails and toes at the same time. This didn't seem unusual since I have had these services done at the same time at many other places. When i arrived they told me that the system should not have let me book them together and that they would not perform them at the same time. AND that they would not be able to give me second appointment. I said it was fine, if they could just do my nails and then change the polish on my toes it would be fine. They went to the back to discuss and then came back and told me they could do that. The tech that did my nails took an hour for a manicure all while the tech that was supposed to do my toes was just floating around. Then at the end the tech that did my nails said the tech couldn't leave her next client waiting because she was "a bride." She didn't even come out and tell me herself. Then I had to wait while the checked-in the bride who wasn't even a regular, all while they could have been changing my toe polish. I felt like such crap, like my money wasn't good there. I had a wedding the next day so I had to come home and put on a pair of gloves to do my own toe polish change. Which again is fine, but then don't say you'll do it! In hindsight I am glad they saved me from having to sit through a second hour. I don't know how this place will survive if they spend so much time on one service. Not to mention the poor customer service and the gel manicure wasn't even that good. It's wrinkled on the sides and I expect it to be chipping in a few days. When they checked me out they asked me if I wanted to leave gratuity, which I did want to do and I did add 20%. But they actually said the words "we recommend 20%" like it was my first day on this planet. I get that some people are rude about tipping, but they literally just gave me horrible service. They could have just left that part off. They asked me if i wanted to add gratuity and I said yes. They didn't need to suggest. Will not return. Update- they are peeling less than 12 hours later. Seriously, skip this place. Support the other local nail salons. read more
