I did receive the tickets to the Great Wheel but never used them although they are good up to a year from the ticket's insurance date. I guess you get some of your destination fee back with a $14 food and beverage credit when you charge it to your room, but essentially they are forcing you to dine on the property. To top that off, whenever you purchased food and beverage from any of the food outlets, they charge a mandatory service fee which I guess was okay if you consider that as mandatory tip. Anyhow, what I did like about this hotel is that it was really close to the Symphony light rail stop. However, what was unpleasant was having to push my heavy suitcase up the hill. It seemed like the room was a bit run down particularly the bathroom. The water pressure in my shower was sporadic like it needed a water hammer arrestor. My room smelled like moth balls. The lower level lobby was only accessible via stairs. This is an issue if you had luggage like I did. I think you would have to go back outside and walk on the sidewalk to get to the upper level lobby. Although the staff was very friendly, I was disappointed overall with my stay. I was expecting more from the W hotel.

Even as ambassadors, we waited two hours for our room despite giving our arrival time at least a week in advance. I get that it was slammed, but it still set the tone. Valet was a full-on mess--cars backed up onto the main street, traffic snarled, and general havoc all around. Again, game day likely amplified this, but it was still frustrating. As for the rooms: outdated. The kind of outdated that feels untouched rather than intentionally retro. There is a real old-school bathtub, which was honestly the most interesting part. Our "Puget Sound view" was technically accurate but amounted to a thin sliver of water if you leaned just right. Would I go back specifically to hotel if i had other choices? No. There are better spots in Seattle that feel more current, more welcoming, and far less stuck in 2003.

Gorgeous new place on the block!!…read more Stunning new event space right in south lake union/ downtown with sweeping lake union views. Views alone were worth a trip or 4!! Came for the opening of this shiny new spot yesterday. A gorgeous 3,000 square foot event space that was completely remodeled: with in house catering, vendors, event planners, photo booths, musician! And the food. It was like going to a super fun wedding minus the formality of it. The owner was there as well: super passionate and shared the story of how she bought this space sight unseen: took a long process in turning this into a gorgeous space that it is now. It was super cool! And the food!! They allow outside catering too but the in-house catering: Kaspar catering : baos topped with micro greens and mint. Steamed to serve! Poke rolls :delicious! Panna cotta : in a cup! Lisa Dupar catering: this one was fantastic as I've had a chance to taste their food in the past at a wedding. The gorgeous cupcakes, macarons, molasses cookies and stunning cake. All were so pretty! Mark ryan wine! I mean, what's not to love as it's one of the wineries I frequent in Woodinville wine country. My pup baci's favorite too. Luxe Photo Booth: this one was so fun! The 360 Photo Booth!! I've seen them in Time Squares recently as well as at a valentines event. But this one was so much more fun as I didn't have to wait in line or fight the crowd for it. The person that was running it was super friendly and helpful too. The jazz musician was pretty rad too. And they had valet!! Butler Valet: All the friendly guys in uniform waiting for you as you arrived during rush hour in downtown: pretty darn cool. All events should be this cool. I'm only going to events with valet from now on! Ok thanks. Overall, this was such a fun place.I came to check out the space: left with all the food and fun.The space, the team, the design, the music!! And that Photo Booth: all are essential part of throwing an epic event. All events should be this fun!! I guess they will be if you throw them here: weddings, birthdays, corporate events, sweet 16th. I wouldn't mind coming here for a photoshoot: hello contents!!Or just a fun anything event.Did I mention the views?? Ahh the possibilities!!!

TERRIBLE venue management under the guise of a beautiful space…read more In short, three months after signing with The Barn at Holly Farm we were told management would rather start a year of self-initiated renovations than honor their contract with us. Their decision not only affected us, but at least nine other couples who had booked weddings there too. For my fiancé and me, this left us with less than 7 months before the wedding date to find a new venue and re-plan our entire event. It took over a month for us to find a new space that could accommodate our wedding size indoors. To receive a full refund, we were expected to sign a document that stated we wouldn't make any comments which "may, directly or indirectly, disparage" The Barn at Holly Farm (obviously we did not accept those terms). It then took over a month to receive the funds for The Barn's breach of contract. I hope no other couple has to experience The Barn at Holly Farm's mismanagement and the nightmare experience they caused at least 10 couples in 2021!

My husband and I were married at the Barn at Holly Farm in May 2019 (I meant to leave a review…read moresooner but life quickly got in the way). We worked with Karmel as well as a flower vendor (Dirty Girl) and photographers (GSquared) whom Karmel recommended. Part of the reason we were drawn to this venue is because of the good works that they do with equine therapy and rescued farm animals. Our experience with the Barn was fantastic. We really hit it off with Karmel and she made planning the wedding fun and low stress. The vendors she recommended also did a great job and at the end of the day, are just good people. I feel like they all connected with us on a personal level. One fun perk this venue offered is for a small fee someone from the Barn takes guests out to meet some of the animals (chickens, goats, llamas, etc.) during the social hour before the reception. This was a lovely and charming way to start the celebration. I think that what we paid was fair for the service we received. The only snafu at the very end was having to pack our own stuff even though we paid extra for the clean-up service, but it was mostly just our personal belongings and it wasn't a big deal. There's always a little wedding drama - in this case our own guests, and the way that Karmel and vendors went about handling it to reduce the stress on us was beautifully done. They were respectful and discreet and we were incredibly grateful for their support. The space itself on the day of the wedding was absolutely stunning and everything was set up exactly as we had planned. It was a truly magical day and I'm so glad we chose the Barn to get married. I'd do it all over again. :)

We asked the server if we could order food at 8:45 and she said it wasn't allowed and walked away. it then took 25 min before we waved down another server to order drinks, because our server served Every person in the room before us and never came back. In that same time two tables around us were served items that we were told we couldn't order and that it was because they came early...except they came in at the same time we did. We asked the people next to us and they said it's because they come all the time. Which is so weird. When we flagged down a server to put down our drink order and asked again about the food she said she was going to go and check with the kitchen and she never came back. What did happen after that though was almost every server except our own of corse, because she never came back again the entire night, made snarky comments to us about everything and were just weirdly short with every interaction. This is the most overrated event. They clearly don't treat all their guest with the same respect and service. We spent $70 to buy tickets, and weren't even treated as human and then at the end of the night after not a single person asked us if we wanted anything and avoided our table like the plague, they had the nerve to act like they were doing us a favor for not meeting the minimum order requirement of $20 a person. We couldn't even get a server to come to our table. We were planning on spending a lot of money tonight, we were there for a galentines date and really wanted to have a good time and the way we were treated really just ruined the entire night. I would never come back again. I do not recommend!

We'd made our orders and when the person with the most severe restrictions (dairy, gluten, and soy free) send in her RSVP card, she noted these requirements. We were the first to arrive at the reception of all the guests, since I am one of the few locals attending and I knew how to get around the 'under construction' primary route that both host directions and GPS directions wanted attendees to take. We were warmly greeted. When we mentioned one of our party had dietary restrictions, they already knew and she spoke with the kitchen manager to be sure everything would be good. The staff was excellent in keeping everything on a timely manner. The food was excellent. I abstained from the bar items, but everyone else seemed to enjoy their beverages. Three appetizers were served, a vegetarian spring roll with mint that was really good, a chicken with satay sauce, and a BLT slider. All items were liked by the people who had them. Ours was a plated dinner, with bread on the table (warm with a salty crust - delicious!), starting with a nice salad with a vinaigrette dressing. We had a beef meal with yummy mashed potatoes (my daughter's favorite part of the dish), a crab cake crusted halibut (best fish my husband has had in our year+ out here in Seattle), and the vegetarian ravioli. A lemon sorbet was served to cleanse the palate between salad and entree course. So classy! I've had that before, but I think this is the only time in my adult life I've attended an event with it. There is a balcony outside the 4th floor room and it was very nice to go out there to get a break from the noise. Because of the size of the room, the number of guests (about 60) and the DJ, the room was rather loud. It also had some temperature issues. A couple of us at my table were quite cold, but someone else mentioned it was really warm over by their table. The view is stunning!

On a recent sunny Saturday, we ventured out to the Seattle waterfront to enjoy it before the cruise ship tourist season starts. Bell Harbor was one of the places that I want to finally visit. I was happy to see a sandwich board sign on the street indicating the terrace is open via the elevator.
