We have had nothing but problems with our Vector Security system since we had it installed in our…read morenew home. We thought the system in our previous house had been canceled but we continued to receive alarms for several weeks. When that was finally resolved we had problems with the display panel in the new house and were told it needed a new backup battery even though it had just been installed and since it was past 60 days we would have to pay a service fee. Then the problems with the medic alert pendant started. We received the first call on Oct 31st while my husband was in the hospital after a minor stroke and the pendant was at home on his nightstand. Apparently it needed a new battery also even though we were again assured that such failures were very unusual. We were told the earliest a repair tech could be scheduled was November 21st -- 3 weeks later. Because of the repeated problems and shortage of technicians we have asked to cancel the account but Vector refuses because we are trapped in a 3 year contract.

I decided to go with the Vivint system. I put this poor guy through the ringer but everything is clearly written in the contract. Of course if you sign it you are bound. I had to take a phone call where this lady who seemed pretty friendly but, serious asked me annoying questions that I had already agreed to with the sales guy. I love the system. Absolutely. I had adt before. Can't complain about too much with them. I set my new system off on accident because I was used to the back door sensor not working. Which of course Vivint had to replace. And they pad had someone speaking to me in the same minute it seemed. I like the app. I like the equipment. I like the convenience. I like it. If you are sitting with a Vivint guy. Ask him questions. Don't get yourself into a pickle like these other people are saying. I just want to post a good review since it seems only the bad ones make it up.

I called and spoke with Vicky who was super nice and helpful. She was able to get us in earlier than later since we close at 2pm. I'm not kidding when I say they came in less than an hour. The two gentlemen were very knowledgeable about what needed to be done, they had what they needed in the truck, so in about 2 hours the work was complete and our door was as good as new. Dealer said "sure we can do that. I have an opening in three weeks. But that will give you enough time to say farewell to your first borne child." But at Eastern, I walked right in and job complete in under 20 minutes. Now they certainly were swamped with service calls and there were two other walk-ins when I was there, so at times you could see a little longer wait depending on the complexity of your requirements or the volume of other customers. Child still with Mom, key remote fully functioning in less than 3 weeks, and enough pocket money left over to treat the missus to lunch. Bonus.
