Took 10 minutes to get a peroni, burger came out over cooked after we were told they might not even have it (it's a "new" menu), had about 6 fries accompanying it, and the waiter didn't even try to pretend to remember the mayo we'd asked for. I usually go to the Silver Spring location, but had some time before my nail appointment so I stopped in planning to get snacks off the HH menu. Turns out it's Restaurant Week (RW) in the DMV, so I sat at the bar and ordered a dragonfruit mojito while checking out their "social hour" menu. I decided to order the RW 3 course menu for dinner: apple & pear salad, miso salmon and brownie with salted caramel & ice cream for dessert. The salad was a large portion and pretty good, but leaned sweet for me. It could have used some red onion or more blue cheese to balance it out. Overall I enjoyed it and had leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The highlight of the meal was the miso sauce that came with the salmon. OMG I wanted to ask for a side to take home, it was sooooo good. I've had miso on Chilean sea bass before and enjoyed it, but this sauce was next level good!!! I had to get my dessert to go, so I wasn't late for my appointment, so not sure how well it will travel but I enjoyed my meal and will definitely return for that salmon dish. I'm new to the area and the first time I went I got pizza and drinks with friends and I thought it had a nice ambience and friendly staff. My visit to day was disappointing .... I went for pizza and I iticed they had a brunch menu that included French toast made with challah and my taste buds immediately changed. When I received it I had to look at the kids menu to see if I was given a child's portion but there is no child portion on the menu. Ughhhhh the pics speak for themselves. In case you didn't know, Matchbox is always a very solid and enjoyable choice. We decided on it since the reviews of the surrounding restaurants were shaky and we were too hungry to choose wrong. We split the ginormous meatball - it was delicious and has a nice little kick (spicy). The bread that comes with it is also super soft, warm, and tasty. I had a small bite because I'm watching my carbs, but you could honestly do without the bread and just go ham on the meatball (no pun). For my entree I had the Cobb salad with crispy chicken and my gf had the steak chimchurri (sp?) frites. I tasted my friend's steak and it was *delicious* - the flavors were a pleasant surprise! I didn't taste the Parmesan fries but they looked pretty basic - thick cut and sprinkled with shaved and powdered parm. My salad was good; standard Cobb, small portions. I wouldn't get it again as my entree just because you can get one at sweetgreen or chopt that's more creative + cheaper. Our waiter Ben was *awesome*. After a day where I woke up at 5 after going to sleep at 1am, going to the airport and flying into BWI, taking a cab to Bethesda and working the rest of my day...come happy hour this restaurant was literally the best thing to happen to me all day. I made fast friends with Savannah and stayed till close I'm pretty sure. I plan on going back tomorrow because she said she would be there. Nick the GM was also a fantastic host during my time there. He came over and introduced himself (obviously) apropos of nothing and we ended up talking occasionally throughout the night. They were so friendly and inviting that I stayed way behind the end of their very solid happy hour. Coming from NY, having so many specialty pizzas to chose from was just fantastic. Finally tried the new Bethesda location on day 2 of opening. Staff was very welcoming and the manager greeted every table. The fig and prosciutto pizza is a must! Love the outdoor seating available at this location, and the menu has a ton of great options and reasonable prices. One of my friends is a picky eater and was still able to find something that they enjoyed! I really enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip and holy grail Margherita brick oven pizza. Went to Matchbox for a business lunch (so I couldn't take any pics without looking basic) and was greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. The menu had a lot of diverse options, but what caught my eye was the prosciutto and fig brick oven pizza with gluten-sensitive crust. Although I took a risk with the crust, I had had gluten-free crust done right at multiple other establishments, so I knew it was possible. This crust however was disappointing as it had a frozen taste to it. The figs didn't taste fresh either and were rather sticky. I would recommend Matchbox invest more in fresh ingredients and homemade dishes to compete with the many culinary treasures in the greater D.C. area. read more

We had a great team dinner in Bethesda. Food was wonderful and staff was attentive to all 19 of us. I forgot my work bag with many important valuables in it when we left, and didn't realize until the next morning when I prepared to return to work. I found out the manager had taken a picture of my bag, emailed it to our work contact, and stored it in their locked office overnight.
