Such a let down after they renovated it for 2 years…read more I used to love sitting at a table in the shade with my book and watch my family bring our dogs down there to play and now I can't even do that because the tables and chairs are gone and they build up the rock wall around the beach. The beach is still inaccessible there are giant cement blocks so it's not a straight shot down for a wheelchair and the grass around them is very uneven and hilly like ground for a wheelchair to go over and I got stuck in the rocks and had to ask people to help push me out, then on the way back to the walk way (video I posted) my wheelchair was going to flip. There are small simple things that they could have been done, I've been to other beach's that have strips over the sand/ rocks that wheelchairs can ride over. The building looks nice they added a small golf course. To me it seems like all they did was build the restaurant and build up the rock walls especially around the beach.

We went May 16 to see the full bloom, however, there were still some trees in bloom and it was very pretty and it smelled good. The area is well kept where the garden is but when you venture off into one side, it's a dark tunnel with spray paint all over. People were still running through it so I'm assuming it's a safe area. it's across the street from an art museum and the Japanese garden is a part of another history museum. Overall, I would say go because it is a pretty area with free parking, just missing a star because I thought it was going to be much larger with more history.

It's okay though, because he's famous. I love this place, as I love the adjacent Squaw Island Park and Bird Island Pier. A lot of people underrate this place but they shouldn't. It's a lovely spot in Buffalo and unlike any other, especially because the Pier that extends out from here, goes all the way under the PB. I was last here not too long ago, a few months maybe. I always bring out of town tourists here (if they like walking), we wander around Squaw Island, the park, this part of it, and then along the Pier. It's beautiful, the views are spectacular, I recommend it to anyone. It's pretty harrowing in winter, though. In fact, Broderick Park is that amazing park just north of the Peace Bridge. To get to it, you drive all the way to the end of Ferry, across the rusted metal drawbridge, and you're on a little green island, which is also known as Broderick Park. It's a wonderful park with spectacular views of the Peace Bridge (known as the Pizza Bridge to Canadians because it's their most direct link to amazing Pizza... i.e. Buffalo Pizza), and it gives way to Bird Island Pier, where you can flip the bird to Canada-bound trucks and passenger cars and buses, and there's really nothing they can do about it except vow to exact revenge upon their return to the country, which may not even happen given the climate of border crossings into the USA at the moment.

Going over the rickety bridge is quite the adventure. Lots of times in Sundays you'll see small ethnic celebrations going on. It's definitely one of the quieter parks around. The trail leads you down the shore up to Broderick. I highly recommend riding your bike over the turning bridge and to the other side and heading out the Broderick side with the draw bridge

I had originally planned on just doing a quick lunch walk to do some bird watching but when I got there I quickly realized I'd be there longer than expected because there were so many rarer birds I had never seen and the place was so beautiful! The trail along the gorge rim was really gorgeous. Pun intended Some of the other trails inside of the woods were pretty muddy and a bit hard to follow because of the leaves, but using the alltrails app helped a lot. All of the trials were well marked too, which I really appreciated. It does seem like this place needs a bit more upkeep, but for the most part it's a really great park to walk at and it's dog friendly. All of the trails are pretty moderate and not too strenuous.

This park consists of a softball field, a couple of baseball fields, an outdated jungle gym and…read moreseesaw, a a nature trail, and a new enclosed dog park. The good: The dog park is pretty cool. There are separate sections for small dogs and large dogs so the small dogs don't get trampled. The small dog section has a little obstacle course of sorts that reminds me of dog shows. Both sections have a few sitting areas and a basket filled with an assortment of toys. There's a new baseball diamond with covered dug out. The bad: The softball field and old baseball field do not have covered dugouts. The jungle gym is very small. The ugly: I'm not sure how well kept the nature trail is, but the entrance appeared a little over grown. There's some poison ivy in the large dog enclosure so be careful.

The Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is a cool little spot. The staff are super…read morenice. Inside the center you can hear wildlife sounds and learn what to look for. The standout for me was this amazing topographic map where you move the sand and it updates the contour lines live. I wish I had that when learning maps. They also run a bunch of events... I've done a luminary walk and an owl prowl, plus there are eagle nest outings and birding stuff. The gift shop is small but nice. Overall, if you're looking for a good nature outing, this(and the other sites they manage are great. Swallow Hollow is my favorite trail, but the whole area is awesome.

The reserve itself is huge and I haven't covered all of the resist but have a few go-tos. There are bathrooms and porta-potties available at various trail entrances. There is ample parking as well.
