We just had our Eucalyptus trees trimmed and I am very happy with the outcome. Mitch gave me a set price (prior to starting) and kept true to his word. He actually estimated the job with both an hourly rate and a flat rate and pointed out the flat rate was better from my end so we agreed to go with the flat rate. The tree trimmers and support crew were second to none. Very professional and focused on the task at hand. Once in the trees I requested they trim a good 10' more off each tree and they had no problem doing so. Rich stated they want to make sure the customer is happy with the work so they periodically seek your feedback while the work is in progress. They ran out of time on the first day so today (Wednesday) they came back and performed final clean up. And boy does our backyard look great! I wish our gardner did as good a job in cleaning up the backyard. read more

I asked a few companies for quotes to get 2 Eucalyptus trees felled, and Mathers Tree Service was the one we chose to go ahead with. They were able to bump us up their schedule by a few days after we voiced safety concerns (the high winds of the recent storms were having the trees make ominously loud creaking sounds). They arrived on time at 8am and by 2:30pm had left our home in the condition they found it, minus two large eucalyptus trees. Have always been fully satisfied with the work performed by Mitch and his crew on our trees. Today I was also impressed by his honesty. Had Mitch came by today to inspect a large tree in front of our house which looked like it might need to be thinned out. It seemed over burdened with foliage to me. I received instead of an estimate to do the work an opinion it was not necessary for another year or more. We just moved into a house with beautiful oaks surrounding it. Our home inspector recommended we trim back the trees away from the home for fire safety purposes. Mathers Tree Service gave me a lower estimate than the tree company that my realtor recommended, and although no one had referred them to me and I couldn't find them on Yelp (which I would've preferred), I took a chance. I liked that when walking through our property, Mitchell recommended to defer work on a couple trees until a cooler season to avoid putting too much stress on those trees, despite this recommendation not being in their immediate interest of generating revenue on that work more immediately. I also chose them because of their competitive pricing, they're licensed, at least one owner / operator is present for the job, Mitchell is a certified arborist and knowledgeable about preserving both the health and aesthetics of the oaks, and they had workers compensation coverage. They just left our home after taking care of our trees, including removing weight and deadwood from large oaks, removing two small trees that were encroaching on a couple larger ones, removing large poisonous oleander bushes from near our deck, and removing poisonous oak vines that had grown up through two oak trees. They were professional and friendly. Before starting work, we walked through the property again to validate the scope, and talked through any questions. They performed the job and midway through asked me to walk through and let them know if I wanted anything else. Based on our walk through, they removed one more large oak branch that was close to the deck. Then at the end of the job, they cleaned up nicely and thoroughly, and had me do one final walk through. I will be using Mathers Tree Service again - this fall / winter to take care of the oaks that they recommended to leave alone until it wasn't so hot ... I'd happily recommend this company to my friends and neighbors. read more

We just had a wonderful experience with Mathers Tree Service. I'd give more stars if I could. Mathers helped remove 3 precarious trees near our home that needed to be removed. We got multiple bids before we ended up going with Mathers. Not only was theirs the lowest bid, they showed up for on time for the estimate, and they also talked us out of some work that didn't need to be done (a few trees we thought needing thinning). They estimated the removal would take two days - they completed it in one and charged us less as a result. They also left our yard and driveway so clean it was hard to tell they'd even been here. 1000% recommend. read more

I called these folks off of one of those inserts in the Valpak over a year ago and got a really reasonable quote for removal of some large trees and trimming of a large oak in my back yard. I called them up 2 weeks ago finally and the quote was still good they came out within a week and in 4 hours knocked out removal of three trees one of which was atleast 50ft tall. 4 guys including the owners (father and son) and 2 other helpers.
