I recently had a wonderful massage by Bob for my birthday. I used a livingsocial deal and it was the easiest booking I have ever made. I even love that he will text because I'm honestly not a talking on the phone type of person (bad I know). I get massages regularly but never from the comfort of my home so this was a real treat. I've had Bob and a few of his assistants to my house a couple times now. Both single and couples massages. Always on time. Always professional. Easy to communicate with and comfortable to have in my home. Super reasonably priced. You don't need anything to prepare for this. They come with everything. Less than 10 minutes after arrival they have tables with soft sheets, soft music and the room smelling/feeling good, calming, relaxing. There's a few minutes of chit-chat to determine what style massage you want, and if you have any areas of concern. They step out of the room so you can undress - to whatever level you are comfortable with - and you hop under the sheets. You say when you are ready, they come in and make the next 60 or 90 minutes fly by. Bob does great work. He's given me incredible relaxation style massages and has done down and dirty work on the knots/upper back issues my husband has. He knows just the right kind of pressure to use for what you want. I have been getting regular massages for more than 25 years, and have been receiving weekly massages with Bob for several months now. Bob is the ultimate professional always arriving 10 to 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time to set up, not taking up time of your massage. He has an amazingly intuitive touch and I have learned to just let him do his thing and not suggest "a little deeper" or "can you do (whatever)". Having said that, he is very accommodating with any requests, and is attentive to your response. I have always had deep tissue massages. Many therapists use their elbows, but never with the control Bob has. All in all, if you need a massage, this is your guy! read more

I was visiting the Chicago area on business and asked my hotel if they could locate a mobile massage service but they were not successful. I had declined a rental car for this trip and the closest service was just short of an hour drive so I needed someone to come to the hotel as I was not about to take a 2 hour cab ride. I was not going to give up hope though. I used Google to search for mobile massage services and started making calls. I read all of the reviews on Mathews and called them. I got the owner Robert (Bob) and ask about rates, if they accepted credit cards, availability, etc. The pricing is reasonable and they offer deals online too. But this was at 5pm and I was looking for services for that evening. Short notice on my part so I knew it was a long shot. Bob was very nice/professional, explained thoroughly and said he would try to make some arrangements and get back to me and indicated (at this time) he was the only one on his team that has the ability to take credit cards. Moments after, Bob called back and stated he could be there at 7:30, and he was. The service was superior and one of the best massages I have ever had. Bob brought everything necessary to create the right experience at the hotel. Music, fresh linens/sheets for the mobile table. He even had an extra blanket when I asked. Bob performed a 1 hour deep tissue massage for me and I cannot say enough good things about his techniques. He is very powerful, and I always prefer male masseurs for their strength. He also used several techniques that I was not familiar with from other masseuses so the variety was welcome. Bob also asked in advance if there were any trouble zones or any areas I did not want addressed in any way. He performed a specific style of wrap to the sheets (Swedish maybe?) where the sheets are tucked and pulled in a certain way to allow the client maximum personal privacy (so your private parts remain private.) Bob really knows his stuff. Anyone who may be nervous about this should put aside any anxiousness and call them. Check them out on Facebook (there are deals on there too!) I bought a Lifebooker deal for an in home couples massage after reading the great reviews on here. The masseuse(s)? (what is the plural of masseuse??? haha!) arrived on time with their equipment. It was the first time getting a massage for both of us. They had us fill out a form about medical history and answering some questions about where we felt the most tension and how high our tension was. I, of course, circled every part as work is very stressful right now. They suggested that deep tissue would not be good for first timers, so we were happy with that-didn't want to get scared after the first time. They brought their own music and did a great job. I can't remember the name of the girl I had (will need to find that out-they should have individual cards for each masseuse), but my husband had a guy named Alex and he said he did a great job. Since I circled everywhere, she even massaged my face-I felt a little silly because she was smushing my face-but it was all worth it! They set up their comfy tables and music very quickly. Leah gave me a VERY relaxing massage and worked out several knots in my shoulders - felt great! Back in February of this year (2013), I originally was going to purchase through Groupon or Living Social (I can't remember which one) a deal of $120 for 3 massages that was offered. I had some questions first, so I called Bob directly to get questions answered, and ordered the 3 massages for my boyfriends birthday. He told me that I could just go through him to buy them, and so I did. Long story short, I paid Bob directly the $120 and ordered the first massage. In September, I realized that we didn't use the other 2 massages so I called Bob to order another one. He claimed that they needed to be used within 6 months. This was NEVER discussed when I purchased them in February, and I told Bob this. He said that he would refund $40 to me for one massage only.and here it is towards the end of November (close to 2 months later), and I STILL have not received the refund. I have made several attempts to get the $40 refund as promised, but I'm being ignored. He has not returned any phone calls or text messages except to tell me that he is professional. I see that others are claiming that Bob is professional, but with my experience, Bob is the quite the opposite. I'm a self-employed business person, and I would NEVER ignore my clients. If I were you, go through Groupon or Living Social so you are protected against these side deals where you end up paying more ($120 plus $20 tip) for one massage. This side deal was NOT a deal, and left a very bad taste in my mouth! read more
