What an incredible dining experience! From the moment we walked in, our server Jess and the entire staff made us feel so welcome. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We started with the shrimp scampi and scallops, and both were absolutely delicious. For our entrées, the filet was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender, while the chicken thighs were packed with flavor. We paired dinner with a fantastic Nebbiolo that complemented everything beautifully. We couldn't leave without dessert, and we're glad we didn't. The cheesecake was rich and creamy, and the bread pudding was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. If you're visiting Lake Tahoe, Soule Domain is a must. We'll definitely be back!

Our first time here and we were late due to road work. They still accommodated us and sat us at a nice table near a window. Our server had a hippy vibe but was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They offer beer, wine and sparkling only and prices were reasonable. We started by sharing the Grilled Lamb and Goat Salad which was quite delicious and filling. On its own, it could easily have been an entree. I ordered one of the specials, a crusted filet of sole that was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin and said it was very good. There was no room for dessert but hopefully next time. Excellent neighborhood gem. We will be back!

I was surprised at how small this restaurant was and how close together the tables are. It was like eating in grandmas basement and there were cobwebs on the ceiling. The waitress starts off telling you all the specials. It's a lot of information I would prefer a print out so I can read it all and see the prices. I felt uncomfortable asking the prices but I also don't want to be surprised with price at the end so I stuck with a printed menu item. No one was coming over to refill our water. I think our experience would have been more pleasant with the owner that was serving tables. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and attentive. The food wasn't memorable. It was nice that the bread butter and hummus was automatically included.

Small restaurant so be sure to make a reservation on their website especially for weekend/holiday. Amazing service. Introduced us to the special for the days and made recommendations for us. They were also able to accommodate us for the birthday dinner. Started off with the salad and tasted fresh and has good crisp from the apple. The escargot was buttery and the pastry is good with the sauce. The pork tenderloin was cooked perfectly. Tender and has a good sauce. White Shrimp, Fresh Sea Scallops & 1/4 Maine Lobster Tail with fettuccine was good. White shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly but the lobster was a bit overcooked. Good place if you are looking for fine dining or to celebrate a special occasion in Tahoe.

I took my wife to dinner last night to celebrate her birthday. I made reservations for us at Soule Domain just over the state line in CA. I was unable to get inside reservations because of a large party. So we ate on their outside patio under an easy up with two other couples. It turned out to be the best dinner experience ever! The other two couples and us had a lot in common and were close in age. We ended up having large discussions back and forth, wishing each other happy birthdays and happy anniversary's. Dinner started out with warm fresh bread and hummus. Diane had a glass of rose and soft drink for me. Then came a garden salad for me and a house special salad for Diane. Then came the cauliflower soup with cumin. Delish! For the main course my wife had duck breast with veggies. I had scallops, shrimp and lobster with rice and mixed veggies. Indescribably delicious! For desert we shared a humungous slice of chocolate cake sprinkled with powdered sugar with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with cinnamon! Last night was a perfect "10"

Came back here for the second time! It is definitely my favorite spot for dinner in Tahoe. The chef gave out a complimentary carrot and ginger soup. I end up always getting a special! Today I had swordfish. The sauce was sweet and spicy that paired well with the fish! I also had the flan this time for dessert which was good, but the bread pudding is still my favorite! This is a must date night dinner spot!

Not really worth the hype, it's small cozy and that's about it. The food all had strange additions like oranges or random garnishes on them. It was pricey and frankly for the price you can get more I feel.

Special fish: black cod was extraordinary. So tender and unique butter dill garlic lemon sauce was delicious. 5 stars

Cute log cabin dining spot with traditional American fish, meat, and pasta dishes--some with Asian flavors that were hit or miss. 3.5 stars Food: 3.5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no, but on their website Return worthiness: maybe Highlights: - Special fish: black cod was extraordinary. Was so tender barely needed my fork to touch it to get a piece off. The sauce was unique a lemon butter with garlic, dill and other flavors that worked so well together. 5 stars - Dessert: flourless gluten free chocolate cake with cream layers in between was great and tasted like a brownie. 4.25 stars - Petit pasta fettuccine: appetizer/kid portion. My teen ended up ordering 2 with chicken and enjoyed it. 4 stars - Entrees all come with cup of soup (asparagus fennel), mixed veg (carrots, zucchini, squash, asparagus), and starch (rice pilaf for some, potatoes for others). - Atmosphere: cute mountain log cabiny feel. - Bread: combo of a slices of French and one with carraway seeds. Refilled for our entrees to dip in the sauces. - Half bottles: had lots of options for wine. Midlights: - Filet: just ok and pepper sauce was extra spicy. 3 stars - For reservations, you can cancel online but not change. - Have to put your credit card in to reserve and if you don't cancel by 5 hours before, they will charge $25 per person. - When you reserve there are a fee options (backroom, downstairs fireplace, outside, etc.) but didn't know what either of them were like to choose. Lowlights - Scallops pork belly: didn't care for the red sauce and pork belly pieces were tiny cubes. Scallops were good. 2.5 stars - Lobster wontons: unpopular opinion as I did not care for this favorite of so many yelpers. Wonton skin was good but couldn't taste much lobster --mostly ginger. Broth it was swimming in was too vinegary. 2 stars Was good to try -- wish the other dishes were as stellar as my fish special.

Amazing food delicious filet with wine sauce. Even the shrimp scampi app was something else. Very delicious . Amazing location and super wonderful group of people working

    Is the fettuccini homemade?

Is it prettier to sit on patio or garden it's September.?

It's more like a front yard. It's a pretty garden but I really prefer the inside. Very cozy and warm ambience with plenty of windows to enjoy the garden.

Is dress code casual? Jeans ok?

Yes casual is fine for most Lake Tahoe restaurants

    What days are they open?

We started with the sage and cheddar biscuits, which were wonderful, and the glazed pork belly with chili crunch with toasted cashews - the combo of the nuts and pork was really delicious. We then had the Niman Ranch pork chop and grilled steak frites. Pork chop came with creamy polenta, mushrooms, and a blueberry glaze - I'm hungry just writing about all this. The chop was grilled to perfection - moist (no pink meat) and nicely charred for the flavor. The glaze is a hint of sweetness and the creamy polenta is a winner. The mushrooms are an excellent compliment. The grilled steak was also cooked to perfection - medium rare. The flat iron steak is such a great cut of meat. The fries in duck fat were very good. For dessert, we had a chocolate masterpiece. The meal was well priced considering the location and the time of year. And while the meal was special, it was the service that really made the experience special. While being utterly professional, the staff is also friendly and on top of it. I regret I didn't ask the hostess her name, but she was excellent - filled our water glasses without being asked once, and asked if we would like clean utensils after our appetizers. Our server was also excellent. I'd have more pictures usually, but we were so hungry after a LONG day at Sand Harbor, we forgot!

I'd recommend looking into parking options ahead of time and giving yourself some extra time before your reservation. We were seated right away. Indoor seating is somewhat limited, but they have plenty of outdoor seating for nice days. The atmosphere inside was pleasant, everything was clean, and the seating was comfortable. We were greeted by a very nice woman who got our coffee orders--and this is where my biggest complaint starts. I drink my coffee black, so there's nowhere for bad coffee to hide. Unfortunately, this was some of the worst coffee I've had in a long time. It was extremely watered down and almost completely tasteless. I actually ordered whole milk just to give it some flavor, which is something I normally never do. They also don't have an espresso machine, so switching to an Americano or another espresso drink wasn't an option. For a brunch restaurant, the coffee was surprisingly disappointing. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was good, but nothing that would make me order it again instead of trying something different if we return. One thing I did appreciate was how easily they accommodated one of our friends who is vegetarian. There was no fuss or confusion, and they made it simple for her to find something that worked. One real standout, though, was our waitress. She was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and had a great sense of when to check on the table without constantly interrupting our conversation. She seemed to appear exactly when we needed something and otherwise let us enjoy brunch with our friends. I really appreciated her style of service. Overall, everyone at the table agreed we'd give Sage Leaf another try. It's a nice place with excellent service, and they were very accommodating, but coming all the way from Reno, it's a bit of a stretch for bad coffee and food that, at least on this visit, was just okay. If we're in the area again, we'd certainly give it another shot.

We met some longtime friends for dinner last night and it was relaxing and tasty! We started off with some robust drinks and apps! Ahi Napolean was the highlight with the BBQ/Spicy prawns coming in a close second. My wife had the Rack of Lamb which she enjoyed and I got to sneak a couple of bites...tender tasty. My friend's son had the Grilled Ribeye which was massive and oozing with juice. The Finale! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and she did a great job walking us through the day's specials as well as some of her favorite picks. I started with the In Crowd cocktail and really enjoyed it. The coconut, basil, and bitters balanced beautifully with the gin, making for a super refreshing drink that felt especially perfect for spring or summer weather. We followed our server's advice and ordered four items, two larger plates and two starters, and everything was delicious. Here's the breakdown: Trout Dip: Fantastic smoky, fishy flavor in all the right ways, served with crostinis. The only small nitpick was that the crostinis were overdone for my taste and shattered loudly when bitten into. Grilled Prawns: Super meaty and seasoned and sauced perfectly, with a bed of slaw that balanced the dish nicely. Scallops: Seared to perfection and in an addicting red Thai curry sauce. I was intrigued by the combo of kimchi, grits, and curry and have to say that it somehow blends amazingly well. Lamb Chops: Cooked to a perfect medium rare, expertly seasoned, with little gaminess and a cooling yogurt sauce that really brought the dish together. All in all, it was a fantastic meal and easy to see why this place is such a favorite among both locals and tourists. The food, the drinks, and the service all come together to make this a great option for any occasion from a casual night out (us) to celebrating something memorable like a graduation (several were happening while we were there).
