    They sell acrylic markers here?!

I love how this place sells things Native American. Truly wonderful to look at. This place also sells some real crystals-the same ones Native Americans have seen and used before the Europeans arrived to the Americas.

First time seeing fully metal seed beads!

With speciality stores becoming increasingly rare, Matoska is a real delight. I typically stick to the antiques store side of Old Towne Orange, but wandered the direction of the boutiques during my most recent visit. Toward the front of the store, you'll find ready made textiles, sage bundles, and crystals, but head to the back and more treasures await! From tiny 13/0 seed beads to larger pony beds, you will find supplies in all colors and materials. The vintage seed beads (11/0) are only $5 per bag and I wanted to walk home with every one of them! I was excited to see traditional bead looms - similar to the one I use for my own projects - available and at a comparable price to those you might find from online retailers (e.g. about $45 for the heavier duty wooden loom). The associate was cordial and kept busy with the many customers exploring the store. I highly recommend supporting Matoska and other supply stores like it; there's something magical about being able to see and touch the materials you'll be working with!

Searching for beads today Wednesday and my go-to's were closed. So I ended up in Matoska today and felt the Native spirits in the ambulance. Great selection of blankets Pendletons hats beads crystals and so much more. I got excellent service from both ladies behind the counter and Ju Ju was great very knowledgeable with bead crafting . I was very pleased with the customer service and reasonable pricing of goods. Walked out with hemp string and a necklace of assorted beads. A colorful variety of beads including semi precious are on hand.

Matoska trading was a great experience. The had everything I needed to complete my regalia for a up coming pow wow. This location was very convenient and the staff was very knowledgeable of the product that they carry . They were very polite with great customer service. I will consider this my local training post and see them again soon.

I walked in here with my friend, thinking that we would just look at some crystals, but the store is just way more than that. It's a piece of history the owner Brent was so sweet and really took the time to show us around and enlightened us with a lot of cool facts about the history here in California.. would definitely recommend. I ended up leaving with some sage and lavender smells amazing. Can't wait to use it.

Beautiful specimens that I bought at Matoska

Had a great experience shopping there. They have a great selection of minerals and crystals and the prices aren't too bad. The service I got from Chi was above and beyond what a sales associate would normally offer. He was very knowledgeable and attentive to my many questions. Definitely recommend stopping by and checking out all of their merchandise!

What a cool store in Orange! At Matoska they sell American Native merchandise and they have the best selection I have seen in California. The store is big, nicely decorated and it is fun to browse. They have a bit of everything: books, coasters, jewelry, crystals, dried herbs, rugs, clothes to more funky items: turtle shells, rabbit fur and so on. You can find a cool gift here, prices are reasonable, the layout is great, good cusomer service, nice smells, chill vibe. It is closed on Sundays! Great find in downtown Orange, a very unique store!

    Love this!

My boyfriend took me into this small shop at the orange circle. Let me tell you, I thought it was a cute store, until I found all the otter stuff. At that point I fell in love ! I love otters. I had to get the otter puppet, as I've never seen one before. They also had an otter pellet which sparked my interest! The customer service was on point! I will be back!

This place has a great variety of crystals, sage and Native American merchandise. It was fairly priced and the staff was super nice and informative. She went out of her way to explain the functions and healings of each crystals and showed me different options that were affordable. I love picking through the little boxes for the tiny crystals. There are some just starting at 3 dollars! Such a steal. I bought myself a citrine and orange calcite piece for my bedroom and super happy with them!

I came in on the 26th of June and was greeted by the calming energy of this authentic Native American shop. I drove a bit of a ways, because I wanted to find some good white sage and amethyst to smudge my new home and bring in some good energy. The shopkeeper offered to help me out, so I let her know what I was considering. She was so well informed and even recommended a few other items that I might help my intentions. She really seemed to care, and that made my experience so much better. Great experience and I've already been back again. Just make sure to call before you go! They're not always open for their posted hours.

Today, neither happened, but it was still not a pleasant experience. As I walked in, I asked an employee if they had a restroom and for the location. When she answered, she hesitated and pointed to the back right corner, "back, right corner". Okay, cool, I headed straight back there and there was a sign "currently closed", for both men's and women's (I totally would lock the door in the men's just to pee if it was open). I did come in to buy a few things, so I grabbed what I needed and as I head to the check out, an "older" (probably 50's) male employee was walking sideways and backward toward me. I stopped walking, as we were going to collide. I said, "hi, excuse me" as he got within a couple inches of bumping me. He didn't apologize or anything, just kept on doing whatever task he was doing with nothing in his hands nor a cart with merch to put back... idk, maybe I'm just a b*+c#?? Theeennnnnn, the girl who completely stumbled when telling me where the restrooms were, was also the cashier at the moment of my checking out. I gently told her the restrooms were both closed and she replied with, "yea, ok, but I told you where they were." Yea, you did. I won't fault you there, missy. Then, I said, "I asked where it was because I need to use it", with a reply of "oh, sorry ‍". Always a good story about the decency and helpfulness of your employees, Michaels. Thanks!! At least I have someone nee in my day to shake my head at.... oh, P.S. pricing is blah here, being more on the higher side for cheap products. Good thing I only came in for stickers and construction paper.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I would like to make a formal complaint regarding my curbside pickup experience at the Michaels store located on Katella Avenue in Orange, California. On Friday, June 19, at approximately 1:45 PM, I arrived to pick up a curbside order that had been marked as fulfilled earlier in the week. My confirmation and reminder emails indicated that four items were included in my order. However, when my order was brought out to my vehicle, I received only three of the four items. I attempted to contact the store by phone three separate times but was unable to reach anyone. Eventually, I called the Framing Department and spoke with Marianne. I explained that my curbside order was incomplete and that I had been unable to reach anyone for assistance. Marianne was very kind, came out promptly, and genuinely tried to help resolve the situation. She took one of my items back inside to investigate the issue and attempt to complete the order. Shortly afterward, Jesse came out to my vehicle and informed me that the store did not have enough inventory to fulfill the missing item. I explained that I had never received any email notification, cancellation notice, or refund indicating that part of my order could not be fulfilled. In fact, I had received reminder emails instructing me to pick up my order, and those emails continued to show all four items as fulfilled. Unfortunately, Jesse's response was rude, dismissive, and argumentative. Rather than acknowledging the confusion or apologizing for the inconvenience, Jesse continued to argue the point and took no accountability for the situation. As our conversation ended, she walked away shaking her head, clearly frustrated with me. I found this behavior unprofessional and disappointing. It was evident that either a system error occurred or the order was not properly updated to notify me that one of the items was unavailable. Regardless of the cause, customers should be informed when an order cannot be fully fulfilled, especially when the order status and pickup reminders indicate otherwise. As someone who had worked in restaurant and customer service industries for more than seven years and has operated a business for the last ten years, I understand the challenges that come with staffing shortages and high-pressure situations. However, those circumstances do not excuse discourteous treatment of customers. While I understand the store may have been short-staffed, there is no reason for an employee to speak to a customer in such an unkind and confrontational manner. I live in Anaheim and specifically traveled to this location because it had the items I needed. I chose curbside pickup because I had a sleeping baby in the car. Had that not been the case, I would have gone inside to address the issue directly. I am truly disappointed by the level of customer service I experienced at this Michaels location. I hope Michaels will review this incident and provide additional coaching and training regarding customer interactions, particularly during stressful situations when employees may be feeling overwhelmed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

The workshop was well received by all my colleagues (~50 people). In addition, Melissa executed this workshop among a few different locations, making the effort to get our other offices all the materials in advance. I would highly recommend Melissa in any corporate event. Melissa and I had a few calls and traded a number of emails about this event. While she was responsive to my questions, she was also able to run with the event without much guidance. The day of the event, Melissa arrived on time (early) to set up, taking care to protect the tables with disposable tablecloths. She set out all the materials (including decorative rocks and pretty colored moss) and guided participants through the workshop. She was happy to answer any questions. Afterwards, she cleaned up quickly and thoroughly. My colleagues thought the event was relaxing; it was a nice team building and we created something pretty for our office. It can be stressful working with Type A people (me) and in company events, and I was blown away by Melissa's dedication. We would be happy to work with Melissa again.

This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

They couldn't find it under either. Jennifer, the owner messaged me on the side and offered studio credit for when we come back to glaze. I appreciate that offer since my bf and I had to and have to coordinate this date to come to the studio. I live around half an hour away and he lives over an hour away, which made it that much more disappointing when we drove all the ways last time only to be told it was lost. I messaged and asked to see if it was possible to have our pottery ready this time for when we came to glaze to prevent further mishap. They were kind and had our pottery ready for when we head back. I was happy with how our pottery turned out. It was with the red clay so it looked tan. Ashley helped us with the glazing. She gave us tips and instructions. They have a ton of different colors. They have a color section that's easier to work well and good with designs. There's also another set of colors that have some details and undertones. I picked four colors and hoped for the best. It's interesting because the more special glaze are all shades of gray, even when you paint it on. It's really is trusting the process. They put our pottery on the rack and told us it would be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping the pick up this time goes better! This glazing experience went well and I appreciate, Jennifer, the owner, reaching out personally and offering the studio credit.
