Great small market/deli. the most authentic russian food I have been able to find in South Florida so far. The prepared foods were excellent - fresh and tasty- especially the baby octopus salad. It is authentic home stye Russian food -- not Russian "style" -- so it may not appeal to all palates. The grocery items provided a great variety of cured meats, dairy, and dry goods. Everything was clean, affordable, and well presented. The buying of the food and navigating the food items we did not know was a little difficult, as the staff in the food prep areas spoke limited English and my Russian is non existent :) -- But they were extermely polite and made every attempt to be helpful. All in all we had a fun time trying some new foods that were rather tasty. My husband has already said that it is a definite "add to the list" place for stopping when in the area. read more

There is a smoked fish counter I missed it! They have Pistachio nuts almost as good as Zaloom 5 stars which are illegal in this country! Also they bake their own bread which are reason alone to go! Pistachios have gone way down hill ...when they opened must have been private stash! read more

I love this place! I'm not Russian but I always come here when I'm in this area, their chocolates are the best gifts bc they are beautifully decorated boxes, super yummy and cheap! Oh yeah and exotic with all those Russian letters lol! They have this one Russian milk they sell that in a glass bottle with a cow on the label "moloko" omg tastes like condensed milk! So sweet (yes I have a sweet tooth!) there is the tartar sweet I can only find there too it's called "chak-chak" kinda taste like baklava. The customer service was fantastic. Every employee who saw me greeted me and asked me for assistance. Even the cashier who had a difficult time with a word in english was trying to help me. Little do they know, I do speak Russian ( dont look the part) but when I usually go to these Russian stores I usually get these nasty stares which make me feel uncomfortable and I usually dont go back :( The products were fresh and the price was very very very reasonable. I bought the soup and it was DELICIOUS!!! I will definitely go back there to shop and eat. The best part of the whole experience- I love the traditional Russian dress apparel. One must understand the desire to eat Russian food. If you do not have a taste for it then maybe this place is not where you should eat. Improvements have been constant and right now is doing great with good food. I love the selection of packaged food from Russia. The stores next to also have outside seating so at times it does get crowded, a testimony to the nice location and popularity. My 7th time eating dinner here and I am never disappointed. The best dessert is the packaged Ukrainian cakes in the back cooler, I only remember finding them in Brooklyn but now they are here, the problem is if you buy one you will eat all of it!!! One note is that is is busy later on in the evening for it is cooler. Once again, it you are looking for good Russian/Ukrainian food then this is a very good place. Great food and great value!! Chicken meatballs, beef stew and beef stroganoff were all very well prepared. It is a buffet so, your food will tend to get cold as you wait to pay at the cash register. Omg! Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood with an excellent choice of all Russian favorites. I couldn't decide what I get and really wanted to get one of each, but didn't think my stomach could handle it. I ended up settling for (they had 3 different kinds), , , . Everything single item was on point. It had excellent home made flavor! It was just superb. The store was clean and surprisingly employees were nice. I went back and got a dessert - . I used to buy different products including caviar at this store since it was open a few years ago. From time to time I have discovered white patches on the top of caviar (after I opened glass container). I used to discard them. White patches are indication of bacterial growth. Finally, I decided to bring one back to the store. Manager, in order to show to me that they do not sell spoiled products, opened a few containers with caviar and then closed them and placed them back on the shelve. This was for me an indication how bacteria got into sealed glass container. By opening factory sealed container and closing it, vacuum, which is preventing bacteria to grow, was replaced with room air containing all kinds of bacteria which start to grow almost immediately. Apparently, it is a practice of this store to open and close previously sealed containers. Eventually, someone will buy these contaminated containers, as I did. Manager refused to replace spoiled container with caviar and when I told him that I would complaint to Department of Health, he told me go ahead, so I did. I would never buy anything from this store. read more

Great place for a quick stoop to find some imported eastern European produce/products. They have an amazing open buffet which serves a large variety of all sorts of food, fresh, hot/cold and delicious pastries. They have a small deli in the back with a great meet/cheese selection and delicious cakes in the front. They had my favorite desert, oreshki (nuts),(cookie type sweet dough on the outside, cracked in half with a condensed milk paste inside). Let's just say that after I left, they "sold out" of them. The staff was proper and respectful not as the typical "Russianized" service you would find in other small deli's/grocery shops. They were all they helpful when I Wes looking for particular products. They also have a much larger selection then I have seen before in smaller cities like Charlotte and Seattle. My friends took me there for lunch and I loved it so much I went back a few days later and packed on a ton of stuff for my road trip back home. There are two other shops in the same parking lot - shopping strip - that also carry European goods. One with dry / canned goods and the other with souvenirs suck as Matryoshkas(nesting dolls), Russian books and more... So when I could not find something there, they were nice to let me know about the two other shops that I visited and sure enough bought some Matryoshki gifts for my loved ones. Can't wait to go visit again and have lunch there. Felt like I was 5-10 years old again eating in my mother's kitchen but with dozens of more options! read more

One of my favorite places to hang out, I go there to have some tea or maybe to have lunch there with my friends, very nice place, especially outside. We love coming here. We literally will drive here from the Orlando area just to eat here. My kids beg to visit Matryoshka. We have taken Russian visitors here and they loved it, too. No great atmosphere, but it appears clean and it's quick and authentic. Wish there was something like this closer to us. Very good food. I have never had russian food before so my wife and I really enjoyed coming back to this place. If this is homecooked russian food, russians have excellent taste. The price per pound of food is quite interesting (and savory) and despite 4 meals here, we never got sick. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area. read more

I come here to get some authentic Russian food. They have a lot of stuff as well as buffet with ready to eat dishes. Usually everything is good and fresh. The only thing I don't like is how tight it is there, only maybe 3-4 feet between aisles, and when they restock the shelfs they put boxes with things in the middle so it's really hard to walk through especially if you have your kid with you in a stroller. Usually pretty busy there so lines can be long sometimes. They have tables outside so you can eat right there if you wish. I definitely recommend this place, great variety. read more

This place is crap. I know someone who used to work with the owner and they buy expired and the cheapest ingredients and food they can find, and resell it for more. I know many people who have gotten poisoning from this place including myself. If you want to save urself from a night of painful stomach ache dont buy ANY cooked food here and always read expiration dates on labels to make certain its not expired, and return everything that is. First time visiting this market/deli. Lots of Russian patrons around so it seems like a locals place..lots of Russian groceries but i am here to sample the hot food section..roughly twenty hot food items and twenty cold food items ( various salads, smoked fish, pickled veg, stuffed grape leaves)...everything was 6.99/# or 5.99/# after 8 p.m...tried some beef and pepper stew over some cracked wheat and very fresh halibut with a lemony dill mushroom sauce(not sure if that was what i was supposed to do as sauces are separate from the mains but it seemed natural). Also had some potato dumplings with butter and caramelized onions and sour cream, lamb dumplings, and pickled mushrooms. All were very tasty and fresh..they also had 2 or 3 soups to choose from..they also have an assortment of pastries that you can purchase by weight. Counter help was friendly.
