Made reservations ahead of time, had to fill out a form and chose our tastings, food and where we wanted to sit ahead of time. We included that we were celebrating our two year wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we were greeted and given congratulations on our celebration. Everyone was so nice. We picked a spot near the garden area. As we had chosen our tastings beforehand we didn't have to wait long. Plus complimentary sparkling wine for our anniversary. We also got one of the mixed boards for food. It was a lot for two people but we hadn't had much to eat so it worked out well. The whole experience was very nice, and the outside area was nicely done. Only downside, no indoor bathroom, just the porta bathrooms. Otherwise it was a great experience and I would certainly come back.

Great spot with a very knowledgeable host. She talked about the winery and their wines in detail. Relaxed and had a great flight of reds and whites. I especially liked the reserve Chardonnay, Rose and the 2014 red. Delicious!

Nice winery in Long Island. Each part of the winery has its own character, and they have different seating arrangements for groups of 4-8. The wines & charcuterie boards are on the pricey side. We got the White wine tasting menu. It was 38$ and we got to taste 9 different wines. They were all quite good. The service was Aok. The negatives were the porta potty situation and the cash only tips. They should get real bathrooms and not many people have cash with them. Overall it was a good experience.

Back to gush about Mattebella. My absolute favorite vineyard! Everyone who works here is always so nice and the service is amazing!! I love the vibe, lots of greenery, and absolutely beautiful tables and gazebos. I love that they have so many options for drinks, the sangria is my favorite! The first time I came here, the owner I believe, told me how to make it and it's literally the only drink I know how to make now. I went for a nonalcoholic sparkly pink lemonade this time and it was Delicious! I have friends of varying faiths who just want to come experience a vineyard without drinking wine so I love that they have some nonalcoholic options. I brought home their sparkling rose, which is perfect for making their signature sangria! Another absolute star here are the charcuterie boards!! They are the best I've ever tried at a vineyard, so YUMMY! I can't even explain how good it is, you just have to experience it yourself, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this vineyard. I usually end up staying here for hours and forget to vineyard hop, that's how much I love it here.

Don't even read my review just get in the car and go experience this place for yourself. I don't expect to like every wine when going out there but in my tasting I enjoyed all of them. I always do a tasting but my wife is more the wine drinker and I'm the beer guy but they had some wine cocktails so I thought I'd branch out a bit and give one a try and boy was I wasn't sorry I did. I'd take that lemon wine cocktail over any mixed alcohol drink out there. The seating is quirky in a good way. It's spread out everywhere in a different places and different kinds of eggshell swings, couches and standard table and chairs. They have a few decent sized enclosures you can reserve if you're going with a group and even an igloo if you're there on a chilly/rainy day. Now the service was great. Waitress was very attentive. It was a day it was supposed to rain and then didn't so it was one woman at first doing her best but once some help arrived everything seemed to move flawlessly. What was better then the wine and the cocktail in my opinion was that shredded duck in the pot pictured below. It was amazing. I could see myself getting in the car and driving there from Smithtown just to sit down with my lemon cocktail and eating that whole pot for lunch. This is definitely a new regular stop for us when we're out there!

If you love the idea of "out east" and wine then you came to the right place. Even if you would rather a "cocktail" more than wine then you also arrived at the right place. The wine is great and they make many different, delicious, wine based cocktails that make you forget it's wine. Food is artisanal with everything from duck to boar. Sounds crazy....I get it. But you'll enjoy it. Beautiful sitting areas combined with amazing service from the manager, Maryann. Walk the grounds. Have a few cocktails. Enjoy the food. But plan to stay bc it's a wonderful day out.

It's amazing that after making reservations and spending close to 2k our party received the worst spot on 22 acres of land. I chose this vineyard for its private location further down from the strip of farms and vineyards to avoid crowds with all the COVID guidelines. We were told there would be fire pits, the weather was cold and while we dressed accordingly we couldn't compete the temperature and being sat in the shade next to the parking lot and shed didn't help. When I asked about the fire pits they informed us they simply did not have them out yet . We weren't advised that with the new covid guidelines our food couldn't be served with plates and utensils. The seating was awkward and took away from the experience you're also using a porta potty. I will say the porta potties were clean, scented and a hand washing station was readily available. Key notes: The hosts and owner were lovely the boards were delicious but I would NOT return for the wine or location. Our flights were were served at different times where we couldn't enjoy our tastings together, it seemed counterproductive to order your flights ahead of time as the staff seemed to be scrambling last minute when we arrived. I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU REQUEST SEATING OR INQUIRE ABOUT WHERE YOU'LL BE SAT.

Friendly service and very comfortable scenery. Wines are mediocre and expensive. The cheese platters were excellent but as expected pricey to say the least. All in all, a nice experience.

I have been going to the north folk for many years. This is my favorite winery by far. Beautiful setting. Great wine. Great service. Been here twice and I never felt uncomfortable even though I was there for three hours relaxing and drinking some fine wine. Best charcuterie board. Get the 2015 old world red. A bit pricey. But actually worth it

The charcuterie and cheese plates are stunning here!! Especially the charcuterie included wagyu beef, roasted duck, and wild boar which were all really interesting. The included jams/dips were also really good. I got the white wine flight to share with friends which came with 9 wines. Our favorite was the one with pineapple notes! I had made the reservation online for gazebo seating on a Sunday afternoon. We got there like 5 minutes before the reserved time and saw both gazebo areas were taken. Kind of seemed like a mistake on their part that they didn't really address... (otherwise this would be 4 stars). The service was nice but a bit slow at times.

If you're looking for an eclectic intimate yet exciting winery, this is the place to go! MaryAnn who is so hospitable and caring. The charcuterie is personable, authentic, and the wine is top notch. Even on a dreary, rainy day, this place will bring your spirits up!

An Awesome find. Thank you Yelpers! We took a ride out East to Mattebella Vineyards which was an amazing 1st visit. It is different than other vineyards. The parking lot is smaller than usual. It is by appointment & they're doing the best that they could to enforce the Covid safety. We ordered a bottle of there best red wines Old World Blend 2013. It was a perfect blends of wine with smooth taste. I would Highly recommend it! We ordered an Italian Platter which was one of the best that I've ever had in a vineyard. The Burrata was delicious & Parmigiano Cheese was so fresh, as well as the Olives & fig. The Bread was also so fresh. We had a relaxing & wonderful afternoon. I was impressed by the portable bathrooms they were extremely clean with a scented candle inside. Water soap & sanitizer located right outside. The only thing I would recommend is plastic plates & utensils for food verse the napkins. What's nice is also have a indoor igloo bubble for the cold weather approaching. We will definitely be back.

They had a wine list and Carlos' name on the sheet from our reservation. A+ service.

We had an amazing experience at Mattebella. We had John as our experience leader through the process. At first I booked via email at the time I wanted on the day I wanted to ensure we were taken care of. That process was a bit antiquated (print PDF, fill out and scan back to return), but I went with it. It was all confirmed in a few days and we were set. Arrival - it seemed busy but we were on a list and whisked away to our table immediately. My, what a table we had. The decor made us feel like we were at a wedding! The table didn't look like another tasting came before (even though it was 2:30 PM and there was), and it backed to the vineyards and away from everyone else. It was my partners birthday so there was a print out of his name and the wine's wed be trying - it was so organized and prepared, again it felt like a wedding! John was incredibly knowledgeable on the winery, each of the wines and grapes, and the flavors. He truly made it an unforgettable experience. We tried some with and some without foods just to bring out the flavors, he made it like a really fun game that was educational and a party for your tastebuds. The temperature in late September was perfect, we had a tent to shield from the sun but it was sunny and beautiful so we could still enjoy it. Bathrooms - they are port-o-potties, but they are the nicest ones you've ever tried! This was the one negative part in reviews, but it had a hand wash station and they were clean so it's really not anything to complain about. The grounds were well kept, some people had dogs, the music was perfect and overall it was just our favorite winery. Can't thank John and the winery enough. We will be back!

My wife spotted this rustic looking facility, so I turned in and immediately got a good feeling about it. The owner greeted us and made us feel entirely welcome. We sat down and looked at the tasting choices and had a fairly easy time filling up our dance card with 5 selections. We had the place to ourselves at first, and spent time getting to know Perry, a woman whose family has owned the operation since 1974. She said most of the buildings date back from the mid 1859s. Entertainment was also provided by 20 chickens (17 hens and 3 roosters). The wines were wonderful and lovingly explained by Perry. We left with a red and a white, and a feeling that this had been a very special hour.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful when it came to explaining the wines and guiding tastings. They were attentive when needed but also gave plenty of space, which added to the laid back vibe. The wine was pretty good overall. There was a nice variety available, and while not every wine stood out, several were enjoyable and well balanced. The quality matched the relaxed setting and made for a pleasant tasting. It is the kind of wine you can easily enjoy while sitting outside and taking in the scenery. Overall Old Field Vineyard offers good service, great ambience, and pretty good wine in a lovely setting. It may not be the most standout vineyard on the North Fork, but it is absolutely worth a visit if you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable wine tasting experience. A strong four star destination.

It's a shame because the grounds are beautiful, the staff that sat and served were very friendly. I was really looking forward to this visit. In email I was sent the menu, reservation policy, and a form to fill out with the option to pre order the mixed flight ($30 per person) or antipasto ahead of time. I had confirmed in written email that I had a group of 8 and I filled out the form for "number of guests at $30 per person" as 1. Everyone else in my group planned to order from the regular menu and do a couple of bottles for the table. When I arrived it was very disorganized and understaffed, with a big wait time to be seated and served. We were sitting for maybe a half hour before someone addressed us. When they did, they came out with 8 sets of the mixed flights! I said that I filled it out for 1 and that everyone else was ordering from the menu. So she went back to check with the manager, Julie. Before Julie even spoke I could feel a combative energy when approaching me. She said she "assumed" the 1 that I put for the mixed flight was "a typo" and couldn't respond to me as to why she didn't communicate the confusion. She said the group number applies to the number of flights. She said she can't just have everyone else "sitting around" and I assured her that everyone was getting something from the regular menu. She said that she never had a problem before and asked me if I even read the information that was sent to me. So basically if you do a group reservation, everyone is forced to do the mixed flight. Even if someone else wants the red flight which is not an option to pre order. She said we would need to order the mixed flights first to be able to order a bottle from the regular menu. No where did it say any of this ANYWHERE on this information sheet. I did in fact read it multiple times and had my group read it before making reservations. After going back and forth with me, she then says "you know what, do whatever you want to do so you can have a good day" very passive aggressively as if I offended her and walks away. Her tone was extremely condescending. My whole group was in shock and very uncomfortable. At this point we had been here for an hour and we were deciding what to do from here. The waitress came back and asked what we wanted to do and I said I wasn't sure because I am uncomfortable with how I was spoken to. She was very sweet and was understanding. She told us whatever we wanted to do if we wanted to stay, we can let her know what we want, which put us more at ease. I asked her for a couple of minutes and she said no problem just to grab her since she's all around. We couldn't find her after that and decided to leave. As a customer, I am appalled by the behavior of the manager. This was not professional or appropriate conduct. I feel for the staff who seem to be doing their best with the given situation.

Since we were a group of 7 and the offer only comes in a package for 2 or for 4, we bought two Groupons for the Wine Tasting Experience for four persons. The Wine Tasting Experience included a Boar's Head platter featuring uncured Genoa salami and mozzarella, and Wheat Thins crackers to share, wineglasses for each person to take home, and 5 wine tastings per person. When we arrived at Osprey's Dominion Vineyards, there were plenty of parking spots and we checked in at the Tasting Room. The staff member provided us with 8 wine tasting placemats so we could indicate which wine tastings we would like and briefly explained the different types of wine. We could choose from the red, white, reserve, and the dessert wine list. I chose mostly whites and 2 rosés. My favorite was the Semi-Dry Riesling, though the Gewurztraminer was a close second. There are plenty of tables in the Tasting Room with large windows and even more tables outside. Outside, there are some tables on the patio and even more tables on the great lawn with barbecue pits. Osprey's Dominion Vineyards allows guests to bring their own picnic lunches, which is wonderful. We had prepared some charcuterie, fruit, chips, and sandwiches. After we finished our wine tastings, I purchased a bottle of Semi-Dry Riesling 2018 and Malbec 2019 for us to share. Since we were Groupon customers, we received a 20% discount on the wine-bottle purchase. There is an even a 30% discount on a purchase of three bottles or more. My family took advantage the case offer for $119. Osprey's Dominion Vineyards was not busy on July 4th and we all had a great time at the vineyards. It was a beautiful day with not a single cloud in the sky. Staff were very friendly and carried out the case to our car. The Boar's Head platter was a little small for 2 people to share, so it was great that we could bring outside food. Osprey's Dominion Vineyards is very spacious with plenty of tables so it is great for big groups.

We were only there for about an hour, but it was easy to see why it's such a popular stop. The setting is exactly what you're hoping for at a North Fork winery--plenty of outdoor space, beautiful vineyard views, and a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a summer afternoon with friends. We shared one of the giant pretzels along with the stuffed grape leaves, both of which disappeared quickly. We also tried the wine frosés, which were cold, refreshing, and perfect for a hot day. They were a bit on the sweet side, though. One was just about right for me; I think a second would have been a little too much. The only reason I'm stopping at four stars instead of five is the staffing. We visited on a busy Saturday, and while everyone working was friendly and working hard, there simply weren't enough people to keep up with the crowd. That's on management, not the staff, who did a great job under the circumstances. One funny discovery: there was a local seafood truck from Bauman's parked on-site, but we didn't notice it until after we'd already polished off the pretzels and grape leaves. Next time. If you're exploring the North Fork wine trail with friends, Corey Creek is a fun stop and one I'd happily visit again. Just don't be surprised if service is a little slower during peak weekend hours.
