Very caring staff. As I'm getting older I can really see the benefit of have a Urogynocologist instead of just a Gynecologist as I am past having children. Problems can be closely aligned in that area of the body and I'd rather just see one Dr for all the female issues. This office really feels more like the "old time" Drs office where people know you and really care. Not just pushing you through like many medical offices do. They listen to you, and then treat you like an individual, and think about the problems you are having and how to help you with testing or treatment. I could tell that PA Carrie, who was very understanding, was really thinking about how to help me resolve my issues. Sometimes it's hard to talk about female issues, but in this office they make you feel completely comfortable and you won't feel nervous about opening up about your personal female issues whether urinary or problems your female workings. I was referred to Dr. Matthew Clark nearly 19 years ago after another surgeon made a mistake during a bladder sling procedure. I was told I needed "the best"--and that's exactly who I found. He handled a very complex repair, and thanks to his skill, it was a complete success. He gave me back something most people take for granted--the ability to fully empty my bladder. Life-changing. I agree with other reviewers, this practice is nothing but a money machine for Dr. Clark. My best friend, who is 82, has been going here for many months because of constant UTIs, and significant leakage. She's only met Dr. Clark once, for approximately 15 minutes for the initial visit several months ago, and then a few weeks ago, when he apparently performed a cystoscopy. I'm not even sure that's what he did because the information that she was to show up at the hospital for a procedure was given to her by one of his "girls," without many details. (My friend is very trusting and doesn't always get the details or forgets some of them, so I've tried to get as much information as I can and help her through this.) Dr. Clark came in to see her in the hospital shortly before the procedure for less than 5 minutes, then she never saw him again...as usual. Actual professional, caring physicians/surgeons see you prior to your procedure to go over the details, then again in the recovery room to tell you what they found. He didn't...of course. Because he's too busy running off to his next high paying procedure or surgery. Their treatment so far has consisted of putting my friend on a variety of different antibiotics, and when those didn't work, having her come in once a week to have gentamicin injected into her bladder and now they have her taking a new antibiotic daily indefinitely. And she always is treated by one of the many "girls" in the office, many of whom are new, and never Dr. Clark. I guess Dr. Clark and his "girls" have never heard of antibiotic resistance, or if they have, they don't care if my friend experiences this. Unconscionable. Also, several times she's gone in for a visit about her UTIs and they do a urinalysis in the office and tell her it's positive and start her on antibiotics. But they also send the urinalysis to a lab to identify the specific bacteria in her urine, and the lab comes back and says Oh No, you don't have an infection. WHAT? So she's on antibiotics briefly, then she's off, which is one of the main causes of antibiotic resistance. The reverse also has happened. She was told she didn't have a UTI when the in-office urinalysis was done, but when they sent it to the lab, she was told she did have one! So back on antibiotics and always a new one! How can these two results be off? My guess is the office staff/girls don't know how to do an accurate urinalysis. So guess who is suffering the consequences? My dear friend. And if she does have a UTI but it doesn't seem to be working, they take her off that one and put her on another, basically guessing if it's the right one. Again, no concern for the impact on her health and risk of antibiotic resistance. There are so many horrible things these people have done to her: -The PA called and told her she had a UTI and must take a new antibiotic asap, and a prescription would be called in to her pharmacy. It wasn't. -Several times my friend feels she has a UTI on a Friday and calls the office to see what she should do. Guess what, they don't call back until Monday. -No one told her what to expect after her recent procedure so she had to call the office to find out what she might experience. She's asked a few times to speak with Dr. Clark, but instead they have her see another "girl" (don't know what credentials any of them have, except for an NP or PA who seems to be running the practice in Dr. Clark's constant absence) At her last visit she asked what was found during her procedure, and the "girl" examining her told her she didn't have my friend's files there. IN THE OFFICE? If you don't have her medical records at the doctor's office, where are they?????? You can't look it up???? I've begged, pleaded and argued with my friend to insist on seeing the doctor, so this week she told them she wanted an appointment with him. The young girl who was "examining" her asked another "girl", who said No. She didn't need to see him, she could see another "girl!" Unbelievable. I worked in health care for 15 years and know this is unconscionable, unacceptable behavior. I believe all of this will catch up to Dr. Clark, but I don't want my friend to suffer in the meantime. Do NOT put your faith in Dr. Clark because if he can't make a lot of money off your care, he'll hand you off to the "girls" actually running his practice and your health definitely will be at risk. read more

I honestly believe that this is a joke practice. Dr. Clark was a very nice man, don't get me wrong. I have to say the staff was also nice. But for quality of care and the amount of money I had to pay to see a doctor with no carryover, no follow-through; they don't call you back. Very very poor communication between Patient and care staff. Finally someone called me back after a week of a STAT order, And they called me after business hours so I couldn't call them which dies me no good. Don't call somebody after hours and expect them to wait until the next day. And in my case, it was a week before I spoke with somebody I have been waiting for over a week and no one called me to reply that oh by the way you do have a serious issue here and we probably should've addressed it. I ended up going to the emergency room and handling it myself. After I paid them an extra $500 to see the doctor quicker due to the pain I was in. I will never do that again. Do not trust them when they say that they are getting you seen faster!!!! just scamming you for extra money. If I could say, I don't recommend this office that would be an understatement. And again they appear to be nice people; acted really friendly when I was there, but to actually get somebody to listen to you and follow through with the with Care not gonna happen. All they want is the money. They didn't care about how I was feeling, what I was doing as I was crying, no one gave a care. Actions speak, louder than words. And you did not do any kind of action. I'm also still waiting to receive the referrals that they said they were going to email me the day we spoke . She actually spoke to me and that was last week. haven't heard from anyone on any referrals so I'll just make my own appointment with another doctor again having to make my own appointments having to do my own thing when it's supposed to be this fancy Concierge service that's a bunch of shit. Ladies Look No Further! I was diagnosed with bladder prolapse more than 15 years ago.It got to the point where I really needed to see a doctor, the prolapse had gotten REALLY SEVERE. I went to see Dr. Clark, I decided after going over all the options I would go ahead with robotic surgery. Something that really stood out about Dr. Clark was he actually cared .He made an appointment for my husband and I to go over everything before the surgery and ask questions. Long story short Dr.Clark is the best urogynecologist out there. It's been four weeks since I've had my surgery. I agree, I currently work in the medical field and visit doctors regularly. non of them make me keep a credit card on file. when I did leave it with this office I asked they notify me if they need to charge something. they did not. not only did they charge 2300.00 dollars for an initial office visit within a day of the explanation of Benefits they charged my credit card without my knowledge, on top of that i did call the office to dispute the bill, they referred me to the billing office that could not help me and said the office would call me back, (which they didn't) for the reasons above I will not be going back to this office. Dr Clark is very thorough and knowledgeable. He gives you all options for your specific situation. Since his specialty is a dual specialty there aren't many doctors with his expertise. It can be tricky getting in because of this fact, the office runs very efficiently. It's important when you end up at such a specific doctor not to have to worry about the details of insurance and their office explains that aspect as well. After surgery I went into the office driving 45 minutes to get there. I was told in order to see the doctor I had to sign a new form. Last year they wanted a credit card on file to charge you if didn't show up or cancelled a surgery before 14 days. No other doctor office ever asked me to give them a credit card to keep on file. This year it is even worse. I don't have debit cards or any of the other of the current cash bank cards they demanded. They consumer simply can't dispute any charge. They are free to charge anything they want. This time they said I had to pay 3% if I used my regular credit card. They don't take checks. Because I refused to sign this document the office manager wouldn't let me get any of the aftercare I needed. This was irrelevant as I had already met my $1000. out of pocket for this year. An appointment was made in the past for me by them without telling me. Fortunately, I received a text and was able to make the appointment. I would 100% recommend Dr. Clark! I am in my 20's and have quite the laundry list of my medical history. After much extensive research, I came to the decision to see Dr. Clark for some issues I was having. Within 5 minutes, he told me exactly what was going on-- I learned more in that first visit than all my other doctor visits elsewhere combined! He also found a few things that other doctors missed and misdiagnosed! In 2020, he performed a very rare and extensive robotic-assisted surgery on me and he did an outstanding job! It couldn't have gone any better! He personally called and checked up on me once I got home, post-op. I was back to doing my regular activities with my husband and kids shortly after my recovery. This office is so poorly run. Waited 90 minutes for my first appointment. Waited 70 minutes for my second. They failed to order the necessary items for my procedure. Had to leave and was told it would take 3 days to get items. It's been five weeks! I've left 4 messages and not one person has called me back. Finally spoke with someone this morning and was told they STILL haven't ordered the item. They told me to call my insurance and have someone else do the procedure. They could care less. This review is to address the care that I received from Matthew Clark, M.D., a board-certified OB/GYN and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive surgeon. I selected Dr. Clark and his team from a list of six other specialists in the geographic area. Dr. Clark's educational and professional background attest to his dedication, judgment, and expertise in the study and treatment of urogynecological issues. He and his team provided a thorough workup and addressed the alternatives as well as risks and benefits of surgery to address a significant prolapse and repeated antibiotic-resistant urinary tract issues. Dr. Clark provided clear and cogent recommendations and a definitive treatment plan during all phases. In all encounters, Dr. Clark and his staff treated me as a human being and they addressed me with dignity and respect during all phases leading up to, during and after operation. The transvaginal hysterectomy to address Stage IV prolapse was performed in December 2017, as planned, without pain issues, bleeding, or other complications, which attest to his treatment plan and surgical skills. I was referred to Dr. Clark's office by my primary physician for bladder issue. First off, it took a ridiculous amount of time to get an appointment with the actual doctor. I had to book an appointment a month in advance and when you have a bladder issue, this seemed like a lifetime. When I finally had my first appointment in August, I spent the majority of my time with the physician's assistant. When I finally waited 40 minutes for the actual doctor, he spent less than 10 minutes with me. In meeting with the dr, I felt like another number, rather than a person with a medical problem. His recommendation was that I see their in house physical therapist for my bladder issue. I thought this was odd as I had been experiencing bladder pain for several months and had blood show up in my urine. No ultrasound was ordered and I was simply told to follow up with the PA. So, I called on 9/22 to make an appointment with the PA. The appt was set for 9/30 at 8:30 am. However, when I showed up for the appt, the receptionist had no record of my appointment. The office manager came out and offered to squeeze me into their schedule. At that point though, I had already had enough of the staff at this office. I don't understand the high ratings for this doctor's office, as it's been one of the worst doctor experiences for me personally. read more

I LOVE Dr Clark!!! He changed my life. I have suffered with stress incontinence since having my three children, and I have allergies. So you can imagine my horror everytime I sneeze, cough or even laugh, I was always crossing my fingers and my legs hoping I wouldn't leak. Dr. Matthew Clark performed a needed surgery on me six months ago. I had seen other doctors for my condition and felt pressured to try a very expensive laser treatment that is not covered by insurance, and which would require expensive touch-ups. In sum, I couldn't afford the expensive laser treatments, nor the chance that they would not take care of my issue long term, and the inference that the results would only be temporary. On the recommendation of a good friend who had Dr. Clark do her surgery, I went to see him. Dr. Clark is kind, and extremely bright. His staff is amazingly knowledgeable and kind as well. I am 62 years of age and 6 months ago I had a robotic vaginal hysterectomy with sacrocolpopexy. Dr. Clark is not only empathetic and caring but a surgical wizard! His office staff makes it their job to make follow up appointments difficult or impossible so continuity of care is not good. I'm three months post op and I've had complications. In my opinion, Dr. Clark's practice is the best run office and most caring staff I have ever encountered. Dr. Clark is by far the best doctor I have ever had the privilege of working with. I had a fairly major hysterectomy due to uterine and bladder prolapses. I always felt he cared about my well-being as his patient throughout the fairly long recovery period. Their office also has a wonderful patient portal system where you can ask questions for many different issues. I don't think a day has gone by when I have sent a question about an issue to Dr. Clark or another staff member where the staff member or Dr. Clark didn't respond back to me that same day; even after being in surgery at the hospital for hours. He even called me on a Saturday to let me know the results of a test he ordered for me. Dr. Clark also has some very wonderful nurses and assistants who make you feel so comfortable during an office visit and have a gift for making you feel calm and cared for. Dr. Matthew Clark is the absolute best when it comes to urogynecology. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and has a systematic, multi-system approach to dealing with sensitive female issues. His entire staff is extremely helpful, caring, and professional. With my particular issues, it was a combo of physical therapy, medication and supplements to help correct them. I know at the time he took United Health PPO and Blue Shield PPO. It is extremely difficult to find competent doctors in Orange County, in my opinion. He is one of the best. read more

Dr. Clark performed two needed surgical procedures on me seven weeks ago. Prior to the surgeries, he answered all of my questions and thoroughly explained what he was going to do. He also outlined the recovery process and how best to care for myself during that time. I am thrilled with my results! My recovery was much easier than I thought it would be and I'm already back at the gym. I am 100 per cent satisfied with Dr. Clark and so grateful that he solved my incontinence problem. I had surgery 2 months ago, and yesterday for the first time I hiked up and down a mountain with zero incontinence. I used to have to wear a maxi pad to hike the same mountain. I am so very happy. I have already referred girlfriends to him, one of whom has already gone to him for a different problem that other doctors could not diagnose. Dr. Clark knew what it was right away and solved it.
