Online it states that mattresses are 80% off and that queens start at $125. When I went into the store, there were about 7-8 different mattresses but I knew which one I wanted based on color, the height and the pillow top. But, I came in with like $500 thinking I would pay that much but need maybe $200 more to pay later. And I asked the cost of the mattress I wanted. I was not given an answer but told to see how each mattress feels without giving me a price of each. The seller could have just told me the price and that should have been a red flag to me. But, I laid one each one to come to the conclusion that I wanted the mattress advertised online (black with pillow top). The rest didnt look good to me and most didn't feel comfortable. I assumed the one I wanted was $800-$1000 but with an 80% discount as mentioned on FB and in ads. But I was told it was $1300 for the mattress and box spring. The seller was vague about everything else and he literally scrolled through everything as I viewed the documents and he just showed me my weekly payments so I thought I was paying off $1300 for delivery and all. I get home and I thoroughly read my documents and it says I owe nearly $4000. I was ashamed of myself for taking a $1300 bed and box spring because I told him 80% off of this is $1300!? I thought I would pay $400-$600 for everything. He told me the mattress is over $1500 or more without the discount. And this guy was so vague about everything he did not tell me about the interest. He only told me everything was $1300. I could have gone to Rent a Center or Aarons for the price and interest. And payments would be less. I will never shop here again. And the mattress is big and looks good now but there are a lot of strings pulled or torn out of the top. I had same day delivery and the seller was like I can delivery it after we sign the documents. I should have left and brought a 14 inch mattress from Amazon for $500+ with free delivery. I went in thinking I would be given a higher price and I didnt like that prices werent listed above the beds. They can give you any price. And this is not a discount store. I could have paid $300-$1000 for a bed in full instead of having over $3500 debt. I want to return it but I will try to pay a lesser fee with the 90 day fee of like $1450. It felt like such a rip off but the is was before I realized I had to pay $3500+. If I could give 0 starts I would do that. I came to this establishment because I had previously bought a cheap matress here, about 9 years ago and was wondering if there were good quality matresses available. Came in, Nick remembered me and that was great. Together with my partner we checked out a few of the " better quality" matresses and after laying on a particular one ... we both decided this could be an option. We were told by Nick that this was "diamond" matress that sells for 2400 but he would sell it to us from 1200. Based on his word ...we bought the mattress. Got it home and the next few days we struggled with information given to us. We could not find a DIAMOND matress that looked like the one we purchsed- no DIAMOND tag was on the matress - we somewhat knew we got ripped off. Over the next few days we asked for supporting information from Nick- only to be ignored and brushed off- can't talk right now, driving, at the dentist... oh see you WEDNESDAY-come by the store- oh I can't see you that day, no power. He actually dropped by our new place and dropped off 2 brand new pillows- maybe thinking we would go away...? Eventually he gave us 2 more matress names and none came up in our Google searches or no tag with those names matched the tag we had. Finnaly he gave us a matress name - we found it online - looks exactly like the one he sold us for 1200 dollars - but it sold for under 600 dollars. ( he stated this is his manufacturer- they sold this matres on their site for under 600 on sale. We presented him with this information and let him know - we now have confirmation he ripped us off and want to give him the opportunity to fix the issue. He has not replied to our texts. Also since we have our guest bedroom needing a bed - we thought we can be happy if he gives us a full size matress of the same brand , no charge since he decided to lie to us and cheat us on the matress and and price...and keep the 1200. He never returned the texts or came up with a resolution for the issue. We have time to reverse the transactions with our bank - but wanted to give him the opportunity to fix the issue..I also didn't want to blast him - but obviously he doesn't care about ripping people off so my kindness wore off. Please don't believe a word he says and do your research when it comes to buying a matress from him. Very much like a car sales person- will fraudulently lie to make a sale. Very dissapointed. Nick is great to work with! I have bought two beds from him now and I will go back to him the next time I need a bed. Update: Once I took delivery of the second bed, after the chaos of moving, I noticed that what Nick told us was a Serta had a tag that said Five Star Mattress. I messaged him asking if that is the model name of the bed and he said that the bed is only manufactured by Serta, which means it is not actually a Serta. He wrote on my invoice that it is a Serta. I started researching and I couldn't find many good reviews for the Five Star Mattress brand. I asked Nick for the return policy a few weeks ago and he has not responded. I recently asked again because I originally decided to give it a chance but my boyfriend and I both wake up sore almost every morning now. We have only been sleeping on this bed for just over a month. The pillow top is already stretched out in the middle and bunches up when I move around at night. A couple days ago I messaged Nick asking again for the return policy. "Someone" else messaged me back and told me that Nick is out of the country. I asked when he will be back and for the return policy again and AGAIN I have had no response. I have found actual Serta mattresses for half the price of what I was charged for this off brand mattress. He showed me what was available and when the mattresses were more than I wanted to pay, he gave me an incredible discount. Not a very good experience with this company. Beware all sales are final. The old rule "Buyer Beware" applies to this business. Owner of this business was personable and a great salesman could sell shoes to a person with no legs. Personally the Wellsville mattress we purchased was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. We gave it a good 30days. Other may enjoy them we did not. During the sale at the store he stated if we didn't like the mattress we could exchange for another. The salesperson at this store was matter of fact on my first call to him about my uncomfortable sleep "doesn't have a return policy nothing he can do for us". After that call we bought another bed at a National Department store that provided better customer protection after the sale. On my second call to the salesman about the bad sleep he stated it was too late because we had already bought another mattress. I asked again is there nothing he was willing to do for us The answer was no. I said I was disappointed and that I will let everyone know about my experience with "Mattresses by Appointment" Remember if the price sounds to good to be true there is a reason. This one is on me for not being smarter by getting his sales pitch in writing or recording it on my phone and I'm old enough to know better. Thankfully I cancelled my order but had to fight the finance company for a refund because Nick wouldn't call them back, the same fiance company Nick recommended. Turns out in California if you use one of the stores fiance companies you have no protection from the seller. It took a month to get the finance company to refund my money. USE A CREDIT CARD FOR YOUR BEST PROTECTION. The negative reviews on Yelp are true. Oh and let's say you drop $2k on a bed and don't like it, guess what? You're stuck! I wasn't expecting such a small selection. Only enough room in the store for about 8 beds to lay out. The rest of the beds were up against the wall. Nick seemed like a nice enough guy and seemed willing to help me out in a crappy situation. I found a bed a liked but didn't love but he was offering me a really great price. As indecisive as I am I told him I'd like to think about it and I would get back to him later that evening. When I told him (over text like he told me to) I was going to go with something else he was very rude and said "I guarantee you'll come back to me in 2 years for a replacement. TERRIBLE Customer Service TERRIBLE Delivery Service BAD Business FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD My wife and I setup an appointment with Justin at their Elk Grove location about a month ago. We saw some beds we were interested in, and Justin advised us to try out thier financing program (90 day buyout, no interest). Sounded good so we signed up to purchase 1 king, 1 queen and 2 twin size bedsets. The total came out to about $2,000, so we put made a down payment of $650. Justin told us he would deliver the beds the next day. We left the store anticipating our new comfy beds. The next day comes around, 12 noon no call no show. We try to contact Justin, no answer. Finally a few hours later, he texts "Sorry, had to take my daughter to the ER she has asthma." I'm a parent myself, so I respond "No worries, take care of your family first. I appreciate it if you could keep me posted so I know what's going on." He replies, "I'll let you know if I can bring it later on today or tomorrow." Sure no problem. Not until 9:15 pm, he sends a text "I will have to do it tomorrow morning." Not being rude or angry, I respond "Sure, one of us will be home in the morning." Next morning comes, no call no show once again. On my way to work I contact Justin at noon, "What time are you delivering the beds?" He replies, "I'll be on my way in an hour." My wife calls me at 3 pm saying Justin just showed up by himself & he's asking for help to carry the beds. We live in an apartment complex on the 2nd floor, so he's complaining about the distance & stairs. *** I thought that was the job of a delivery service*** Justin gets frustrated taking the beds off his u-haul rental trailer connected to his mini-suv. As a result, our king size mattress falls flat in the middle of the street (blocking all traffic because he's double parked). And he just walks off with the twin mattress set on the dolly. My wife picks it up & sets it against a neighbors car port. When he returns, my wife tells him she doesn't want that bed because it fell in the street. He says, "No it didn't, it's standing straight up." Then she says, "Yeah, because I just picked it up". Justin tells her, "Oh well, it's too late I'm already here". The twin bedsets that he took up, he drops it off on our front porch & says "I don't deliver in your house or set it up." So now my wife gets really upset and calls his dad, Nick from the Rocklin store. Nick apologizes for Justin's actions but says we don't do refunds, you must go through your financing company. While my wife is on the phone, she gets a text from Justin stating "I left the rest of your beds neatly stacked in your car port". ***Remind you, we live in an apartment complex of 500 tenants.*** So my wife rushed down to check our car port and nothing is there. She calls Justin, and his phone is off. She calls his dad Nick, and he says "The beds are in your possession, now it's your responsibility. Stop harassing me or I'll call my lawyer". So now we get stuck with only 2 twin size bedsets and a bill of $1,300. We contact our financing company & they're still trying to contact both Nick and Justin. TYPICAL SALESMAN!! ***They are the used car salesmen everyone warns you about.*** I have pictures of the bed laying in the middle of the street & screenshots of all Justin's text messages. You better believe, a lawsuit is coming for his ass. They're lucky to get one because it's required, otherwise they'll have none. read more

On January 30, 2016, I paid in full for a mattress and box spring at Mattress by Appointment in Rocklin, CA. A week after paying for the mattress and box spring, I found a different mattress and a better deal that I wanted to get. I asked the store owner for a refund prior to picking up the mattress. The store owner verbally advised me of his store return policy when I asked for the refund. At the time of purchase, the store owner never verbally advised me of his store return policy. The return policy was not posted anywhere in his store. I did not sign a purchase agreement and was not made aware of the store return policy prior to and at the time of the transaction. I am currently in the process of taking the store owner to Small Claims Court in the attempt to recover my loss of funds. We searched the Internet for the best place and Mattress by appointment came up as the #1 Mattress store in Sacramento so we thought we would check it out. When we got there Nick and Justin were ready for us. I loved that we were the only ones there with them. It made the experience so fast and so easy. And you really can't beat the price!
