I shopped for mattresses at three stores. The first was Mattress Firm and Jimmy Siettmann was the sales representative. I was impressed with his calm friendly manner, he explained the differences in sleep positions and bed types. I wanted to comparison shop so I went to two other mattress stores. The salesmen at both stores were obnoxious with the high sales pressure and when they discovered my budget meant I wouldn't t be purchasing a high end bed, they tried to sell me a cheap overstock bed that didn't even meet my needs. And they spent more time bashing their competitors than explaining the bed types. I went right back to Mattress Firm and bought my bed from Jimmy. Plus Mattress Firm has a 120 day trial period and if I return it and replace it with the same cost or higher bed then the return is free. I dropped by on Saturday and went through his knowledgeable sales process and by Monday at 10am I had a flawless delivery, takeaway and setup of the Lux Estate mattress. Barry did not oversell and was very pleasant. He gave the information and let me make the choice. I was not steered to something that I didn't want or pressured to buy more than I needed. We purchased a King Mattress from Mattress Firm in Frederick, MD, on September 24, 2022. The purchase price was $2749.99. The mattress was delivered to our new home on October 3, 2022. At the time, there was a ripple in the top of the mattress when the delivery was made. I noticed it when the delivery staff laid the mattress down in the correct area of the bedroom. I asked about the ripple then and they assured me it would "even out." I also asked the sales associate, Barry, about it by phone. He assured me it was nothing to worry about. Everything seemed fine for a few months. Then the mattress began to lose support by March, 2023. We purchased slat boards (a.k.a. bunkie boards) on April 13, 2023, to provide extra support to the base of the frame. It helped, but in December, 2023--14 months later, the mattress sagged profoundly and lost more support. Both my husband and I had back problems from it. We are not obese. We have not misused the mattress in any way. After researching possible issues online, we both suspect that the mattress was defective upon delivery. What is infuriating is what we paid for this product, in addition to a delivery fee of $119.99. The warranty policy was only for 120 days. The mattress was defective from the get-go. We will never do business with Mattress Firm ever again. We do not recommend them. We paid a lot of money for it and it was horrible. read more

We have worked with Derek in the past for our kids'mattresses and he is a true pleasure to work with and truly understanding. His customer service skills are impeccable and his ultimate goal is to make sure his customer is happy. This review has been a long-time coming, but I only recently started diving into this whole yelp-business, and so for a while my amazing Sleepy's experience was unrecorded. But this morning, like every other morning, I woke up in sheer bliss, I needed to let people know. This was my first time mattress shopping, so I don't know what the selection to be expected is, but there are plenty of beds. Each bed I would try, I'd respond how it felt, and the salesmen would recommend the next to try. The third bed was IT. I sleep on a Latexbliss bed (a brand I'd previously never heard of) and it is incredible how it feels, every night and every morning. When I initially made my purchase, I was a bit cash-strapped, but knew that was the bed I wanted. The two salesmen I was working with, Taweh and Adam, got on the phone with another person named Chris, and they found me a floor-model that was less expensive than the manufacturer normally allowed the mattress to be sold for! I was blown away that they went so out of their way to make sure I could leave with the bed I wanted. I have since returned to varying Sleepy's locations any time I need pillows or sheets or anything bed-related. I continue to recommend it to my friends and they have had the same fantastic service I experience. read more

Josh at Mattress Firm made me forget how much I dreaded shopping for a mattress. He listened to my need, sold me what fit and was most suitable and made me feel like I had know him since childhood. He was knowledgeable about the products, sensitive to my financial situation and simply enjoyable extending a very high level of personalized service. Just moved to Frederick and saw this Mattress FIRM. I went it and the sales associate was named David D. He was amazing and patient. Gave me the time to make my decision without being pushy at all. He answered my questions and gave me some great advice on what would be best for me. He found a great price and walked me through the process of buying a mattress. We may need a guest bed soon and we will come back here. I recommend this place highly, and If you get a chance to work with David D. you won't be upset. read more

Picking out and buying a mattress was a great experience at Mattress Firm. Customer experience and service was very good. I didn't feel hounded or uncomfortable like I have at other mattress stores and other retail environments. The sales rep actually let me leave to go check prices in other surrounding mattress stores. Although I told him where I planned to go and he told me not to go there. Like a good salesman would. I found a bed of the same quality for less $$, came back to mattress firm and got a price match on the bed I wanted. He took nearly $1000 off the purchase price. Also gave me some extras. I never thought it would be so easy and fun picking a bed, as my experience at other local stores in the past have been anything but. The store manager, Andrew, was a blast, great with my kids, and extremely knowledgeable. My fiance and I went in to try out and purchase a new mattress. Before going in we had talked to Dave on the phone and he was very helpful. However, when we went in he wasn't working and we were forced to deal with the only representative there. Her name was Roseanna. She complained the minute we walked in the door about how she had been there since 10:00 am and everyone decides to come in at 7:00pm. There was one other couple in there when we got there and they were just trying out all the different mattress types. She didn't even speak to them the whole time we were there. So, she wasn't giving us any suggestions. Long story short we wound up buying an awful mattress which she told us we had 120 days to sleep on it and if we didn't like it or wanted to trade up they'd come back and pick it up with no problem. She also tried to charge us $80 for delivery after I was already told there was no delivery fee. So, fast forward to the very next day after sleeping on the mattress... literally one night! We went back in this past Saturday, January 27. Roseanna and Dave are working this time. We go in and tell her we want a full refund and to come get the mattress as she promised. She then tried to charge us $80 to come back and get it. It says nothing in their paperwork nor did she tell me I'd have to pay for them to come back and get it. So, I told her we weren't paying for it and to give me a full refund. Finally, she brought it to Dave's attention and he took care of it right away! She was extremely rude and unhelpful to say the least! Also, we went and found a much better mattress and box spring at another local store. They also through in a top notch bedframe an two $70 pillows! Always shop around!!!! read more

Nice sales person who is working for one of the most incompetent companies in business. Purchased bed, sales receipt has specific date for delivery - no show - no call. Sleepy's headquarters personnel were extremely RUDE. We currently have no idea where the mattress is or when or if we will see it. read more

To say that Sleepy's is incompetent would be the understatement of the century. I bought a mattress from Mattress Discounters, which is owned by Sleepy's, and it ended up not being right for me-- it was much too firm, and I was waking up in pain and exhausted every day. I wanted to exchange it, so I went over to Sleepy's to look for a new mattress, since they have a much larger selection (despite what Mattress Discounters told me). I found one that I liked, and wanted to make the exchange ASAP. The store manager, Derek, told me that apparently I had to sleep on my current mattress for 30 days before returning or exchanging, due to the vendor's policy. This was conveniently NOT mentioned to me when I bought the mattress. I asked Derek to make an exception, because I was waking up with serious back pain. He said he'd take care of it, but would have to call a higher-up, etc., and wouldn't be able to do so until the next day (this was on a Monday). He said he'd call me back the following day. Tuesday comes -- no phone call by evening. I go into the store and Derek tells me they're "trying to take care of it," but it wouldn't be possible till Thursday. .....so, he told me he'd call me Thursday morning. Of course, no phone call came. I call him Thursday afternoon, and he said he'd"definitely" get back to me by that evening. And, again, I never heard from him. Well, if this place was trying to lose my business, they were very successful, because at this point I decided to just forget about them, buy a new mattress elsewhere, and prop my current one against the wall and return it once the 30 day period was over. So I went ahead and bought a new mattress. A week later, I get a call from Derek-- a week and a half after the day he said he'd call me back, and a full two weeks after he said he'd take care of it-- telling me the exchange was all ready to go (conveniently now that the 30 day period was over). No apology, no recognition that his phone call was absurdly late. Needless to say, I told him I'd already bought another mattress, and would just like to make a return. Of course, this is now taking forever and a day. It's been over a week since I called to make the return, and literally nothing has happened, aside from me calling customer service and them telling me they'd call me back with an update. At best, Sleepy's/Mattress Discounters is completely and absolutely incompetent, or at worst, they have been deliberately stalling and ignoring me in order to first avoid making an exchange before the end of the 30-day period, and second to stall the return process until I give up or the window for returns has closed. read more
