Nancy Haddads customer service was shocking considering I was about to upgrade an uncomfortable mattress I bought before the summer vacation. We called to notify of the problem but the systems were down , went overseas and on our return calling was told that we were over the policy due time . However if we upgrade we can make an exchange .which I was trying to figure out with not much help from Nancy . we Bought 4 mattresses from mattress warehouse, never had an issue with any salesperson except Nancy . My husband and I went in to buy a mattress today, but I was so put off by the saleswoman that I ended up leaving and ordering the mattress I selected online. They have some four minute survey to help match you with a mattress. Because I didn't want to complete the survey, the saleswoman just walked away and surfed the internet while we looked at mattresses. When we chose a mattress and started asking questions, she didn't even get up and showed no interest in helping us. I prefer to buy at a brick and mortar store, but I'll be damned if I spend thousands at a store with ghastly costumer service. My experience with this particular Mattress Warehouse is appalling. I went to the store yesterday after shopping around for mattresses. I was in need of 5 mattress sets. I had a great offer from another establishment but I decided to stop by this store since it is conveniently located less than 1 mile from my residence before i finalize the other. The salesperson was pleasant and very helpful, Ahmed. I ordered all the 5 mattresses to be delivered today with 2 different delivery addresses under one order. I had 2 twin sets and 2 queen sets to be delivered to my sister in Germantown and a king set with the frame to be delivered to mine. This morning, preparing for my delivery, I woke up early, steam cleaned my carpet, removed my old set of queen mattress. My room is ready for the new king set. At about 11:42 AM Ahmed called me to let me know he received an email that the king set I had originally ordered was back ordered and was not available. He offered me another set they have in their inventory without the pillow top. I told him I want the pillow top per my original order as I relayed to him my concern; if they fail to deliver today, I will have to sleep with my co-sleeping 1 year old toddler on the floor. He said he will reach out to his district manager and get back to me. At 2 PM, I called the store back, another sales person picked up the phone. I had to explain the whole situation. He told me he will try to reach out to his district manager and promised to reach back to me by 5 PM. I relayed to him my concern how it is getting too late and I'm afraid I will not get my mattress on time. I asked if I can try to reach out to his district manager. He gave me the customer service number. After our conversation, I immediately reached out to the customer service and requested to be connected to the district manager. They transferred me to the district manager voice mail, so I left a message. I called the store back at 5 PM and spoke to the same sales person, he told me he was with a customer and he will call me when he's done. At 5:53 PM I tried to reach out to the customer service, but by then they are already done for the day. I had to call the store again and ended up coming to the store in person. The sales person was the only one there. I was extremely upset by then. He told me he has been trying to reach his district manager and he has not gotten back to him. I asked him to try to reach out to him again. When he did, the district manager picked up his phone. Non-chalantly, the district manager asked the sales person to give me the option to "upgrade" my order to the pillow top king set they have in inventory which happen to be less expensive and lower quality than what my original choice. His response just made me even angrier. I asked for his number and called the district manager with my own private number. I tried to reason with him. I was hoping since he is the "district manager" he will have a better customer service approach than a mere sales person. To my shock, he was worse. He told me he was on his day off, I was disrupting his day off. I shouldn't bother him, I should be happy he even picked up my call. I asked for another person to talk to since I am bothering him on his day off, he said to call John, his supervisor at the Customer Service. At the time, the customer service department has already closed. My interaction with him was very unpleasant with no resolution. If anything, he had made me even more unhappy. One of his witty remarks was "Even the owner of the company can't deliver you the mattress today". Good to know. His resolution was to either take the "upgrade" option by tomorrow or have my order refunded, though they refused to refund the whole order, only for my king set. As I am writing this review staring at my son sleeping at the floor covered in our comforter, here are my advice for future customers: Don't waste your time, energy and money on Mattress Warehouse. I told him of my back problems, and he recommended the best mattress for me. I did my research after meeting with him, and indeed, his recommendation met all the criteria. Garry's knowledge is vast - he has years of experience. He is personable and easy to work with. The company has flexible financing and delivery. On a Monday evening, Adote took the time to listen to what I wanted and show me what he had in the showroom. He was patient and led me to try out many different models to get a sense of what I like. We went to this location a few months ago now and we finally upgraded to a new Serra I comfort mattress and we have loved every moment of owning this bed. The sales member we worked with was beyond nice and worked with us to make a great deal for the bed we choose. This was our first big mattress purchase and was a little hard to make up our minds but the staff gave us our space and let us figure it out. This is something that's is huge with me personally because I hate a sales person who just seems to oddly follow you around lol. All in all I would have to say if your military go here they will work with you and you will get a great deal for a new bed. read more

The manager gave us an ok deal, and included "free" mattress encasements. However they didn't have the sizes we needed and we had to go in **four** times to get what we'd paid for! Huge waste of our time. On time, a salesman said he'd deliver the encasements to our house but didn't! If you need a mattress go to another store!! read more

Mattress Warehouse was okay and our salesperson, Zachary, was AMAZING! But some back story first. My husband and I first bought a bed here a little over two years ago. The salesperson at that time was marginal at best, kept trying to get us to buy a crazy expensive bed even though we told him repeatedly it was going to sit in the basement 90% of the year waiting for the sporadic guest until we bought a house. Still we bought from him. Day or delivery arrived, no bed, no phone call, nothing. This happened again before we finally got our bed. Took them three tries for delivery. Were we compensated for having to take off of work or for waiting on them to not show up? Of course not. Swore we would never buy from Mattress Warehouse again. Two years and some change later, we've finally bought that house. New home, new mattresses. Sent my husband out to do some looking before we got serious. He comes back saying he knows exactly who we are buying our beds from, if not which ones. He drives me to the store and of course it's the exact same location as before. Richard, my husband, has forgotten but insists we hear out the new manager, Zachary. I'm glad we did. He was exceedingly polite, incredibly knowledgeable, he wouldn't even say a bad word about the previous manager except to say he was no longer with the company. He, Zachary that is not the previous manager, put our minds at ease regarding delivery. He oversaw it personally and it went flawlessly. When we bought originally we weren't entirely convinced so we only got the replacement for the guestroom but everything went so well we went back for our bed and beds for the kids. I bought a Serta iComfort Intellectual from here in November. My girlfriend and I wake up every morning and are immediately thankful for the great deal we got on our mattress. I read some of the reviews for this place just now, and I felt the need to stick up for Zack. He and Sparta were very helpful and straightforward with us. We even used their price quote as a bargaining chip at other mattress stores and they did everything (called a manager) and could not beat the price. A Serta rep even came in while we were in the process of purchasing the mattress, and we jokingly asked for free pillows from him and he said he couldn't do it. Zack did what he could and gave us a free gift to compensate even though we were joking around. I hope Zack still has his job because it'd be unfortunate for him that I posted my Yelp review so late. read more

FRAUD ALERT, Buyers Beware!!!! Mattress Warehouse is Where Fraud Happens. This store KNOWINGLY sells defective products and will make the customer pay to replace mattresses that contain defects. WARNING - The BedMatch technology is also just a gimmick, all hype. They use it to push defective products like the Kingsdown brand, which has received an extremely high number of complaints due to excessive sagging and defects. Further, customer service at the store is even worse. You have to pay to replace the mattress aka damages (remove, shipping and lost time from work) from being a victim of fraud when it is the company's fault. (FACT: It does not work that way in a court of law.) After going into the store to complain we got the runaround. One salesperson even pretended that we never purchased a mattress from the store - while having a customer record displayed in front of him. FACT: MATTRESS WAREHOUSE HAS RECEIVED COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE THAT PURCHASED KINGSDOWN MATTRESSES - The Kingsdown mattress I purchased FAILED after only two months. It is firm on one side and soft on the other side, it also slopes downward in the middle. It is like sleeping on a hill. When reported to the store, a person that works there said the mattress has a RECORD OF DEFECTS. Advice to consumers that shopped at the Mattress Warehouse and got ripped off - Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection AND the Consumer Protection Division of the Maryland Attorney General. read more

Poor service all the way across the board. My husband and I have been shopping around for an upgrade to our current queen size mattress. Our first visit to Mattress Warehouse, we were greeted by pleasant customer service. We did the sleep test to figure out what mattresses were best suited for us. We found one bed that we liked and decided to go with it. The brand was Cheswick Manor and the bed was the Abbington. Upon delivery, the appearance was different. When we laid on it, the mattress was firm when we ordered a soft. The appearance was alarming, and I called to report the wrong bed was delivered. Mattress Warehouse explained that they did change the appearance and I was told it was the correct bed. My husband drove to the store to set up a date when the bed could be picked up, because it was still not the bed we purchased. The store said they could not help us and gave us a phone number to customer service. They did explain that it would cost us $200 handling fee when the bed was picked up, but we have to wait 30 days. Overall, this has been a terrible experience and I would not recommend Mattress Warehouse or the Company Cheswick Manor. In the beginning, we would have been ok with just switching out the wrong bed for the right one. Unfortunately, with the staff in the store playing the blame game and blowing us off, we prefer to NOT do business with them. As soon as I receive an update on my bed, I will update here. read more

I wish I could give zero star to this terrible company with even worse customer service. I bought a mattress March 5 2016. The same week it was delivered, I went to the store and informed store manager Zachary that it was defective. The springs in the middle were collapsed. He gave me the website to go on to file a claim which I did right away. Two months goes by and no response. I went back to the store for follow up, Zachary did not have any info but while I was there he emailed someone in the company to get an answer and he said he will call me back when he receives response. Did not get the call back. Called him again on 5/28/16 and asked for a refund. Explained to him that it was my only mattress and I have been unable to get any sleep for almost 3 months. He said there is nothing he can do and asked me to call 301-682-8504x0 during work week. Called on 6/3/16 waited the maximum amount allowed by the automated service and left a message to call back. No one bothered to call back. Called again on 6/17/16 and was told by a representative that my claim was approved on 5/23/16 and a letter was mailed to me. Informed her that I did not get a letter but at this point I would like a refund. She transferred me to district manager Tarek Elshafey. Called him on 6/17/16 and left a message to call back. 6/18/16 went back to the store and spoke to Zachary, he suggested to call today Monday 6/20/16 and speak to John Gibson or Ashley. Called today. John Gibson nor Ashley were available according to Kelly at the refund department. She said there is nothing she can do and transferred me to Winston another district manager. Just left him a message to call back but from my past experience, he is not going to call back... it has been a nightmare to deal with this company. read more
