Walking in we were immediately greeted and was asked all the basic questions of what we're looking for which is a mattress and ruled out anything that's memory foam and just something simple which we were instantly taken to a few options for us and a matter of choose the firmness we desired. The other options that we did have is there is no longer box springs that supports the mattress which is a nicer option so it's just that and the base where that's the other option to choose from the basic to the bougie one that will lift your mattress to a more comfort and supportive fit. Seriously not knowing much of the difference or comparison with any other type of mattress but did love that they do offer a lot of accessories so that you don't need to shop for like mattress cover and sheets as well but we did keep it simple and they do deliver and remove your old mattress as well making it a simple process and since there was a type of sale that worked well for us we walked away feeling great knowing that some comfort was as easy process as giving them a visit. First and foremost Richard is amazing and deserves a raise. He was super patient and knowledgeable and truly a pleasure to work with. As for delivery I think they need to look into another company to work with. They used Island Movers for my delivery and I ended up having rings stolen from my apartment. I think it's important to look into these other companies that you are working with. They have multiple reviews on Yelp from different customers that had very similar situations happen to them. I am absolutely enjoying my new mattress but now I am in the middle of a horrible ongoing investigation. Hopefully I can get some good rest on my mattress after all of this!! read more

This Location gets a 5 Star. John was my representative. At this location I didn't feel judged, or rushed. I was greeted with friendliness, and patience. Premium mattresses delivered the next day. The only two hiccups were a minor defect in the Mattress, that's was addressed. The second hiccup is due to my experience in sales. I did get a used car vibe a couple of times , when asking very specific questions about a product, the answer was given to me even though incorrectly. Questions were thickness of the mattress compared to another, and firmness options of another mattress that Was comparable to the one I purchased. This did not affect my opinion of the location. Mattress Firm return/exchange policy; charges $249.99 for any return/exchange/120 trial return. Salesman did not mention this before the sale (or after). I bought a Sealy "Mattress in a Box". Salesman guaranteed it would have a "factory fresh smell" when opened and would take a day or 2 to air out. Well, it did not have any new odor. So, I called my salesman the first thing he said was, "There's $250 return fee." I never got to mention there were slight sags on the middle left and right sides (the center third was nice and firm). This is a used mattress! Pretty sad company to sell repacked used mattresses. read more

As soon as we walked thru the doors we got approached by a female sales person name MARIEL and she asked us if we needed help and if we been to this location before or been to mattress firm. So we responded YES been to this actual location and also the location on Beratania. So she asked up what bed size etc your looking for? So we told her we are looking for QUEEN SIZE beds and I showed her a pic on my phone on what EXACT BED mattress I'm looking for. So once I showed her the image on my phone she SHOWED us the exact bed and other options. She even answered our questions on regards to their ELECTRIC ADJUSTABLE BED FRAME that they have on promotion for Presidents' Day sale. Once i walked in i was greeted by Samuel immediately, wonderful customer service from start to finish. I believe he genuinely did everything he could in order to get me a mattress 1 hour before they closed. I arrived at 5pm and they close at 6pm! They dont stock much matresses on site and i needed this matress in one hour before closing (6pm) on a sunday. Wowowow, I'm so impressed! Can you say quality service?! Shoutout to Sam for hooking me up with a new mattress but also for some top notch, five star service! From start to finish, Sam walked me through the process of picking out the perfect mattress based on personal preference and possible needs. Conveniently located on the corner of Kapiolani across of Inspiration, this shop is tiny but all that matters is what's on the inside, right? The layout of the store is simple, maybe 15-20 mattresses varying in softness, texture, coolness, and comfort are spread out throughout the store. Sam walked me through the picking process and had me sit/lay on three different beds ranging from "soft," "medium," and "firm." From there we walked through various mattress options based on a few things: problems when sleeping (snoring, sleep apnea, acid reflux, etc. -- luckily none of these for me) and from there we narrowed down selection based on my personal preference. I tried out a variety of mattresses from Serta, Tempurpedic, and even a Purple mattress! I'm guilty as I often fall victim to clicking on Facebook and Instagram ads, and have seen this mattress popping up every so often--so of course I had to see what all the fuss was about. Sam was extremely knowledgeable and kind, and always quick to inform me about each mattress. He told me that the Purple mattress was originally made and modeled after the mattresses that hospitals would use for burn victims. Nonetheless, I was in and out of there in less than 40 minutes with an new mattress (well my mattress will be delivered later this week, but you know what I mean). Alan K. Took care of my sister last week and today he took care of me! The last mattress I had was for free because the tenant before me moved back to Taiwan and the mattress was one of the pieces he left behind ( it was still very brand new) . I ended up putting 5 years on that mattress because it was such a comfy mattress ( I still have to double check on what brand it is) and was planning on using it til it ran to the ground. With that being said , I was not in the market for a mattress - and it didn't cross my mind to get a new one. So, this is my first time going into Mattress Firm, I was just looking around. And a girl came up right when I walked in and started to talk to me.. I get it.. this is her job... but she was a little pushy... so I told her, it's okay, I just want to look for now... When I rounded the corner, and realize, this is the first time feeling the purple mattress (FYI, not my favorite) the same girl came back and said, hey I am a "mattress specialist" and I can help you find a mattress that best fits your needs... sooooo I get it, but she kept pushing on having me get on all the mattresses to see which I would like the best.... After trying 3... decided I just wanted to leave... and just left.. and this kind of left a bad taste in my mouth... Tbh, if I have a question, I'll ask. And I really hated how she just kept pushing and talked to us, when 1... I didn't have any questions and 2. She kept implying she was a "mattress specialist"... I honestly wanted to walk around, and I just didn't want to be followed around and kind of forced to try beds when I didn't want too.... Sorry, I don't think I'm going to ever back again. A few months ago my girlfriend and I were looking for a low profile box springs for our bed and called several mattress stores to get an idea of what was out there and how much it would cost. We called mattress firm first and an employee named Alan answered the phone. He answered all of our questions and even went above and beyond to look up more information about each one to help us make a decision. We called several other places who either tried to rush to answer our questions and get off the phone with us or wanted to charge extra for delivery services to our building, we live In a high rise condo building. After all this we decided that we wanted to go in to mattress firm that day and get eyes on what the box springs there looked like. When we arrived we were greeted at the door and after asking if Alan was available he came out to meet with us, he remembered us calling and began showing us the box springs we had talked about on the phone. Alan again went above and beyond to show us roughly how tall each size box spring would be and was very knowledgeable about the products they sold. He really made us feel like we had plenty of information to make an informed decision and purchase. Once we had bought our box spring he was also very helpful and kind in helping us set a delivery to our home and even provided us with $49.99 discount for delivery since it was just a box spring and not a matress as well. On delivery day it was delivered within the time window we had been given and the delivery crew brought it in from the loading dock, took it up the elevator, and carried it right into our home where we asked them too. It is not often that you see a company with such a complete sense of great customer service through out the entire process. We will be using them for all our future mattress needs. read more

I took my mom and dad down to the Kapiolani store where we were helped by a wonderfully knowledgeable and courteous gentleman named Alex. From the time we walked my dad was particularly impressed by Alex's patience and professionalism. After a few questions, Alex knew a firm spring mattress was what my parents preferred and he invited them to lay down and relax for a few minutes on several different models. My dad asked a lot of the same questions over and over. That would normally try the patience of a good salesperson but Alex's answers were informed and his pleasant comforting tone never changed or wavered. They get a 4 and I'll tell you why. Service is great and acceptable. Our bed frame broke twice and the mattress which was $$$$ sunk in and was not keeping shape and it was just months we had it. Called and and inspector came out. Turns out that the bed we had was discontinued, the frame was the wrong frame for the type of King we had (that's why it kept breaking) etc. With all that they get a 4 because service before and after was attentive and willing. They had us come in and choose another upgrade and their gonna deliver a new set to us. Manager was nice and very accommodating. Only feedback is they need music in the store and structure it with a less cold feeling inside, o and they have to stop the chronic guys from holding their signs on the streets. read more

Commercials are inundated with mattress ads, all touting low prices, guarantees and good selection. It's ironic that they are often on late at night so they must assume you have insomnia because you're sleeping on a lousy mattress. Their spokespeople look like they are over caffeinated and haven't slept for days. So how does one find the right mattress store? Answer: trust your fellow Yelpers! America's Mattress had such consistently high ratings, it was an easy first stop in looking for a new mattress for my almost 90 year old Mom who had recently taken a fall and suffered two fractures. I met Josh who gave me a warm greeting and was very low key which was much appreciated. He was very courteous, knowledgable and respectful of what our needs were as well as my time since my week was packed with numerous meetings about my Mom's condition. Because of her frailty and injury, I decided on a Serta Bellagio pillow top mattress with a movable base (which replaces the traditional boxspring), which would allow her with very simple controls to raise and lower her back and foot area making it easier to maneuver in and out of bed. Josh asked good questions which allowed us to get the base with lower legs since she is tiny. He even gave us some complimentary pillows which will be appreciated. Mattresses, as we all know, are very expensive investments, but they are also long term investments that pay handsome dividends in your quality of sleep. We bought our last bed at this Kapi'olani location 21 years ago. Not sure if the store name changed along the way, however we just went back to the location we knew. We arrived shortly after store opened, and received a friendly greeting from salesperson Danielle. Long story short, Danielle juggled three sets of clients at the same time, and did so effectively...... all of us were having a great time learning from Danielle, testing beds, making decisions. One of the other clients has actually turned into a great friend. After lots of back and forth testing, we made our decision, and was guided through the purchase and relating decisions. Not once did we feel pressured, instead informed, so that we could make the best decision. The mattress we chose was on island, the adjustable frame, was not. Danielle gave us "the official" arrival time, but said she felt it would be her earlier..... and it was. We were contacted for an actual delivery day. The day before delivery we were given a two hour window. We were impressed that as we got closer to delivery time we were notified by automated voice messages, as well as text and email. Very, very impressive. When the delivery guys arrived I was pleasantly greeted, and treated, during the entire removal of old bed and installation of new bed. They did an amazing job...... and we were thrilled. We LOVE our new adjustable bed, and wonder why we waited so long. The ENTIRE process, beginning with Danielle, and ending with the delivery guys, was really great. And did I mention we love the new bed?
