I visited this location today after being informed that I could receive assistance through the Red Cross, including a possible discount, due to a recent fire in my apartment. When I arrived with my mother, the employee (blonde older lady with glasses) assisting us stated she was not aware of any such program. I explained that I had already spoken with someone and simply came in to view the mattresses, as the organization assisting me would be handling the pricing. She then asked if I had spoken to someone from the store, and I clarified that I had spoken with a representative connected to the Red Cross program. At that point, she laughed and made a comment suggesting that someone else expected her to do the work without compensation. I found this response unprofessional and asked if she was unwilling to assist me. The interaction became uncomfortable, and she ultimately disengaged, stating that she would not be paid for helping. Given the circumstances--already dealing with the stress of a fire in my home--I found this experience disappointing and the level of service unacceptable. read more

We stopped into the store today and we were greeted by Eric. We gave him a simple overview of what we were looking for - king size, 13" minimum, firm, side sleepers, toss-and-turners. We tried mattresses in all different price ranges, features, and styles (spring, hybrid). He knew where to take us right away and the 2nd bed we tried is what we ended up going with. We truly got the best idea of what was what and Eric had us try about 10 different mattresses. I didn't like the ones with a lot of cooling technology personally but it would be amazing for anyone who runs super hot, otherwise I don't find it very necessary. We ended up going with the Sterns & Foster Estate 14.5" Firm mattress. Like Goldilocks - it was jusssst right for us. The lost star was because I had to use the restroom and it was clean but so gross at the same time if you can imagine. Just old and outdated. Also, when I went to the restroom the transaction was completed with my husband without me being present. Not that I can't trust him to do it, and he wouldn't think twice because I don't HAVE to be there ever - it was just rude to not have me included as a part of the final steps when we spent all the time together. Also, the $200 off the list price wasn't really $200 off. They gave the option of waiving the delivery charge or pillows. Delivery charge is only $100 what was going to happen with the remainder of the $200? Pillows were OVER $100 each and resulted in an additional $50 for delivery charge and "maybe more" because of possibly needing a 3rd man for delivery because of the turn at a landing in our house. I felt like I would've potentially gotten schemed out of more money day of delivery. I ended up cancelling the order - no fault to Eric at all, he was truly wonderful and knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone see him. Sterns & Foster had a better deal directly on their site. Still $200 off but also a $300 visa gift card, white glove delivery, free haul away, 10 year warranty, etc so buying direct did make the most sense in the long run. read more

BUYERS BEWARE! THEY DELIVER CHEAPER QUALITY MATTRESSES!!! I Purchased a mattress from clearance on 8/18/17 @ 38 Nardozzi Pl New Rochelle, NY location with Salesman David H Castro ("manager") scammed us by selling us one item & delivered another cheaper quality mattress that looked similar to the one we purchased. He told us to pick up the item same day of purchase but we asked for delivery. My husband took a picture of the item, when the salesman was entering the item we told him to please make sure it is the HR440 queen size mattress with box spring to be delivered. We received a delivery of another cheaper quality similar queen size mattress. I called him on the phone and he stated " you should have picked it up right then and there Now what is your problem?" When confronted at the store 8/20/17 he was very unprofessional, very rude, a liar, NOT accommodating at all he told us he did not sell us the HR440 when we showed him the mattress in the store and asked him to please accommodate us since he made an error. Please pick up the other mattress so we can pick up the mattress that we purchased that was still sitting in the store. He said I can't give you that mattress. I will give you a refund cause "YOU ARE DONE! YOU ARE DONE!" I have a video of salesman in the store. Hans another salesman "manager" said he will accommodate me and tried several times to help but was told by Mr. Castro to go about his business he will not accommodate us cause we were done and he will give us a refund. I said fine give me my refund. He said he will refund me back to my credit card and that he will email me with a receipt in a few days or I that I would need to go in to pick up a receipt. I said I am not leaving until I get a printed receipt with my refund today. He then signed his name and wrote full refund & expected me to leave the store like a fool with a bogus receipt he claimed was a refund. The same way he thought he can deliver us a cheaper item and will not notice the difference. I then had to call the New Rochelle police to make a report of the whole incident. I did report to BBB. Horrible. I measured and measured again then went into Ashley's picked out a sectional and was told yes this will fit no worries. It didn't and I got refunded the couch price (but still lost on the delivery charge). I asked the delivery guy what size couch can I get he said anything under 89 inches so I went back picked out a sofa loveseat that was 87 inches. It was brought and they said no it wouldn't fit. Now I am out $220 for delivery charges and was told that I can get a guaranteed delivery where they take the couch apart and assemble it inside but that would be $169 on top of the $220 I already spent on delivery charges. They didn't help at all and all they care about is the sale. They will tell you whatever they have to and they can care less. If I could I would give this store a 0 stars. Go to another location if you want one of their items just not the New Rochelle location. read more

Husband and I stopped by to check out a Tempurpedic mattress. Left with a quote of approx $5,000 --- we said we would think it over --- we were serious about a purchase and actually did end up opening a line of credit. Discussed with the rep that we would be given a month to get back to them regarding the deal they gave us. Today marks a month and my husband just got a call from Sleepys delivery guy telling us our bed is being delivered today. WE NEVER AUTHORIZED THE PURCHASED. I should have listened to the reviews. These people are terrible. Recently bought a box spring which I tried to return, due to the size, but they wouldn't allow me to exchange it for the correct item. They also quoted me one price on the phone and then a different price on the item shows up on invoice which they explain is company policy. I questioned this but took the item anyways as I needed a place for our last minute guests to sleep. I'll never go back to any Sleepy's as they clearly don't understand how to treat their customers. As far as customer service is concerned, this location only, should receive 5 stars. I lowered my rating because of the negative experience that I had with the condition of the mattresses that I received. I did not start my mattress shopping journey at this particular location but I am fortunate to have ended my journey with the professionals at this store. Thomas is amazing at his job. When he said he would make things right for a customer he did exactly that for my situation. I definitely had a worst-case scenario shopping experience but with the best-case scenario associate guiding me through this trying process. Never once did I feel rushed or pressured or that I was an inconvenience to Thomas. Whenever I hit a wall in my warranty claim process, Thomas assured me that he would do whatever he could to make it right. The quality of the mattresses (yes mattresses) that I received were less than desirable. Thomas assured me that with his help I would find my forever mattress. I received a very defected and very expensive bed. Fortunately, as a consumer, the return/inspection/warranty process allowed my to submit evidence showing that my mattresses (yes mattresses) were in fact defected. I would caution other customers to do their research on the trial period, return policy, and warranty claims process. Eric and Jake pitched in as well and helped me finalize my last return. Although I was working directly with Thomas during this process, these associates lent a helping hand as well. I walked in and was greeted by an employee named Hans I let him know my budget was about $1,000 and I couldn't spend a dollar more than that due to financial issues I was going through. He then shows me a mattress I fall in love with he tells me it's around my budget, we go to his desk to process the sale and he tells me my total is $4,000 HOW is that anywhere near my budget? I am deeply disappointed and angered with the experience I have had with Sleepy's. I have had my bed for less than 2 years. I submitted a claim through their warranty handler, www.mattressmarshals.com, and received a phone call denying my claim. I am sleeping on a mattress with depressions of over an inch, they claim 7/8 of an inch, and I was told there is nothing they can do. I have a terrible Carolina Mattress, which has no law tag. That's another thing, make sure before the delivery people leave your house that you have a law tag on your mattress. I am not even sure a company is supposed to sell a product without the proper documents. This place should be put out of business. The company has over 16,000 complaints on consumeraffairs.com. I normally don't write reviews but will go out of my way on this one. I tried to buy a mattress here and actually went in intending to complete the purchase the same day. They played so many games and were so elusive that I could not figure out whether the mattress was even available or what the final price would be. It seemed like a classic bait and switch game in that after suggesting a particular mattress they then called me back and asked me if I woud like to come in and take a look at a "different but similar" mattress. They also don't answer phone calls very effectively and, in my limited experience, will never call you back even in you leave your number. Finally I bought a similar mattress elsewhere for a better price with much less run-around. My advice would be to avoid this one. We met with the sales representatives, Hans and David, and both of them were very knowledgeable and professional. They went above and beyond to try to accommodate with a mattress. I was about to have a very bad experience with Sleepy's but David in the New Rochelle store made it right! I purchased a mattress at another Sleepy's location which wasn't in stock in that store. One was in stock another store which I couldn't get to, so they agreed to deliver it to a closer store - the New Rochelle store. When we went to pick it up, there was a gross stain on it and we refused to take the item. David the manager immediately worked at finding us a new mattress and called me to apologize and let me know we could pick up a new mattress in a few days. Rating is - 5 stars...not the 1 star noted... Absolute nightmare of place... After spending more than $2,600 on a mattress and new bed, all I can say is STAY AWAY!!! They delivered the wrong mattress and bed... Then tried to convince me to keep it... When I said no! admitted that the mattress I bought was not in stock and the bed on back order... By some miracle, they found a mattress and delivered it a week later... the bed followed 2 weeks later... Now the mattress is sinking in the middle only after 3 months...and know that I'm 5'5 and 120 pounds and I'm not sleeping on the mattress everyday... Sounds deffective to me... Sleepy saying there is nothing they can do... I my choices are to submit another claim to manufacturer...or take a $500 credit and select another bed! REALLY??? What a rip off!!! Be forewarned!!! Me and my wife bought a $5,000.00 dollar mattress from Sleepys in New Rochelle and the salesman's only concern was trying to sell me the top of the line mattress, which in fact he did because me and my wife explained how bad of sleep we were getting, so he sells me a Kingsdown top of the line, it gets to my house we get to sleep on it comfortably for 1 month and my wife's side is already sagging "REALLY" after only one month and my wife weighs half of what I weigh, sounds defective, so we setup for an inspector to come out, he goes over everything than tells me that there is no mattress worth $5,000.00 dollars in this world, so of course he did all of his measurements and pictures and states to me this is certainly defective, so over two weeks goes by, and not one phone call from anyone of Sleepys, so my wife calls the great seller of a salesman that we had, and was kind of brushing us off, finally a representative from Sleepys calls and says there is really nothing we can do unless you spend an additional $109.00 dollars then we can refund only $4100.00 dollars back to you REALLY I HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY WITH SLEEPYS TO ACTUALLY GET A PARTIAL REFUND, WHAT A RIP OFF EVERYONE OUT THERE LOOKING TO PURCHASE FROM SLEEPYS STAY FAR FAR AWAY, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT WHATSOEVER, NOW I GUESS IT IS LITIGATION TIME FOR ME TO ACTUALLY TRY TO GET BACK ON THE GARBAGE OF A MATTRESS THAT I PURCHASED. read more
