Michael was extremely professional when helping me purchase a twin mattress for my 94-year-old grandmother. She recently had a bad fall and will be needing a caretaker, so we decided a new bed would help her at home. When the bed arrived, the box spring was too high for her to climb into, and she happened to be coming home from the hospital that same day. I called Michael, and he went above and beyond--he quickly helped us get a lower foundation and didn't charge anything to make the switch. Worst experience ever!!!!! If I could put zero stars, I would. First, we purchased a tempurpedic mattress and adjustable base and we're told we were getting the best deal and all of the discounts that Tempurpedic currently offered. The next morning I looked online and realized that the store had charged me $100 more for the base that I purchased than tempurpedic would online. I was so charged double for my pillow as well. The store said that they would rectify it and refunded me the amount owed. Later, once our mattress and base were delivered we called because the base was making noise when it moved and we purchased that base specifically because it didn't make noise in the store as it moved. When we called, the manager said to call tempurpedic bud we purchased with mattress firm so why would we do that? Finally, he offered to send a new one out. When we received the second base, it too made noise. Again, the manager said we had to call tempurpedic. We went to the store location to discuss the matter and the manager was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Then, when playing around with the base that we were showed at the store and were told we were purchasing, we realized that it was a different base than the one purchased and delivered. There was $1000 difference between the lowest base and the one that we purchased and we did that under the impression from the sales rep that the one that we were showed was the one that we were purchasing and it didn't make noise when moving up and down. At first the manager didn't want to take the return even though they falsely sold us a different item. They finally took the return but the refunds have not been reflected in my account. It's been over a month and I still haven't received any refunds and we returned the base right away. Oh, and they still charged us for delivery of the base even though they falsely sold us the wrong one. I can't even make this up. Terrible terrible service!!! read more

Sleepys sold us a defective Stearns & Foster mattress! They sent an inspector who believed the mattress was defective and said they would recommend replacement; however, Sleepys notified us a few days later that the mattress met manufacturer standards. Don't go here. I bought a queen size bed from this location, my first real bed because I just graduated from college. I SPECIFICALLY asked what their policy was if the box spring couldn't fit up the staircase because my staircases are narrow. My salesman said worst case scenario was that they would replace my box spring with a split box spring as soon as possible. Not only did my delivery come at 10PM (to be fair I requested between 6-10PM but never thought they'd show up at 10PM on the dot), but lo and behold the box spring did not fit up the staircase as I had suspected. The delivery guys left the box spring in my living room and said to call the store back in the morning to get my replacement split box spring. I called them today and they are charging me $100 to replace it!!! After I SPECIFICALLY asked about this EXACT scenario and was informed the worst case scenario wouldn't involve extra charges!!! I am incredulous. Is that even legal? After expressing my unwillingness to pay this hidden fee I was told to call again tomorrow so I can talk to the guy who sold me my bed in the first place. This is all just turning into a frustrating circus. EDIT: After being bounced around three sales people over a period of two days and being strung along with many promises of call-backs, I finally was able to speak with Dave, my original salesman. Dave was great and assured me I wasn't crazy, that he did say the worst case scenario would be a quick split box spring replacement and there was no $100 replacement fee. Dave has been helpful and was a good original salesman, but I maintain that the rest of this process with Sleepy's has been decidedly terrible. Customer service by the other representatives was uninformed and they would leave me waiting by the phone for hours at a time after saying "they'd call back in a few minutes." I do not appreciate being strung along and lied to by people to whom I am contributing my business. If I could do it over again I wouldn't have come here, it's been too much stress. read more

Lo and behold, they delivered literally only the mattress and not the base that we ordered. Rex has been distinctly unhelpful through this entire process, suggesting that we should just cancel the order completely rather than working to fix it. I went to Mattress Firm in Springfield. The salesman was very nice. However, he was giving me a demonstration on a Sealy mattress with base with features including the head and feet that would go up and down and a massage feature. I loved all the features. I told him I want all the bells and whistles that the demo was doing. I assumed I was getting that exact bed when I bought it. However, when the bed was delivered the base had the head and feet feature but not the massage. When I called today, the salesman said, oh no, to have the massage feature it would have cost you so much more and I thought you were wanting to save money. My question is why didn't he demo the one that I would be receiving. I felt like I got a bait and switch. It was like I test drove a cadillac and got Toyota. When I called I felt like it was like, sorry about that but.......you got what you got. read more

I bought a top of the line mattress recently and was told I could return it if not satisfied with my purchase. I was also told I HAD yes you read that right HAD to purchase a mattress cover at the Sleepy's store to make my warranty valid. Of course I did. And guess what, it doesn't matter. Order #99029205. On 5/31/13, I went to the store to purchase a full-sized, firm (extra) firm mattress. Instead of telling me the store didn't sell extra firm (and referring me to the website), I was led to the firmness mattress "in the store" an iSeries firm. I made the purchase because the 'queen-sized' mattress felt firm in the store, and was ensured that I would not have a problem. However, when the iSeries was delivered on 6/5/13, after only two nights of sleeping on this mattress, the mattress began to sag in the middle. I asked my wife to confirm if this was the case and she confirmed the mattress was sagging. I was furious & disappointed. On the third day I went back to the store (different sales associate) to complain about the mattress, but soon learned these associates are interested in 'sales'. I left the store after trying out several mattresses that didn't suit my needs and was referred to another nearby Sleepy's that was said to be carrying firmer mattresses. This second Sleepy store did not have any firmer mattresses, and I was told that in a few days a different brand of mattress will arrive at the store and that I would receive a call. That store manager did indeed give me a call and after a few days I was able to make it to the store to test the mattress. However, again, the mattress was not firm enough. A day or two later, I called the 1-800 number and to my surprise, I was told that the iSeries' guarantee & return policies were different from other mattresses which meant I had to wait 30 days before I could be eligible to swap mattresses. I read both my sales order and the delivery order, and no where on either of those documents (and the only documents I received) did it say "except for iSeries" mattresses. I don't fault any of the sales associates or 1-800 reps. The rep did refer me to the supervisor who supposedly 'waived' the 30-day exhcange period and I was to go back to the store, which I did, but to no avail, they had the same mattresses, etc. I called the 1-800 number again, and because Sleepy's won't refund my money for what I'd called a defective mattress, I was referred to the 'sales' rep, who did a wonderful 'sales' job on me. It turns out that the 30-day waiver was no waiver at all. My iSeries was delivered on 6/5 and my exchanged mattress (plus $500+) is scheduled to be delivered on 7/6, 30 days plus one. I felt 'trapped' in the Sleepy's system and felt I was treated 'deceptively' by all along the way. I told the 1-800 sales rep that if this supposedly, more expensive mattress sags or is not 'ultra firm' as advertised, that I was carry the mattress back to the local Sleepy's front door myself, drop it off, and request full refund. To which, the sales rep said, "of course, you can 'return the mattress when it is "delivered" to your home." Of course, anyone can 'refuse' delivery, but I will have to 'accept' delivery and 'test' the mattress to see if it fits my needs. This is an example of the 'sales' mentality vice the 'customer satisfaction' philosophy that is missing from Sleepy's. I'm truly disappointed and cannot and will not recommend Sleepy's to anyone. I will go with other companies, i.e., HSN, QVC, etc., which offers white-glove service and where an ordered mattress is 'manufactured/built" only when an order is placed with all the guarantees for returning mattresses if not satisfied. horrible place to buy a mattress. ive had my Simmons for less than 3 years. it is sagging and the whole thing has shifted. because there is a mark that happened during delivery they will not honor the warranty. there is something wrong when you walk into the very same store your purchased the mattress from explain the problem all they do is say call 1 800 sleepys. open a warranty claim have an inspector come to your home than deny the claim over a stain that was on the mattress that there delivery guys caused. we even paid extra for a mattress cover. we even wanted to buy another bed from sleepys. after being treated this way. ha! read more
