I cannot tell you how great it was to walk into a store tell the representative exactly what we're looking for and not be pressured into spending a ton of money when we don't have to! That type of thing just doesn't happen anymore, i understand these types of stores want to sell as much as possible at one time but the customer doesn't necessarily like that very much. No pushy sales people here! very fast and easy just as it should be. AMAZING! The entire shopping, buying, delivery experience from the Mattress Firm on Kennedy Rd was refreshingly easy, hassle, and stress free. Store Manager Scott Z calmly and unobtrusively answered any questions my wife & I had when we first came in to start trying out mattresses. We had a lot of questions, and Scott had all the (honest!) answers. He didn't follow us around the store, he let us find our own way, and politely assisted whenever we needed. When we ultimately quoted out a full set (mattress, frame, box springs, topper, delivery, etc), he thoughtfully provided meaningful discounts. When I returned a couple months later ready to execute our quote, I happened to have found an Amazon listing for the same mattress that was slightly lower, and he beat that too, without any struggle or hesitation. After we took delivery, we realized that we severely underestimated how high our bed would end up being with the really thick mattress, high box springs, and raised frame (the surface was about 3 feet from the ground!). Coming from our old low profile IKEA platform bed frame on slats (no box spring), it was really too big of a difference for us to acclimate to, and far too challenging for our dog to get in/out of. Well, a short call to Scott, and he had a better frame option and lower profile box springs out on a truck for us the very same day! The (two) delivery crews were also nice, thoughtful, respectful people, who set us up quickly and painlessly, and were very professional. I have to say, it's admittedly been a while since I've written a detailed review online, but the service I experienced at the Windsor CT Mattress Firm was unparalleled, especially this day and age... Low pressure, highly knowledgeable, competitive prices, fair policies, flexible services, and a completely "customer-first" attitude truly make this store one of a kind. We're grateful to have it in our own backyard, and will always look to go here first for all of our future bedding needs. I was in this past weekend with my family and connected with the manager, Scott Z. He was fantastic. He listened to our wants and needs realizing at the same time we had a budget that we wanted to stay within. He made our experiance with Mattress Firm more personalized getting to know us instead of just trying to make a sale. (I am not receptive to fast and pushy salespeople) So with the help of Scott, we were able to put together a matteress and adjuatible base fitting into all of our parameters that we liked! This store completely breaks the mold from your typical retail mattress experience. There were none of the typical high pressure sales clichés: "You will spend a third of your life in bed... For less than the price of a cup of coffee per day... blah blah..." Scott was extremely helpful, knew his products inside and out, and was more of a guide than a salesman. He helped us find exactly what we were looking for in a bed, and didn't waste time with higher priced models that we may not have found satisfactory. Checkout was fast and without hassle. Terrible! When the store was Sleepy's it was wonderful! Scott was fantastic! Efficient and organized. Now, not at all. Very bad experience. We've purchased many sets of bedding for family over the last 15 years, never had an issue before. From making promises he knew were against company policy and couldn't be done, issues with a damaged product to delivery problems, terrible! John and Greg, you need some classes in communicating with each other better and learning the delivery rules. No, you didn't do your best when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. My wife and I began shopping around for mattresses and felt like we entered into a real-life nightmare. We started our journey at two other stores and were so turned away by the awkward sales associates that were obviously more interested in the sale than supplying us with what we honestly needed. Two stores with a total of 2 hours listening to horrible sales pitches. Sleepy's in Windsor is less than a 5 minute drive from our house. We walked in expecting the same kind of treatment as the other two places, but smiles were made and a sale was complete within 20 minutes! My wife and I couldn't believe it! For a salesman that cares about getting you what you need more than a satifaction of taking your money, go see Scott Z at Sleepy's! I'm not sure if I can remember the last time I was treated so poorly by retail staff. My husband and I went there to purchase a mattress, and were completely ignored. There was one staff member there and he was helping another customer, we were the only other people in the store, it was impossible to miss us, so we waited. We waited for over 20 minutes while the conversation went from mattresses to books and history. The sale had been long over but the sales man insisted on keeping the conversation going even though the other patron tried to end it multiple times. However we still waited. Finally the other patron left and we were excited to start our process. He walked out of the store, and the sales man still ignored us. We were the only people in the entire store and he just sat there and turned to his computer. We asked of we could be helped and he said we would just need to wait because he had to finish up a couple things. That is when we had enough and walked out.
