My first time using them, the intake person was professional and said they would arrive in less than an hour and Jesse did just that. She updated me as he got closer to my residence. When Jesse arrived he was professional and asked if I wanted him to use shoe covers before entering. The work was completed properly without him dirtying up the house as a prior plumbing company did. Scam? Or epic fail? I called Sal's for what I thought would be a simple job: my kitchen sinks were draining slowly. Not terribly slowly, but if one sink was full and I pulled the plug, water would back up into the other sink while it was draining. I figured the drain needed to be snaked out. They sent two guys over on a Friday morning. They spent two hours monkeying around and making a lot of noise with their rooter, then told me they were unable to clear the drain, which was now completely stopped up. They told me they needed to tear up my drywall on the floor below and replace a pipe. They left me with standing water in both sinks, a kitchen that smelled like a sewer, and an estimate for further work totaling $1200. That afternoon I contacted another plumber, who came by on Monday morning. He had the drain cleared and working like new in 20 minutes. Sure enough, just like I'd expected, it was a simple job. Sal's guys only made things much worse than when they started, and tried to get me to pay for a big, unnecessary repair job. I was needlessly left without the use of my kitchen sinks or dishwasher for the entire weekend. I don't know if they were scamming me, or if they just didn't know what they were doing - but neither of those is a good answer. It's particularly appalling that a South Bay company would do this to a longtime South Bay homeowner. They must not be serious about staying in business. read more

Gino at Sal's plumbing took care of me today. I called at 9:00, he was at my place by 12 and he found and fixed a pin hole leak that had flooded my kitchen and basement by 1:30. It's not just about how quick but also about listening to my concerns and how to tackle the problem. The leak was behind my kitchen wall and we talked through weather to try and find the leak from inside or going from outside. We eventually decided on outside due to how high the the leak might be coming from on the pipe. You see he said if we the leak was lower in the kitchen, then we could get it from inside but if it was higher, then we'd either have to yank out cabinets or break tile or we'd have to go out side anyway....decided that it was better to go from outside and not take a chance at having holes on both side of the wall....and wouldn't you know it...the leak was higher. We had an issue with the shower head in our primary bathroom and needed to order replacement parts before it could be reinstalled. On the day of the installation, our plumber (Jesse) discovered that a part was still missing just as he was getting started. Instead of charging us for the visit, he kindly allowed us to reschedule once the part arrived. When he came back, we ran into additional internal issues with the soldered piping. Despite the complications, Jesse was able to resolve the problem and get everything working properly. He was helpful and professional from start to finish. First, Sal's scheduling team was able to provide us with a 2-hour service window only 30 minutes after we called to schedule help repairing a pipe leak in our attic. My main drain gets clogged with roots and needs to be snaked about once a year. For years, the service was $65, then it went to $95, now they want $150 to snake a main line. HERE'S THE FIRST SCAM: I called four places for prices to snake a mainline, Mattucci's said $125 and theyd be there between 10 AM and noon. No one's here by noon, so I call ans the guy now LIES and tells me he said noon-2 pm. When they get here at 2Pm, the price is $150. I sent him packing for the lying. My sister called Sal's and they said $150, which I agreed to. The kid gets here and tells me the price is $175! THEY KNOW YOURE DESPERATE BECAUSE YOU CANT FLUSH THE TOILET, SO THEY FIGURE YOURE NOT GOING TO QUIBBLE ABOUT $25! THEY ALL DO IT! He finally agreed to snake it for $150 because I Had a witness. 2 days later the drain clogged again! I had to argue and argue to get them to come back and honor their work and not charge me again. He snakes drain 2nd time. TWO DAYS LATER THE DRAIN IS CLOGGED FOR THE SAME TIME. Called another plumber to Drop a camera and finally clear the line. HERES THE SECOND SCAM: they use a little coil head to punch a hole in the clog, it drains and you think everythin's fine. THEY NO LONGER USE THE CUTTING HEAD ON THE SNAKE TO CUT OUT THE ROOTS. IF YOU DONT CLEAR THE ROOTS BY CUTTING THEM OFF, THE CLOG NEVER CLEARS. HERES THE SCAM: they refuse to use the cutting head on the snake because they want you to pay $800 for "hydro-jetting" the drain to cut the roots. No one wants to use the cutters anymore for $150 when they can all just refuse and force you to pay for hydrojetting. So my advice to you is to rent an augur w cutting head from Home Depot or make sure they're gonna get the roots when they say they're gonna clear your drain. and watch out for the "extra $25 scam", too. read more

We had an issue with our condo sump pump. Victor with Sal's came out quickly to diagnose the dump pump was operating but the pipe was pretty clogged causing a significant water back up with all the rain.
