Farmer Heidi was soo sweet! She was personable and she had a way with toddlers. On my tour, I had a toddler and he was so very excited to pet & feed the animals. I felt like she had kept us very busy. She had names for all her animals. I felt like we saw plenty of animals at her farm. She had bunnies, ducks, chickens, baby goats, tortoises, pigs horses and cats. No dogs though. We got to relax and take a water break at this nice area with a view of the island. My son's favorite thing was the horses at the very end of our tour. I enjoyed the tortoise because they're very stealth and fast. They look slow but they chased after my son pretty quickly. This was probably our favorite part of our vacation. Farmer Heidi was so nice once we got there she greeted us right away and let us feed the ducks chicken, chickens, and turkey while we wait for the rest of the party. The information for the farm and also the flow of animals is very fun and kept our toddler entertained the whole time. We got to hold rabbits feed goats, pigs, turtles, and more. We had a wonderful time here with our little toddler and will be sure to come back next time we are on Maui!! There are pigs, horses, tortoises, ducks, and more! Our toddler loved feeding and petting all the animals and Farmer Heidi was so wonderful!! Even though she isn't originally from the Islands, she learned all about the history and culture so that she could share it with us. It was a great half-day family outing and is close to the touristy area of the island so not a far drive from the resorts. There are a lot of different farm animals here. Heidi the owner is super sweet. You can really feel her passion and love for the animals. This place sits on 5 acres of land, up a hill and you get a great view of the ocean. My son is 2 and really liked petting the guinea pig after initially being afraid. We had a great time at the Maui Animal Farm. Heidi was great and really took the time to give us a great tour and get up-close with the animals. My daughter was especially fond of the rabbits and again, Heidi was so hospitable giving her some extra time with them. We had the amazing privilege of participating in a 90+ minute experience at the Maui Animal Farm yesterday, January 11, 2025. It was such a great experience for our kids and their kids and her kids (baby goats). The owner is just a force of nature! She is nothing less than amazing because of heartfelt relationship and animal husbandry for the broad menagerie she maintains there on this great iconic property. From "Friendly Freddy" the rooster to "Rudy" the 650lb+ pig, Heidi's caring for and rescuing all sorts of awesome animals, like chickens, ducks, parakeets, macaws, rabbits(including Flemish Giants!), wild pigs, domesticated pigs, tortoises, mini horses, goats, mini goats, horses, and so many cute chicks! I'm quite sure I didn't name all the friends but I wanted you to know what's there so that when you go, you'll be prepared for it all, including handling, feeding, and brushing. @jimmyjames_inc nearly lost his mind when Freddy jumped back on his lap for a cuddle. Please go support this place! Heidi has a heart of hold and truly loves these animals. We brought our 9 month old there wondering if he would like this because he's still a bit young but he was super entertained the whole time. The tour only took about an hour or so but that was perfect for us since we have small windows of time with him. She has bunnies, Guinea pigs, birds, ducks, chickens, turkeys, cats, goats, horses, mini horses, donkeys, pigs and tortoises. The coolest thing I learned when I was there is that in the afternoons she had a program that supports children with autism. When my wife left the baby carrier behind on accident I went back to get it later that day and got to see these children interacting with the animals helping on the farm and it was truly incredible. The children were firing on all cylinders interacting, using their hands and learning about the farm and now I just want to help keep this place around so it can continue to give back to the community the way that it does. This was super fun! If you have kids (or even if you don't & you just like farm animals) I definitely recommend coming by here! I got maybe 5 mosquito bites, and my husband and 4yo also got bitten a couple of times -- so I definitely recommend mosquito repellent if you don't want bites You'll want to book it at least a few days in advance, if not a week in advance, because it does get fully booked. However, the owner Heidi is so nice, she worked us into the schedule despite being fully booked. 2yo loved feeding lettuce to the tortoises and throwing carrot pieces over the fence to the pigs. 4yo enjoyed feeding the goats, miniature horse, and just about everything else as well. The owner (Heidi) was out of commission when we went, unfortunately, but we were shown a great time by a sweet mother and daughter team, as well as several other volunteering kids. read more

The overall experience was fun, but the bunnies are living in living in inhumane conditions. This review is less for potential customers, and more for the owner. Let me begin by saying the owner told us they were working on renovations for the bunny area and things would be better soon, but it doesn't change the state the bunnies are currently living in. These poor creatures have been stuck in cages for months/years. You can't just fix it in the future, you need to fix it now. They are kept in cages. Anybody who has done one google search on how to care for bunnies knows they cannot be kept in cages. They need space to exercise, like a cat or dog. Not only do the bunnies not have that, they are living in wire cages. This is extremely harmful and painful for their feet, and will cause lifetime issues. Furthermore, a lot of the bunnies have terrible matted fur and dandruff. I understand you are treating them as wild bunnies and not house bunnies, but it is at an unacceptable level. I was able to brush some of them and make good progress, and one of the bunnies gave me a happy hop once I put them back in the cage. The bunnies the owner let us play with were in good condition, but sadly there were so many more kept in cages with horrific dandruff, skin conditions, and fur. If you brought these to the vet, the vet would have a strong reaction at how hurt they are. I was able to substantially improve two of the bunnies lives in an hour using a brush for goats. I removed so much matted and clumped fur easily. That shows me how neglected these poor babies are. They also were not given appropriately clean water sources, nor nearly enough hay. As a bunny lover, I'm begging you (the owner) to either substantially improve the living conditions of these poor creatures or return them to an animal rescue. Please, PLEASE read at-least one article on how to care for bunnies. Set aside ONE HOUR per day to clean their living area and water + food, and take care of their matted fur. They need to be removed from their cages and placed in individual (per bunny/bonded pair)4-6ft areas NOW. At the very VERY least, I am BEGGING you with everything in me to give them a portion of their cage that is not wired. I know the wiring is easier because they can poop onto the ground and you never have to clean it. Please research how painful the wire bottom is for their feet! These are not wild hares, they are rabbits that have been genetically adapted for inside living. The way you currently have them is inhumane and abusive. I left this experience feeling depressed and disturbed. I have a lot of experience with rabbits but the average person wouldn't know this. However, any moron who has 5 minutes to google it would realize how abusive this is. I'm seriously disappointed and sad and feel so much empathy and pain for these poor babies. PLEASE help them out and make their lives a little less miserable :( read more

However she is all over the place which shows in the disorganization and overall "messiness" of this farm. We had such a great time at Maui animal farm! We took my granddaughter, who is 2 this month and it was perfect. The owner, Heidi was so welcoming, kind and such a good soul. It is an actual farm, up a dirt road overlooking the beautiful Ocean. This is a perfect outing for kids and parents, especially younger kiddos. We got to meet her newest addition first, a baby goat!! He was so stinking cute, playful and affectionate! He loved the 2 toddlers that were a part of our group. She introduced us to the whole farm :) :) Including some horses, mini horses, a donkey, some big old piggies, ducks and geese, all her bunnies and chickens, a whole herd of great goats, giant (and I mean giant) tortoises, turkeys...the list goes on. And all of them with the best names! Every one of her pets is very loved and you can tell how much she cares for them just by the way she introduces everyone and she has a great story about how the animals have come to be there. Such a wonderful experience and so worth spending our afternoon there, for all the memories, photos and the good time the baby had! If you decide to judge this place on the few negative comments on this page, then you and your little ones are missing out on a great experience. Its a real working farm, Heidi is a hardworking farm owner, and she does it all on her own. Yes, her farm is up a dirt road, and boy was it bumpy, haha! But so worth it. BTW, our little girl came home so dirty and tired and so so happy! :) One outfit down the drain, a ton of memories to take its place! We will definitely be back on our next trip. How anyone could rate this place less than five stars is beyond me! If you don't want to get dirty, don't go to a farm. This is a REAL farm, not some petting zoo at a big industrial zoo. Farms are dirty and stinky, and tons of fun! If you don't want to risk getting lost stay home. I mean it's pretty simple really. It was our last full day on the Island and we wanted something to do that's more on the relaxing side. I did a search for petting zoo and this place came up. I was able to purchase tickets online that same morning before the scheduled tour. You will see the sign to the farm and drive through some rather bumpy roads. We arrived and were welcomed right away by Heidi. We had to sign some paperwork. This is more of an animal rescue place and a place for animal-lovers than an animal farm. It's under new onwership and it has lots of potential. It still needed a bit of work but that didn't bother us. We enjoyed learning about the animals and being able to pet them. We were given carrots as well to feed the animals. My favorite was the long haired blonde horse, which used to be owned by Oprah and the ornery donkey. In between the tour, Heidi gave out small bottles of water and some mini chewy fruit snacks. We opted out as we had just eaten. She did have hand sanitizer or soap and a hose available to clean your hands. The bunnies and guinea pig were put on pillows on your lap. I guess it's extra protection from nails and if they decide to pee. I loved the two baby dwarf goats named Ben & Jerry. They were so adorable! I was on cuteness overload!! You don't have to be a wee one to enjoy all the animals. read more
