Sean and Anna at Camp Maui X made Maui and all it had to offer happen for us even the day after the worst series of storms the island had seen in years. They had our vehicle fully stocked and ready to go as mud was being plowed out of their neighborhood. We'd never used a tent top rig before but after a practice run with Sean, we took off to the grocery store, stocked our cooler and had the time of our lives. ....In case you're wondering, we're not "young" people at 45 & 60, that can sleep anywhere, so I have to admit, I was a little worried about the comfort factor of sleeping on top of a car for 9 days. Truly, we had no need to worry. The tent floor is a super thick and comfortable, queen-sized, memory foam pad. It was a pretty sweet place to lie down every night! Having our sleeping quarters on top of our rental car meant we could pop up at night whenever we were done for the day and then skeedaddle in the morning for our early plans. Due to the destruction on the island from the storm, we were able to change our plans on the fly and stay on the south side of the island where the waters were calmer and clearer. We weren't nailed into a condo or hotel somewhere where the conditions were trashed. We had a few nights reserved at Camp Olowalu for our 9 days but went ahead and made that our base camp. They have hot showers and a view from the beach to die for right on top of a gorgeous snorkeling reef. Sean & Anna checked in with us through the week, letting us know they were there if we needed them and answering questions. We were so busy having the time of our lives that I think they thought we were "dead in a ditch" somewhere....whale watching in Lahaina, snorkeling spot after spot off the side of the road, SCUBA diving at Mala & airport, paddling an outrigger off Makena, doing a massage training in Makawau and kayaking to Molikini. Having all the gear in the Xterra was so easy!!!! We loved it! Camp Maui X!!!!! You rock! Thank you!!!!

A true local Hawaiian that gave us an educational history of the islands and Maui area. He picked us up right on time in a clean, air conditioned and comfortable minivan. We had a private tour for just the two of us, although he assisted some friends we ran into along the way. He had cold drinks ready and carried them on our hike for us. Vene was polite, professional, and a perfect guide for our adventure. He was a lending hand for the steep and slippery areas, always keeping an eye out for danger. He explained the songs and chants of the Hawaiian culture as we went. My only disappointment was we hadn't booked Epic any other adventures. I decided to stop by the shop on my day off. Calling it s bike shop is too narrow of a definition it's more of an electric bike center with rentals, sales, and short term rentals available at the location. Its a great way to immerse yourself in electric bike culture. Lee was busy with his bike advocacy work so he turned me over to his shop manager Nathan. I was able to test ride three different types of electric bikes and by the end of that experience I understand why they're e-bikes are catching on so quickly. The Center's west side location gives you good access to bike routes to explore right from the shop. The technology has definitely evolved since the last time I rode and e-bike. All the bikes look clean and well-maintained and all three bikes I rode perform perfectly. I rode one bike that was had thick tires and reminded me some what of a pick up truck I noticed that one used a little bit more power than the others but I think they would have adequate range for an afternoon biking on the west side of Maui and seeing the sights. What can I say the top of the line e-bike with the crank based assist motor seem to work the best for me that's also the more expensive option for purchase. Definitely worth checking out if you're thinking of going the E bike route.

I bought two electric bikes from Segway Maui about a week ago. One was great and no issues. The…read moresecond bike, was a demo, but Tom, the owner said "it's pretty much brand new, we only used it to demo it." Well, it broke down on me in Kapalua. I live about 1 hour bike ride away in Lahaina. Breaking down an hour away was upsetting but I understand things happen. The bike went completely dead. I charged it overnight, knowing that I would be taking it on a long ride the next day. When I called Tom, and explained that the bike had broken down on me, his response shocked me. He said,"Why did you charge it if the bike was new?" I explained that I asked the sales person (Andrea) about charging routine and she politely said she didn't know much about the bikes and that I would have to ask Tom about charging. And then handed me the owners manual. The owners manual recommends a full charge prior to initial use. Then Tom explained that he couldn't do anything to help me other than contact the manufacturer and hope that they "do something nice." I explained that I just spent $5,000 in his store and this bike broke on the first use and I would hope that he could provide me with better customer service. He said, "I'm sorry, I can't do anything for you. If you bought something from Wal-Mart and it was broken, they wouldn't be able to fix it for you on the spot." He explained. I told him,"Yeah, Wal-mart would allow me to return this broken bike." Then he said," Well, I can't. I have to wait and see what the manufacturer says." I explained to Tom that I would understand if I had taken the bike out on a few rides and it broke down. But this was the initial use - the first ride and I discovered that he had sold me a broken bike. He said."Yeah, well, it's a demo. We can't do anything else for you." I told him then,"You probably shouldn't be selling demos to customers if they are broken." Tom didn't offer to try new batteries, didn't offer to look at the bike, didn't offer to exchange the bike, or apologize. He only said that he couldn't see me until next week because he was in Wailuku until next week. I said that's ok, I can come to you. I had a $2000 paper weight and I'd like a little help with it. He said,"No, that is not possible. I will be busy with tours and I can't help you. I have to wait for the manufacturer." I explained to Tom that he had no problem taking my money for the bikes and upon learning that it was broken, he couldn't offer any help to me. I would stay clear of this place if you want to purchase an electric bike. The customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. Selling broken merchandise and then choosing to not take responsibility is the lowest form of business I've seen. I hope this review will help others avoid a very very bad situation, like losing thousands of dollars and getting stranded an hour away from home. Pretty sad situation.

Tom was a great teacher who made sure we were comfortable and safe at all times. The training was about 45 mins and the tour was over an hour and a half. He took us down kaanapali beach and around front st. Tom was very knowledgable and taught us about the historical sights and tourist areas around Lahaina. Water was provided. Tom took pictures of us and gave them to us on a usb drive for a reasonable fee. This was a fun way to start our first trip to Maui and I highly recommend this tour

Gerard joined my oldest daughter in jumping off the waterfall & he got my youngest on board to swim behind it. There were a million other details that went into the most perfect day & the highlight of our vacation. It also really didn't hurt that Poerava sent us on our way with homemade mango muffins & banana bread. We would 100% do this again & change up the itinerary to see new sights.
