Eliot gave us a private tour of Road to Hani, what a great guy with so much information. Truly enjoyed the day and all the places we were able to explore would highly recommend. Plan on coming back in March and will definitely use them again!

Ten Gold Stars Chris was AH-mazing. Took us to so many wonderful places, catered to our every need. Picked out a wonderful spot for lunch and took endless majestic photos for us. He made our trip unforgettable and amazingly awesome. Thank you again

Great to work with! Starting with Susan getting it all set up . Confirmed with the day before ( that's really nice, some company you never hear from you just hope they show) we signed up for a private tour of the Road to Hana. We took a flight in just for the day Matt picked us up at the airport in a really nice van and we where off for the Road to Hana. Super easy to talk to and full of knowledge, bamboo forest, former sugar process, waterfalls, beautiful beaches, great scenes, place that make the best banana bread. Matt knew info on trees and flower and so much more.Matt customize this trip just for us. Thank you, Best trip ever! ! Book your trip you won't be disappointed. 5 stars isn't enough but it's the best yelp has to offer. 5-GOLD STARS PLUS

If you want to experience "The Road to Hana", DO THIS TOUR. Our tour guide was Matt. Me and my fiancé had an amazing time. Prior to booking, I did a lot of research of how to best experience The Road to Hana. I looked into countless tours, debated renting a car, and following an app on our phones. I'm very happy that we ended up doing this one. My fiancé and I are 27 and 29 years old. If you want a local to take you around and show you adventure, this is the way. We didn't want to be stuck in a bus and passively traveling the road. We wanted to stop off, hike, swim, and REALLY explore and experience "Old Hawaii". We went on a hike through a bamboo forest, saw countless waterfalls, my fiancé jumped from a waterfall, visited a couple black sand beaches, a red sand beach, stopped for lunch on the side of the road, got to take in a Hawaiian art gallery, and tried the best local Banana bread. We took our time at each stop, Matt allowed us to stay for however long we wanted at each place. He never rushed us. I am from the social media generation. I am an Instagram kid. I want to document, take pictures, and brag about our adventure. Matt has a background in videography. He wasn't annoyed with taking pictures of us at multiple places. He did so many times without asking, which I appreciated. He also took action and candid photos of us. What I was left with was an AMAZING selection of pictures to post on Instagram and social media. Many of my friends and followers were impressed with our adventure. I'll be sure to upload some in this review. This tour was top notch. I would do it again. The only suggestion I would have is when we were coming out of our car, we didn't know what this stop would entail. It would have been nice for the guide to briefly explain what we were going to do/see. I didn't know at which stop to bring my waterproof camera, my backpack, my towels, or what we would be doing. There were a few stops where I wish I had brought something different, or left something in the car. When we plan our next trip in the future, I do want to book another Awapuhi tour. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour. This was the highlight of our weeklong trip.

My husband and I decided to do one big splurge while on our honeymoon, and the Road to Hana tour was it. Matt is an extraordinary tour guide. We had a lot of pent up questions about Maui/Hawaii by the time we met him, and he answered everything, all while giving us the adventure of our lives. We NEVER (and I repeat NEVER) would have been able to locate the entrances to all of the waterfalls, black sand and red sand beaches, bamboo forest and lava tubes, etc. with a guidebook alone. It's almost like these spots are intentionally disguised to keep tourists from overrunning them. At a few points during the day I was reminded how grateful I was to be on the Awapuhi tour: 1) at a public restroom a few older ladies had gotten out of a generic tour bus started spouting how disappointed they were with their tour experience (which I totally get...you simply can't give a entire tour bus full of people the same adventure experience), and 2) I noticed a few women towards the end of the day in a nice rented convertible totally distraught after getting into a small collision. The driver was in tears, the others were consoling her. It's just not worth the stress. These roads are for experienced drivers only. Thank you, Matt! You made this an unforgettable honeymoon, and we will be back for more on our next trip!

Hands down the best part of our vacation! Matt was incredible! The best guided tours/adventures I have ever taken (honestly). We went to a lot of places that were gems, black sand beach, red sand beach, lava caves, amazing hikes, cliff jumps, and the lunch / presentation was unreal. We have taken 4 guided trips this tome and Matt was honestly 10 times better than the others.

Mike was not only an expert in all things chocolate, but he is easy to understand, he takes time to teach you and answer any questions and he has a great personality! You get to taste fresh cacao, nibs, cacao tea and kakao brew - of course at the shop are the full chocolate bars. Mike clearly loves what he does and enjoys sharing that love with his customers. This tour is meant to expand your knowledge and change your perspective on how you think about, taste, and experience chocolate. At the end of the farm tour, you drive down to the gift shop (about a 3 min drive from the farm) to make any potential purchases as well as taste even more chocolate! What an amazing and unique experience in Honaka'a and 100% recommend adding this tour to your Big Island itinerary. P.S. my favorite chocolate bar is the barrel aged bourbon bar!! Not much walking-- the most is from the entrance/cafe area to the field with an outlook, where you learn about how the Dole family rekt Lanai's natural environment to farm pineapples (kinda evil). Frankly, the history behind mass agriculture and farming is pretty bleak-- you can't help but feel a sense of injustice for the native Hawaiians. Our tour guide was thorough, objective, while empathetic. From thereafter, you're sitting under an overhang while listening to your tour guide explain the stages of coconut growth & trying the different pieces. We tried: - Coconut water - Coconut jelly - Coconut meat - Coconut shavings ... All from coconuts of varying ages, getting the chance to see how each tastes different from the other. Kai even popped by with a surprise: fresh palm hearts! My bf and I frequently use canned ones for salads-- the raw flavor blew our minds. The entire "tour" took around 1.5 hours. The cafe in front is charming, lovely drink & food offerings alongside a gift shop. You can tell that the staff here actually care about the history of Hawaii and respect the island.

She taught us the different plant groups that feed each other, and what order to plant to get the most productivity (and safety! We learned that papaya makes a good windbreak for smaller and more delicate plants, and agave makes a good firebreak!). I wish I lived in Maui because I'd be planting mangoes, papayas, bananas, coffee, and cocoa, RIGHT away. It was wild finding out how fast and tall papaya trees grow! These plants don't grow well in Seattle, but we are still going to take what we learned and see how we can apply similar features for our own food forest. I appreciated the very real perspectives about what works - as well as pitfalls and challenges with their food forest / mango farm. The tour was really interesting and fun, and we even had a resident cat named Tyson who took the tour with us! SO CUTE! The view there was beautiful, and though our tour group was tiny, I could see this being a fun activity for kids and families, too. Enough safe space for little folx to run around safely, and so much is stackable. She let us try mango (and wild mangos), ice cream beans (what an experience!), fresh coffee, and more. So good! They said they are going to do dinner parties here and I look forward to coming back to the Maui mango farm when we visit next time. Hopefully we'll have some good photos to show off of the garden upgrades that they've inspired. We really wanted to do something to support the Lahaina community (without being a disaster tourist, either), so visiting a regenerative farm seemed like an awesome choice, and I'm very glad we went. It was invigorating and soothing at the same time. It was especially helpful for me to get over the mild cold during this trip. The walk was very easy and informative and we wore tennis shoes but it could have been easily done with flip flops or sandals. At the end, we were served delicious box of star fruit, papaya, and different mango samples .
