We had our family building painted by Maven Maintenance. They were on time for all appointments and quick to respond to any inquiries. They tirelessly worked for 7-8 weeks and got it done quicker than expected. They even had a colorist help with the color of paint to use. During this project, they found dry rot along the windows and rust under the stairs, which they eliminated and repaired. The crew was pleasant and always informed us prior to fixing an issue and would let us know if they will be working rather than not showing up. The building looks amazing now! We're very pleased with the results and outcome. Although the proposed amount was adjusted due to dry rot, it was a reasonable amount to cover the cost of extra work. We did a large bathroom project, a total gut renovation, and came out the other side with two fully remodeled bathrooms. We hired Craig and Jerry on a mutual friend's recommendation and were able to view their work beforehand in a friend's house. I liked Maven's structure because rather than subcontracting major parts of the job, Maven maintains a full time staff of plumbers, electricians, painters, drywall guys, etc. Jerry, the foreman, is very conscientious and knows the ins and outs of city code/inspections. Jerry got us thru 6 city inspections. They were also helpful in pointing us in the right direction for materials, and explaining issues that came up during the job. Change orders were not overly burdensome. We were living onsite thru Covid for the entire job so we had a lot of interaction with the team, and we found Jerry, Alex, Carlos, Pablo and Jose to all be pleasant and professional, as well as diligent about mask wearing on the job. We live in a condo building and they were able to navigate the challenges that come with that, and our neighbors and the Maven crew got along well. They kept the job site clean (which we appreciated since we were living there). The entire project was on time and on budget. I docked one star because of some communication issues: We occupants had planned to move out while some of the work was done and had arranged temporary housing. Totally satisfied with out first contract with Maven Mantenance. It was a full exterior paint, 5 window replacement (with extensive trim work needed), and some interior plaster repair/painting to match. All of the work was properly completed, it all looked good, and was thoughtfully done -- by which I mean he attended to all the details and special attention items that they discovered (and cleared with us) along the way. We are really happy with the work. The workplace was fully cleaned up each day, both interior and exteror portions, and the workers were nearly polite and low-key -- almost silent in their work. As a long distance owner, I appreciate the good communication with Vinny (our project manager) and the office throughout the process. When you cannot see the work in progress, those updates and pictures were a good substitute. Also, Vinny handled the neighbor relations very well, which avoided any issues or hard feelings. Lastly, they accommodated my weekend visit for the final inspection, no problem. Based on other reviews, I expected really good work. And they exceeded my expectations because 1/ they discovered a few site conditions that they addressed without ambushing me with crazy expensive change orders and 2/ they kept on schedule and communicated their progress. They are too busy to bid jobs. Contacted on March 6, 2021, after several "missed" & cancelled connections over the next 2 weeks, finally met with them 2 times over the course of the next 4 weeks, with varied excuses as to why they still hadn't bid the job. Finally on April 26th, I signed a contract with another business still never having heard from them. As a professional courtesy sent an email to advise, only to get back another excuse that they were dealing with health issues over the past week. Sets you up to not be critical, but doing it anyway. I forgive the last week, what's the excuse for the 7 plus weeks before? I get everyone's busy, please say so early on so we can find someone who isn't and wants the work. I am the treasurer at the Francisco Palms complex in the marina. This is a building with 17 units that Maven Maintenance developed. Since 2006 our building has hired Maven to perform a wide variety of tasks from cleaning the gutters to repairing a roof leak after a heavy downpour of rain to repairing the garage opener. The team are respectful, hard working and bill fairly. As a result I used the team to help me install an additional bathroom in my apartment. This involved, moving the pipes, tiling, submitting plans to get planning permission, getting the permits. At the end of each day my unit was cleaned and it was left as though they had not been there during the day, It was a great service and a really good price! I hired Maven Maintenance based on a referral to assist me in helping me close out a Notice of Violation with the City due to loose concrete on the front facade of our building falling into the public right away of pedestrians. Being a very aggressive project manager in the city of San Francisco and dealing with more than a hundred of contractors in my career i can honestly say that Maven Maintenance went above and beyond to play ball with me. People that know me know how i like to run my projects and over stress to the detail because I DO NOT LIKE TO MAKE MISTAKES!!! Especially dealing with other peoples money, wouldn't you agree??? In this case Vinny (Project Manager) took care of the day to day operations of my project and in a very very long time i honestly felt comfortable to let this project run itself with minimal supervision based on the fact that they demonstrated the professionalism, knowledge and determination that it took to successfully complete this project given a strict dead line and setting this project to the highest standard of the industry. I was constantly updated daily and never kept in the dark which was a big plus and even Craig the owner always kept a healthy line of communication at times emailing his reports at midnight and forward. That right there says a lot to me about this company, Regardless of the time it seems they don't stop until their workload for the day is complete and or the customer has received their update which i am very keen on. I would even find myself conversing with Craig(Owner) way past after hours via email in preparation for the next day. As you can see two people handling business at midnight is not very common, with Craig it was as it shows that he loves what he does. At the end of the day i received a fully painted historical building accompanied by all the necessary concrete repairs needed to clear out our notice of violation with the city, and including extra detailed items that was not on our original scope of work. Regardless of what i wrote above here are the important Q&A's that everyone is looking for. We closed on our Pac heights condo Nov 30th and set the move date on Jan 15th. We wanted to redo the bathroom, open up the wall in the dining room and do a bunch of smaller things like painting the place. The time fell over the holidays when we were away. Maven turned out to be a great choice for us, Their foreman, Jerry, reassured us that everything will be done on time for our move in . He brilliantly managed the job, his guys worked every day, Jerry took time to understand our needs and, was proactive about getting supplies and materials, and was very flexible and helpful throughout the job. We were worried that we wouldn't finish on time, because we really needed to move out of our old place on schedule. And this was over the Christmas and NY holidays as well. But Jerry and his guys were great. They did plumbing, electrical, and other general contracting. Overall, we had a doorway enlarged, a bathroom redone, and bunch of other smaller things. As things came up (eg we discovered windows were stuck), they helped us resolve them. The job finished on time, on budget (reasonable) and we were able to move in. I came upon Maven Construction when they remodeled a house next door to my house in early 2013. I found them to be professional and knowledgeable contractors. As they worked next door we took advantage to get our roof redone, exterior painting and some minor repairs on the property line between our house and the remodel. They did a great job and the price was reasonable and fair. They are clean workers and the owner Craig and Foremen Jerry are easy assessable. They will work with you and your neighbors so as to keep every effected happy. So this year we decided to remove our tub and put in just a shower. We called Maven and no one else.
