We found this saloon nearby Cachuma Lake and it is a charm. They were open for Memorial Day and welcomed families with children. It's a great place to have a nice meal after camping nearby the lake. The food quantities are large and freshly made. The ambiance is friendly, warm, and western feel. The service is friendly and pretty quick for our group of 9. Highly recommend the steak dinner for 2.

I just love the Maverick saloon! It is always a stop when I'm traveling through the central coast. They have a happy hour and a beautiful outdoor deck where you can sit and enjoy the sun while you are eating and drinking. Typical bar, food and drink, but good people watching and such friendly service!

Went for the tomahawk special. The steak was really good - had to ask for more of the green sauce. Service was fine, it's decorated to look old western.

Well, this is amazing how many dollar bills are tacked to the ceiling.

This bar is like walking back in time. The first impression is the locals like it. The ceiling is interesting, it's covered triple deep in cash. Our cocktails were great. the old fashion was especially done very well.

Been coming here for years. Always a great local watering hole. Everytime I visit Santa Ynez or Solvang I roll through. Great service and drinks, cool vibe and fun place to have a few drinks!

Inside of this restaurant is pretty cute but can get a bit noisy since there are so many people inside. We ordered the Copenhagen caesar, Solvang hot chicken sandwich with crispy potatoes, and the mac & cheese with caramelized onions to share. I love a hot chicken sandwich and theirs is absolutely fantastic. The herbs, shredded cabbage, and pickled onions were a great addition to the spicy fried chicken. The crispy potatoes were so good, they held up well the next day as well! I highly recommend getting the caramelized onions added to the mac and cheese. The portion was quite big so we had to take it to go but it was also great to eat cold straight from the fridge. We are definitely coming back again if we are in the area but will try and make a reservation so we can sit outside next time!

I was scared I'd leave a hungry but their portions are decent. just beware, the plates are on the pricier side. love how they use local ingredients though my favorite bite was the spicy chicken sandwich but the mac n cheese was also very unique and the salmon pastrami sandwich was stuffed with lox and bussing out the seams with cream cheese. We waited ~20-35 mins to be sat, but solvang offers a variety of shops and bakeries to explore in the meantime so all was well.

Everything we've tried has been delicious, and you can truly taste the quality and freshness in the food. Ashley is hands down the absolute best bartender/server! She's attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She knows the menu inside and out and always has great recommendations. Plus, she makes the BEST lemon drops! She really makes the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside is that the Mother Clucker (spicy crispy chicken sandwich) isn't available until 4 p.m. Unfortunately that means we can't order it for lunch, which is disappointing because it's one of our favorites. If you sit at the bar, they even have casino-style machines so you can sip and snack while you play. Service was decent, aside from the delay with the drinks. I understand the bar was busy, but waiting until we were halfway done eating was a bit much.

It is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Solvang. Every meal was exceptional, and the service was consistently outstanding. From the moment we walked in, Daniel welcomed us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home. At our first breakfast, Taylor provided friendly, attentive service that set the tone for the rest of our visits. That evening, we enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer, beet & burrata salad, short rib grilled cheese and black tie burger. Every dish was absolutely delicious. On our second breakfast visit, Sandra took wonderful care of us. She is such an asset to Craft House--knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Sophia, who brought out our food several times, always greeted us with the biggest smile. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Lorenzo and Nora were also fantastic servers who helped make every visit memorable. Over four visits, we sampled several different entrées and breakfasts. The avocado toast and chorizo quesadilla were definite standouts, and every meal exceeded our expectations. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Craft House team for your incredible hospitality, exceptional service, and outstanding food. We can't wait to return!

I'd Gather Not One…read moreof Solvang's newest restaurants isn't known for its æbleskivers or Danishes, but rather for French-Asian fusion, and is led by Indonesian-born head chef and co-owner, Budi Kazali. They promise to bring you bold flavors using fresh seasonal ingredients in an elegant but approachable space. The Good: * Reservations via OpenTable™ * Free street and city lot parking nearby. * Dog-friendly outdoor dining * Right on the downtown strip in Solvang, next to our favorite bakery. * Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice) was delicious and hit all the right notes. The fried chicken add-on was a different story, though... See below. * Caesar Salad had a delicious flavor, but Carissa found the salad to be a bit overdressed for her liking. I didn't mind it, but I like an obscene amount of dressing on my salads, so go figure? Salmon was a little undercooked for her liking, but again, I wouldn't mind it a bit pink. So, comme ci, comme ça. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Meh: * Not all the outdoor spaces are shaded/covered. * Prices are a bit absurd for certain items. Yeah, I know it's über-touristy Solvang, but jfc. $12-14 for a beer? And don't get me started on $12 for some of the blandest and most minuscule serving of fried chicken ever. * We arrived ten minutes early for our reservation, and the hostess seemed very annoyed that we were. In fact, she made us wait until it was time for our reservation to the very minute--despite the restaurant being at less than 10% capacity. * Service wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't say it was good, either. More on this below. The Ugly: * I ordered the Hazy IPA they had on tap, and when it arrived, I could tell it wasn't a particularly "hazy" Hazy IPA. But I figured some are better than others. For my second drink, I asked for the Clown Shoes IPA they had in a can. When the waitress returned with it, she admitted that the first beer she'd brought me was actually the same Clown Shoes IPA. Apparently, they'd run out of the Hazy IPA and decided to make the substitution without asking me. It's not a huge deal--I probably would have made the same substitution myself--but I definitely wouldn't have ordered a second one if I'd known it was the only IPA they had in-house. Like I said, it's not the end of the world, but for some reason, it just feels a little devious. Would they have made a substitution without asking a wine connoisseur? I would hope not, but now it kind of makes you wonder. Conclusion: Not a great experience here, from the hostess to the waitress to the food. I wish them luck.
