The Central Coast Corvette Club likes to go to The PCPA Theater in Solvang each year and have dinner somewhere before the show and for the last couple years as the group gets larger and less restaurants in the the area are able to accommodate us, The Craft House has never said no. There was a menu adjustment but was more than acceptable for a large group of our size. The first thing I look for when I enter any place serving food is (is this place clean)? YES! Food safety is very important. Food taste excellent. Service was Excellent. The personal touches they put into hosting us for dinner were over the top. Best dining experience of our entire trip. My wife and I were in town celebrating our 10th anniversary, and Craft House is the meal we're going to remember. Our server Hally greeted us the moment we sat down. I asked her for an appetizer recommendation and she immediately named three with no hesitation, no hedging, no "everything's good here." We landed on the calamari and the Truffle Gnocchi, and that gnocchi was the surprise of the night. Not a lot of places do gnocchi at all, much less one built this well. Spinach dumplings, grilled artichokes, and a black truffle cream sauce that stayed balanced instead of heavy. Exquisite is not close. We both ordered the filet mignon. Perfectly cooked and tender enough to cut with a fork. Hally checked on us the whole night without ever being pushy or hovering. She was warm, welcoming, and completely professional; the kind of server who clearly takes pride in her work and is a real asset to the ownership team. Celebrating our nation's 250th birthday in beautiful Solvang! We ate at Craft House four times during our visit--and for good reason! It is, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Solvang. Every meal was exceptional, and the service was consistently outstanding. From the moment we walked in, Daniel welcomed us with a warm smile that made us feel right at home. At our first breakfast, Taylor provided friendly, attentive service that set the tone for the rest of our visits. That evening, we enjoyed the cauliflower appetizer, beet & burrata salad, short rib grilled cheese and black tie burger. Every dish was absolutely delicious. On our second breakfast visit, Sandra took wonderful care of us. She is such an asset to Craft House--knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Sophia, who brought out our food several times, always greeted us with the biggest smile. You can tell she truly loves what she does. Lorenzo and Nora were also fantastic servers who helped make every visit memorable. Over four visits, we sampled several different entrées and breakfasts. Our favorite spot in Solvang. We come 3 times a year and this is always our dinner spot ( sometimes we'll come twice if we're there longer). Everything we have ordered has been amazing. Some favorites are the short rib grilled cheese, Korean filet salad, pizza, pasta, Brussel sprouts,, cocktails, I mean everything is so good! Live music outside on weekends is a vibe. Service is always great! Whenever we bring family or friends here they all have loved it! I usually make a reservation for a Saturday night but there's always some open tables available. read more

Oh my stars, this review is so overdue it's practically ancient. But how could I delay sharing the enchantment of this Solvang treasure? From the moment I stepped inside, every detail had my attention. Despite the cold temps, we asked to be seated on the outdoor patio(cozy firepit table and heat lamps of course). After a couple hours of shopping and walking around, everyone was hungry! We had such a great experience at our last visit that we had to return to Craft House with our daughter. The last time we dined it was too cold to sit outside. We were hoping to sit outside this time, but the wind suddenly kicked up, so inside we went (again). We were seated by the front window which at least gave us some sun. :) We ordered two favorite items -- The Spicy Pig and Prime Rib Dip. Our daughter chose the Truffle Gnocchi which was a standout with that fantastic sauce, pillowy spinach gnocchi, artichokes and garnish of fried spinach. Super cute spot, we sat outside with a fire pit table. It took a while to order, we had to flag someone down to let them know we hadn't seen our waiter and ppl seated after us had already got drinks. We got the ceviche, Cesar salad, potato taquitos, burger and the truffle gnocchi. Everything was great besides the truffle gnocchi. It was a let down, the texture was weird and it was pretty bland. Shared an entree with my mom for a late dinner as we weren't too hungry. We got the Prime NY strip which is served with duck fat potatoes. It far exceeded my expectations! The steak was super juicy with a delicious limey chimichurri sauce. The only thing is, we ordered medium rare and I'd say it was closer to a medium, but the fact that it was still juicy made it not a big deal. The duck fat potatoes on the side were an absolute treat. Crispy and flavorful on the outside with a tender interior. Would order the potatoes alone. Despite the food being good, I think it's extremely overpriced at $48. Quality and portion wise the entree reflects a maximum of $35 I would say .The service was excellent! Kind host that helped open our door and picked a disability friendly table. I have to say this is a pretty cool place. ****MAKE RESERVATIONS**** As you walk towards the entrance, you are serenaded by a live band (with an awesome volcalist) as the heaters warm your way. The entrance opens up to a large atrium with a chandelier as a centerpiece. Our server was Christian. He was a lil aloof but very professional ...at first, but once we joked with him, an awesome personality popped out and gave us amazing professional service. The poor guy was being pulled in a million directions! The restaurant is modern but with an upper class old school whiskey lounge feel. What did we order? Rating 5 is the best! Sea Bass Definitely a 4...portion was small and the fennel salad overpowered the taste. The sea Bass was cooked perfectly and buttery. The potatoes were perfectly paired. Prime Rib 4!! They definitely know how to season it, and it was actually medium rare. The only reason it didn't get a 5 was a big portion (about 1/3) of it was just fat. The broccolini was overcooked and bland. The mashed potatoes were yummy. 3. Crab cakes 4 definitely not the usual deep fried. They seemed baked and had a ceviche taste to it. Very different and refreshing. Just didn't pair well with the prime rib. Asparagus Yummy 5. Perfectly seasoned and crispy cooked! Loved it! Valley Fog 5!! It came out smoking looking like a fog!! So awesome! The flavor was strong and yummy. They do not skimp on the adult soda part. Hubby's BDAY treat were the beignets! 5!!! These were amazeballs! Nice and warm. We're locals and have frequented the Craft House quite often. The service and the food is quite good. Today is our 49th anniversary so I thought let's go here for a little romantic dinner. Boy was I wrong! We decided to sit inside, you know, it's a little more intimate. We were seated at a 2 top just across from the bar, I thought this would be nice. Oh no, the two female bartenders started yelling bacK and forth and then telling jokes and laughing/cackling - this continued through our entire dinner. I've never been so disappointed. I really wanted to dine outdoors because of the beautiful fire pits at each table, but it was a little too chilly for me to be outside. Our server was super attentive and very friendly. The Unicorn Paloma was delicious and pretty. The lava salt rim and unique blue ice cube..such a fun fruity cocktail! Not too sweet and had the right amount of sour. It was smooth and well balanced. Kudos to the bartender! We shared the Black Tie Burger and Spicy Pig Pizza. The burger was juicy and paired well with the bourbon bacon jam and black truffle aioli. But it doesn't stop there. They add aged white cheddar for depth of flavor and fresh arugula for a peppery bite! This is my kind of gourmet burger. The fries were wonderful too! Gosh even the ranch dressing! Tasty! I like my fries on the thicker side and these definitely hit the spot. Very generous portions. The Spicy Pig Pizza was outstanding. The crust was thin but not too thin- it had a sweetness to it which I enjoyed. The Nduja sausage provided a little heat from the fiery red Calabrian chili peppers. Craft House at Corque has the potential to be a 5-star restaurant, but customer service really needs improvement. Our party of 4 was seated and waited about 20-30 minutes without a waiter in sight. Meanwhile, a table seated after us had already placed their order and received drinks. I eventually had to flag someone down, and they mentioned they would get our waiter. They later returned and took our order themselves, saying our waiter, Christian, would be with us shortly. To Christian's credit, he did apologize when he arrived, but throughout dinner the service continued to fall short. He would stop by asking if everything was okay while our cups sat empty, then walk away without offering refills. We had to specifically ask for water and drink refills. At the end of the meal, we also weren't asked about dessert or whether we needed anything else. We had to ask for the check and he pulled out of his vest. That said, the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. The outdoor seating is beautiful, especially the built-in fireplaces at the tables, which we really enjoyed. The live music also added a nice touch to the evening. Food-wise, the appetizers were the highlight. The ceviche and flautas were excellent. Magical night ending with a great Happy Hour. The holidays are always special in Solvang but the price of a dinner is not. We were looking for a nice spot just to have a snack and a cocktail then head home for dinner. We choose to stop at the inviting Craft House. We sat at the lovely bar and ordered from the Happy Hour menu. They had an Old Fashion for $10!!!! My husband had a local beer. We ordered 3 appetizers: the potato taquitos, the Brussels sprouts and the cauliflower. Now that sounds boring but, oh no they weren't. Each with their own special dressings. And plenty of it. Yum!! FYI: There were two other apps with meat. Bottom line our bill was around $50 that included drinks and enough for a dinner. The bar area was cozy and decorated for the holidays. Today I came to this place with a reservation at 6:30 PM and the hostess tells me that the table is ready but I can't sit in it because my reservation is at 6:30 so I decided to go out with my family to walk around since we showed up one hour early prior to the reservation came back at 6:05 PM and asked if our table is ready and can we just sit down and a hostess replies that our reserve time is at 6:30 PM and that's the only time we can sit down so I asked is there even a table ready for us already and she replies yes it's already ready but your reservation time is at 6:30 PM and that's the only time we can sit you down. Besides being sat down at the table once we got the table, they gave our kids coloring pages, but nothing to color with so we waited for the server and asked them if they even have anything for the kids to color with and they said they have color pencils, but they ran out so we waited and received three coloring pencils of different colors, not sharpened and I had to go up to the front where the hostess was and ask them about sharpening the pencils. They helped me try to sharpen it, but the sharpener didn't work. So the lady started jamming the pencil to the sharpener because she was frustrated and stressed out because I could sit there and stare at her. We ordered the food. The server was really good at his job giving us the recommendations and I want the food came out. The portions just felt like it was really overpriced and we've pretty much felt like we can get this at Los Angeles like at an Applebee's. Don't let my pictures for you guys. I promise you the food is the same quality as Applebee's, but double the price so definitely not going to come back here again due to the hostess and the quality of the food plus the portions. read more

Went here on our road trip. The wings were amazing. Great sweet and spicy flavor and perfect crunch. Also got the donuts, omg so good. They have a raspberry jelly that went with this delicious. Breakfast menu has not disappointed. I have had the breakfast sandwich, the chorizo quesadilla, the beignets and the potatoes. The breakfast sandwich is among the best I have ever eaten but my favorite has been the chorizo quesadilla. Phenomenal! Spicy and flavorful and the avocado crema goes well to complement the ingredients in the quesadilla. The service was excellent and the restaurant is very close to the center of Solvang (just a block over), making it an easy choice when visiting.
